Let's change the mood....What is the nicest thing you have done for another guest?

Way a great way to change the mood! It made me feel that there are still nice people out in the world ! Happy Holidays! :hyper:

One of our trips in the last couple of years we had an extra ticket for Cirque du Soleil because one of our party cancelled her trip at the last minute. Once we got over to the DD area we looked around for a nice person to give the ticket away to and found a sweet looking grandfather type gentleman and asked him if he would like the ticket. He asked if we would mind if he gave it to his granddaughter who was with him, and an avid fan of theatre and the arts. It was just perfect!! His grandaughter sat with us and we loved every minute of our evening!!

we just got back form chilly wdw.
at the sci fi cafe we ordered the drinks with the glow cube in it and the wer two young kids sitting in our car in front of us and after we finished our drinks we gave them our cubes. they were so exciting considering they kept turning around looking at them to see if they were still lite up.

we have also given our fast passes away if we werent using them and if we forgot one time we gave them to however was getting on the bus when we got off the bus at the resort.

Last Dec we were at MGM, starting to walk up the walkway for the B&TB stage show. As we were walking I overheard a woman say "we have to go way up there...I can't make it". I noticed that the woman was pushing her husband (who was a large man, probably pushing 300 easy) in a wheelchair and also trying to corale 3 kids under 10. They all seemed upset about not going.

So I handed the camera bag off to DW and walked up to the family and started pushing the gentleman without saying a word. His wife was quite surprised and they were all very appreciative. After pushing him up and down all that way, I realized why the wife was going to pass on the show - it was a bit of work.

And just to show that good things happen in return, when we got to the top the CM asked the family if they wanted to sit up front by the stage. They said they did, and included my family in their count. So we got front row seats unexpectedly for helping out another.

What a great thread!

On our first ever trip to WDW in 1999, we were with my parents who were celebrating their 40th anniversary. We got a free cake at Rose and Crown. (We called ahead to say it was their 40th and an entire cake was presented to them at the end of the meal) The CM's were sooo sweet.

Upon arrival back at our Resort (PO) my parents had a package waiting for them from the staff at PO. A lovely muscial Minnie Mouse jewlery box. How sweet.

Everything was totally unexpected which made it even more lovely. I think those experiences have made me a disney fan for life.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Not a big thing....but as I was waiting on the curb for the MVMCP parade the people next to me were talking about how the daughter lost the back to one of her pins. The mom said she thought she could buy some, somewhere.

I reached in my bag, pulled one out, and said to her "Do you need one of these?" She was so surprised and said "are you sure?" I told her we had lost one as well and you buy them in a bag of 10. She was quite surprised by my generosity. I didn't think a thing about it.

We also made space on the curb at that parade for some kids who were with their parents and tried to see over us.

Just common courtesy.........::MinnieMo

My husband and I were checking into WL last May for our 5th anniversary trip. It was about 1:00 (well before check-in time of course) but the jerk checking in down the row from from us was being really snotty to the CM because his room wasn't ready. She explained to him that he could check his bags and didn't have to wait to get to the parks but he just wouldn't let up with her. Meanwhile, my husband and I were really anxious to get to the parks because we were on a pretty short trip and we just wanted to go, go, go! Unfortunately, the CM checking us in was in training and everything was hanging her up and she kept having to find another CM to help her. Despite our just wanting to get out of there and to MK, my husband and I remained calm and cheerful, joking with her, etc.

She finally got everything squared away and while the jerk down the row was still barking at his poor CM, my husband and I were told our room was ready. We headed upstairs and realized we had received a free upgrade. We had a MK view! And that night when we came back after visiting the parks we had a complimentary bottle of champagne waiting for us on ice along with a wonderful anniversary card from the CM who checked us in! I love Disney.

It makes you feel good to "share" at WDW! This visit my children were using a pressed penny machine at the Poly and there was a little guy watching, perhaps 3 or 4. I asked his Mom if I could give him 2 quarters and a penny so he could do the machine too. He was so excited! That silly 51 cents gave me the biggest smile!

During Thanksgiving week we went to the MK and it was chaos. The lines were impossible for everything and even to get a stroller the lines were terrible. I saw a nice family come in and the daughter asked "Can we get a stroller" and the parents were objecting because of the wait. I told them to take mine, we were heading back to swim. I would have only gotten $1 back, yet this family was thrilled. Grandpa tried to pay me! I said not to worry, I was happy for them to take it. Grandpa said "Bless you dear" and it about broke my heart -- again, a tiny gesture that cost me virtually nothing meant a lot to these folks!

Once DH and I were given straw hats at the Land Garden Grille restaurant. We saw a family resting on a bench outside and asked the Mom if we could give the hats to her two young children. They were delighted.

Also, I often notice one family member taking a group picture of the rest of the family...I like to offer to take the picture with their camera so that ALL family members can be in the photo; the families are very appreciative. Often, they will reciprocate and take our picture for us with our camera.

Great thread!

Myself and my boys, now 4 and 6, routinely hold doors and give up seats, but this is common courtesy and expected behavior from civilized gentlemen.

We have given away fast passes and seen the delight on faces when their wait time was cut from 4 hours to 0 minutes.

We have taken other children on rides when their parents couldn't or wouldn't.

The best thing, though, I think was Dec. 2001. Our entire family went and we were going to stay a couple of additional days and had bought tickets to MVMCP. Some of our family had to leave early, so we decided to leave with them. On our last day, we remembered the tickets, and saw a family of three (only needed three tickets as youngest was only 2 1/2) discussing things to do etc. We talked to them briefly, and gave them the tickets to MVMCP. They, in return, sent us a lovely thank you note and Christmas ornament telling us how much they enjoyed it. That made our Christmas that year!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!

Awesome!!! What a GREAT post! This is what we need more of.
Did a private cruise for illuminations and invited a couple we met to come along with our family. They did. We still talk.......Happy Holidays
'See You Real Soon"

Like another poster mentioned you sometimes forget all the little things you do. I always strike up conversations with people and that often leads to some of the little things I have done. One the bus I was talking to a mom about how their trip was going and in the conversation she mentioned that her kids were enjoying pin trading but that the son had lost one of his pins. So I took one off my lanyard and gave it to him. He was so happy. I also take the glow necklaces and one evening as we were heading to MK I talked with two moms traveling with four toddlers who were being so well behaved so we passed out quite a few of the glow necklaces and they had a ball playing with them.

Talking with others and seeing them enjoy their vacation makes my vacation all the more magical.

Let's see...I think the nicest thing I did for a guest this week was on Thursday.

It was really really cold, and I had two hand warmers in my pocket, and I gave one to this nice little old lady who was really really cold next to me.

She was very thankful and sweet.

We have given away fast passes. I agree that's always fun. I have given a Mickey balloon to a child. I always try to make room for kids at parades, but one time was the best. It had rained a bit so the curb was wet, but I always bring a couple of towels to sit on. There were a couple of boys behind us. They weren't that young (maybe 9 or 10) so no one was letting them move up so I said come sit with us and gave them the extra towel to sit on. They were thrilled. Even at that age, they can't see around all the adults!!

we didn't use all the days on our hopper passes so give them to a mother with two kids (still had two days left) the look on her face was like she won the lottery.

When we were at Fantasmic, my two children were desperate for the light up twirly toys. I was coming back from the bathroom and stopped at the cart, only to realize that all I had was a 20 dollar bill stuffed into my pocket. When the very kind gentleman behind me realized that I was about $4 short, he insisted that I accept the money from him, since I'd never have time to make it back to my seat for more money and line up again before the show started. What a nice man! He said he wanted me to know that not all people from Florida are horrible. I thanked him and assured him that although I knew that before, I was even more certain of it now!

I take pictures and pictures and pictures. Last October trip I was by myself in the Parks for two days while DH was in meetings, boy did I take a lot of pictures!! A few years ago we were waiting right at the start of the MGM parade in front of Backlot Express. There was a huge extended family sitting in chairs all in a row. I said you guys look so cute, let me take a picture, well they handed me about 20 cameras! My DH just shook his head, there I am in the middle of the road snapping away. The CM's were laughing going -- Hey take your time, you are just holding up the entire parade.

I always leave my leftover laundry detergent in the laundry room at the DVC Resorts when I'm checking out with a note telling people to please use it.

I buy up the pins at TDS or Character Warehouse when they are really, really marked down, and put them on my laynard. I let kids choose anything they want, and trade me for just about anything they have. Sometimes I'll just let them take the pin :)

Last summer we gave our nephews Mickey balloon which he couldn't take on the plane home to another little boy (after our nephew left).

We always seem to have fast passes we don't need or want. A couple years ago this girl who was about 13 was being given a really hard time by her bratty older brother outside Space Mountain. I walked up to her and handed her the FP which was good starting in one minute, and told her "I'm giving this to you, not your brother, because he is being mean to you." The look on her face was priceless!

sorry if this duplicates...didn't have time to read all the posts.

a family leaving POR last june gave my brother's family their styrofoam cooler with the unopened cans of soda, etc. that they hadn't finished. thought that was nice.

We've given people fastpasses we decided not to use.

Given people our rental stroller as we leave the parks for the day.

Let small child sit in front of us at Illuminations when others crowded her view.

Helped bewildered people find their way to an attraction.
