Hi All
Sandy, I can so relate to the being at work, with lots of work to do and not wanting to do any of it! Sounds like you have a great weekend all lined up, have fun and be safe. (I am doing nothing except the weekly trip to the library)
Your little vacation sounds wonderful. We have never done Universal but we have visited and enjoyed Busch Gardens, especially the place where you can sample the beer (free) my FIL loves it! They have a live show called KaTonga, it is the best show I have ever seen and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed it more than the new Little Mermaid show at AK. My DS loves their rides, especially Sheikra which he drags his poor Dad onto. I still have their voice mail recording of them on the ride on my cell phone and it still cracks me up.
I'm so glad DS's pictures came out! I don't envy you having to pick out the ones you want. I can never decide, I want them all! Remember when they were babies and the whole packet from JC Penny Portrait Studio was like $39.99 and it came with a gazillion poses and a gazillion pictures! I had to buy the whole dang thing because I couldn't part with a single pose, even if it was not a good picture, it was still cute!
I got the flyer for the "school yearbook approved" photographer and the sitting information to get the pix in the yearbook. At this point we are going to do the sitting for the yearbook ($15) and look at outside photographers.
Yesterday, I got the Canon Digital Rebel that I have been wanting for forever (This is my 3rd Rebel, but the 1st digital one) I may try my hand at some portraits and if I don't like them then I have a photographer in mind. I think I am losing it, I was reading the flyer out loud to DH and was getting choked up

literally - I think it is going to be a really long year for me.
I can so relate to how your DH feels about your DD moving away from home. I am a wreck just thinking about it. Glad there were no mice encounters this trip.
DD is busy with her summer camp. She has been swimming, skating, mini golfing, bowling, movies etc.....along with countless games of kick ball, mushroom ball and anything else they can come up with to do with a ball. She especially loves the bi-weekly trip to the library and then she and I go every Saturday, since she is becomming a book hound like her Mother. This week I read the James Patterson 4th of July and 5th Horseman (the 1st to Die series) Love Alex Cross! Tomorrow we go and get more.......yeah!

She will go back to school on 8/8
DS doesn't start school until the 27th of Aug, but mandatory football ends 7/26 and starts back up on 8/8 - I have to go in next week on the 18th and do his "Clearance" which is basically the same as your registration. I have to pay all his fee's, put the deposit on the yearbook, turn in the AP History book he still has

and turn in his Athletic packet & Physical form so that he can be "cleared" for Fall sports.
I'll update on the new girlfriend over the weekend or Monday - can we say interesting................

She is not prone to drama, she is too busy being a tomboy - the lack of drama is one of the things I think DS is attracted to. He hates girl drama and won't put up with it.
Camp.....I am sooooo tired I can hardly think. Over the last 3 days I have cut up 80 watermelons, hauled countless cases of water and Gatorade as well as enough ice to make our own rink. We cooked, served and cleaned up. Then went home to do prep for the next day; slice oranges, watermelon, tomatoes etc.............. Oh and in case you guys didn't catch on, I am a sissy LaLa. I don't do heavy physical anything! I hate to sweat and am really a big wuss
Background: One of the Reasons I like the head Coach so much is that along with football he is helping to teach my son and the rest of the boys how to be young men, not just football players. He is HUGE on respect to others, especially parents, volunteers and staff as well as accountability(one of my Fav's). He puts up with no crap and is very quick to handle a "situation"
As happens every year........

The Freshman got a quick lesson

from a very angry head coach on Day 1. (It never takes them very long) Coach, who was heard to say "You will respect these ladies who have done this for you" as he was blowing a whistle and making them run up and down the bleachers. This after they left a god awful mess and then gave us mouth when we told them to pick it up.
We love this part - inevitably one of them will complain, "but I didn't do anything, I cleaned up my mess" and our response is "Welcome to being a team" "1 member of the team screws up, the team pays" Sure enough by day 3 there was not a piece of trash to be found and no mouth to us from them, all we have to say is "Do we need to get Coach?". The annual initiation of the Freshman

We secretly look forward to it every year

Football camp was a huge success. They came, they slept(JV & Varsity) Freshman have not earned the right and are sent home at night. They ate and they sweated their fannies off. I always feel bad for the California teams since the altitude here can be a killer. The weather semi-cooperated by giving us thunderstorms Tues & Wed which kept things a little cool. The bad thing was the T-storm on Tues caused a huge fire (5K acres in 24 hrs) within about 10 miles of the H.S. where all the boys were camped out, they got to breath in all the smoke and everything was covered with ash come Wednesday morning. Then it rained lightly which helped to clean up the air and keep things cool.
Wednesday afternoon all the boys headed to the waterpark to cool off for a couple of hours then back to the school for a huge pot luck style meal. My DS was able to come home every night for a shower (a hard earned Varsity priviledge that few of them got)Yesterday, was bright, sunny and hot! Oh well, 2 out of 3 days isn't bad considering that it is usually in the low 100's during camp.
Well now, the hour I spent typing this all the while looking like I was working away has me much that much closer to going home.............
I hope you all have a fun weekend and HorseshowMom, Pam & Eliza hope to hear from you guys soon.
