Let the Memories Begin--A Mother/Son Adventure of a Lifetime!-update 8/6-17 the end!

Sorry photobucket isn't cooperating

I love the pictures you have posted so far. What great decorations they have in DHS and I love Jeremy's shirt

Photobucket has been a real pain lately. I am hoping it will work fine today so I can get this update complete. Keep your fingers crossed!

I liked reading your report. Thank you.

:welcome: Hope to have another update today!

Thanks for being patient! Hoping beyond hope photobucket will cooperate today!

:cool1:Woo hoo!!! I got all my pictures edited in photobucket so I think I can get this update done. Got a bunch more to load tonight so keeping my fingers crossed that I can get this report done in 9 days!!! There are 2 1/2 days worth of pictures left but I am determined!

So, after DHS opening and not wanting to go through the Toy Story Mania mad dash, Jeremy and I headed to the Great Movie Ride.

I hate to admit this but I had never seen Mary Poppins (or at least that I could remember) until last Easter. What a shame! :sad2: A true classic that I had been missing.

We had a short wait and was soon on our way.

Now I know everyone says there are two sides to this ride. We always get the gangster side. So, I have decided I am going to ask to see if both sides are running when we are there in April and see if we can get the cowboy side. Has anyone ever been on that one? I assume that everything else is the same except for those parts.

Awww, we made it to Oz.

After a wonderful ride through the movies, I decided we had better get those Toy Story FP. The line was down to One Man's Dream so I hopped in line and soon had FB for .............................................................................after 2! Wow, the park had only been open about 45 minutes!

With FP in hand, it was time for Catastrophe Canyon and the Backlot tour. Now, I am not a big fan of Catastrophe Canyon. Jeremy likes it but I would rather walk right by and on to the tour.

We spent some time in the museum after the ride. When we exited, we were near or either on (not sure) the streets of America and the Osborne Lights.

100_0764.jpg

We were close to Muppetvision so off we went. Jeremy loves this show and I can honestly not tell you how many times over this trip we saw it. I would say it was at least 3 this afternoon, maybe 4 and then more the night we went to see the lights.

It was getting close to lunch time. Now, I knew there was no way I could handle Pizza Planet which is usually where we eat at DHS. To me, Disney pizza is the same everywhere. We like Pizza Planet for the atmosphere and the games. So, what to do when in my opinion there are limited good choices at DHS. Well, we tried something new and actually really liked it.

ABC Commissary (notice my favorite soap opera's sign is in the background--yes that was on purpose!)

100_0770.jpg

I really liked this place. They had some healthier choices on the menu than I can normally find and was very pleased (enough that we ate there another night).

continued in next post...

After lunch, Jeremy wanted to see Indiana Jones so off we went. Now, I was getting tired and sleepy so I got lazy for a while with the picture taking. I know we did Indy and I am pretty sure Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I must have awoke after that as the pictures started up again.

We were determined to make it to 2 p.m. before we headed back to the room so we could go on Toy Story. So, we headed to my favorite attraction at DHS...One Man's Dream.

We spent a lot of time looking around there and watched the film.

We still had time to kill so one guess where Jeremy wanted to..........

back to the Muppets!

We still had time so we got some pictures around DHS.

Then, we did some shopping. I was able to sneak a few Christmas presents for Jeremy without him knowing. We went in one store on the main street and they had this really pretty green beaded bracelet. I looked at it but put it back down. I am really bad at not buying myself anything when I really want it. Well, later on in the trip Jeremy went shopping at Mousegears for my Christmas present. More on that later but not only did the child buy me something in there, he also bought me the green bracelet for Christmas. I was sooo surprised Christmas morning!!! Such a sweet kid.

Up next:

It is time for our FP, will we ride Toy Story?
Will Jeremy stay for the parade?
Will we make it to the Osborne Lights?

Great pictures, and what a great day so far.

Such a sweet boy to buy you the bracelet:cloud9: You are raising a very nice young man it seems:goodvibes

What did you eat at ABC? I like the Asian salad there, but I pick out the ginger.

Can't wait to see what next.popcorn::

You got a lot of great pictures today and you sure got a lot done. I love Jeremy's shirt. That is too cute.

Nice pictures in the GMR. I have only had the cowboy side once. I heard you can ask for it if both sides of the ride are running.

It really looks like a beautiful day and I know I was just there in December, but I really enjoy looking at the Christmas decorations there.

Yeah for 9 days!!!!!! :cool1: Woo hoo!

Great morning at DHS! DH loves Muppet 3D & is a must for us.

Funny story about GMR. My DH would not believe me when I told him there was a cowboy side as we have always had the gangster. To this day he still does not believe there is a cowboy in there!!

Wow ABC Commissary was good?? They must have improved their menu.

Hope you get to ride TSM. I like riding it once but once is enough for me. My arm gets so tired!!;)

What a sweetie buying you that bracelet for Christmas.

Thanks, he is a very good kid........most of the time!!! :)

I meant to put what I had to eat but forgot! :confused3 It was the chicken sandwich. I think it had cheese on it, possibly even bacon. Can't remember but it was very good and tender---not dry at all. I always got the apples or grapes as my side and we would eat them in the room later. Jeremy usually got my dessert since he was on the child's plan.

I am uploading pictures now!!! Hope to get another update in tomorrow!!!

I was surprised at how much Jeremy and I did. I am beginning to think Tom is the reason we don't like that park. :lmao: We never make it past lunch there as he is ready to go.

Okay, I am definitely asking for the cowboy side then. Glad to know I am not crazy.

They have some really neat decorations at DHS. It is probably my second favorite behind MK. I can never get tired of Disney at Christmas. It is simply stunning. I hope I can make it the next two years without going to WDW at that time.

I can hardly wait for 9 days!!! We leave in 9 and will be at Disney in 10!!!!:woohoo:

Thinking back and trying to count in my head, I think we did the Muppets at least 5 times, possibly 6, the entire trip. Jeremy loves that show. It is okay for me. I had hoped they would do an update after the movie.

I am asking for the cowboy side. I am right there with your DH. I keep hearing that but never experienced it. That would be lots of fun.

I really liked ABC Commissary. I was able to get a good chicken sandwich that wasn't dry both times we ate there.

We love TSM. I am the Queen of the Wii game. However, at the parks not so much. Tom always beats me. Like you, my arm wears out. I was looking forward to it with just Jeremy and I. Stay tuned to see who wins.......or not!

I was shocked that he got the bracelet. He knew I wanted the scarf but never thought about him buying 2 things. I have a cute story about him buying the scarf the last night we were there. Hope to have this trip complete in 9 days so it should be coming soon!!!!

I can't believe how many times y'all saw the Muppets!! I love the muppets, but that movie is not my favorite - we do it every other year or so ;)

I am so glad that we got to see the Osborne lights - Michael and I went that night while the girls rode ToT - can't believe they didn't want to see them! But when we went back at Christmas, I forced the :thumbsup2 and they thought it was really cool. We got some really good photopass pictures of us there.

And when did we meet up again? So wild that we ran into each other this time!!

Geez, I knew we met up again and forgot to up it in there. I need to add it. We had planned to leave DHS early since Jeremy was scared to death I was going to make him ride ToT. Then, he kept wanting to wait for the Toy Story FP return time. It was nice running into you guys again. Looking forward to seeing you next week!

I like the Muppets but like you, the 3D and even the new movie is not my favorite but for some reason, Jeremy loves it.

I loved the lights. I loaded my pictures last night and it made me sad we will miss them in November.

That is awfully cute that Jeremy likes the Muppets that much! More than once though might put me over the edge.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Commissary in 2010, it was a spur of the moment choice based on getting out of the rain and not liking any of the other CS menus. Everyone really enjoyed their meal!

Glad you liked it too! I don't think there are a lot of good CS options at DHS.

I am a GH watcher too!:goodvibes

Partick + funeral = broke my heart.

A nice all around day at DHS. You got a lot done and even managed to get lunch there. I always struggle for a CS at DHS. At least when I am there during F & W I just walk over to EPCOT :lmao:

Wow... I got REALLY behind, didn't I?! It was fun having so many episodes to read this morning. Even with your Photobucket fiascos, you are busting out these updates!:thumbsup2

I think if some fool blocked my face on SE, I would be mad too! Poor Jeremy! I'm glad you helped him recover quickly, though!

VOICES OF LIBERTY!! So glad you got to see them! Make sure you see them again in a few days... you'll hear a whole new set of music!

I did Earl of Sandwich for the first time in October, and I agree... it was delish! (Didn't try the jello though... maybe next time)

What a special trip for the two of you. I totally understand missing the DH! Heading out on Monday to spend 4 days with my DH only! Then... I'll be missing the kids. It's just not complete unless the whole family is there, right?

:banana:Yay, so excited to have another GH fan!!! Know what you mean about the funeral--some of the best shows lately except for the end and Maxie. I knew Robin was alive!! Who do you think has her? My guess is that it is Lisa or the new doctor Maggie!!!

Aww, F&W, I will make it there someday......

Cool, can't wait to hear the Voices of Liberty again---amazing!!!! :thumbsup2

It was a great trip and one we will never forget! However, I am looking forward to all 3 of us being there in 5 days!!! :dance3: Just hate that we are going to miss each other again. Hope you and DH have a great time!!!

I enjoyed following you around Hollywood this morning.
This is the week of 'the trip that was cancelled', so I'll take any and all pictures I can get! :thumbsup2

I had a feeling Robin might turn out not to be "dead" but I was so caught up in the Patrick scenes. For some reason it really got me..
As for who has her.... so many villians Helena or Cesar Faison could even be it. LOL
