Sandy:
I know how that guilt by geographical association works. People hear NV and think; Mustang Ranch, the Las Vegas strip, gambling, free booze and cheap buffets!
People think because we live in Reno we have no morals or ethics.
Now, some don't but many of us do. I think gaming gives people that impression.
I know what you are saying about the "church" mentallity. I have a friend whose husband is very religious and she says she goes to church with him every Sunday to get "Godded Up" so she can say the f word during the week. She is teasing, but the point remains and we all get it. Her DH just rolls his eyes at her.
My Dh and I both have very strong Christian faith and we were very actively involved in a small church in So. California where we used to live. Then we moved here and while DH has found some he likes (he is much more to the "right" than I am) He refers to me as Gray

I have yet to find something that makes me comfortable, he goes more often than I do and takes the kids if they want to go, some days I prefer to stay home. I prefer old and traditional and he likes new and evangelical. So, we wander all over the place. My DS is involved in a youth group that he enjoys.
My loonie Mother used to get sucked in by just about every television evangelist out there. When I placed her in the dementia care facility last year and then cleaned out her Apt. I was amazed at the mailing/donation lists she was on. Some were well know, very legitimate and well worth supporting and then there were the fringe ones that are known frauds and it didn't matter what we said, she would never listen to us. With her placement into a care facility, they all took a huge financial punch in the gut
DD's school - well, today I am scheduled to be in the classroom at 2:30. DD informs me this morning that her teacher yesterday told them that they will now be having PE on Tuesdays at 2:30 (is the fact that this is my scheduled parent helper time a coincidence or a dodge...........I'm not sure) Also, teacher did rearrange the groups yesterday per DD. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Horseshowmom:
Maybe you can shed some light on this. I was talking with DD's best friends Mom last night (also, an unhappy parent of said teacher) and we were wondering what ever happened to putting the kids in rows facing the front of the classroom? What is up with this group thing where their desks are in little pods facing each other and not necessarily the teacher.
Re: The loincloth.
Did you tell him it was to be accompanied by a large hand held fan and that it was for your pampering, not his enjoyment
Oh dear, I must go get some work done...........Have a good afternoon ladies
