Let the Memories Begin--A Mother/Son Adventure of a Lifetime!-update 8/6-17 the end!

I think I am going to take one of those 'I just need a day off' days tomorrow.

I enjoyed the World Showcase pictures. We usually start in Mexico, but not always. The line-up going left from the front is Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, UK, and Canada. If we enter through the back gate, we go across the bridge, start in France, and end up in Mexico. If we do it that way, we'll skip UK and Canada and catch them on the next walkaround.

I saw some kids doing the Japan mission one time, and they were over by the rocky area with the lamp that you have in your pictures. The only mission we have ever done was in UK. Brooklynn was a little young to get into it. Maybe we will have time to do another one this summer. She might be more into it now

Yay for a DIS meet and for getting to see the fife and drum corps. The tree in America was beautiful.

A good dinner coming up next? I'm in! :thumbsup2

I am so glad that we were able to meet up in November - and glad that we ended up running into each other the next day, too :thumbsup2

I'm glad that Jeremy was willing to give the KP missions another try - and I can't imagine how frustrating that must be to have those negative comments really form what he's willing/not willing to do! Ack!

Uber jealous of the cruise! I have planned two for clients this week, so I am just living vicariously.

So, have y'all figured out your April plans? We need to see if our schedules will mesh once again.

Sorry you've been so busy at work! Is it related to the tornadoes that came through your area?

Fun day at Epcot! I'm glad Jeremy was enjoying the KP missions. We think they are a lot of fun. Zach & I had the hardest time figuring out what to do when we got the Eiffel Tower clue. We finally figured it out but I think that was the hardest clue we've ever gotten in all of our missions. Zach said we were doing an "Advanced Mission"!

Every trip has a meltdown of some sort, and each person on the trip does too. If that's the worst, well, it could be worse!

Fun morning though.

Poor Tom on the snoring, it is kind of funny but probably better that you weren't there to be mortified live. Congrats on your move, Kidani savanna view, I can't think of much better than that!

Looks like Kim redeemed herself on the 2nd go round, without your mom and you had a lovely lunch in Mexico.

YAY for Mickey Mail!

I  Mickey Mail!

Jeremy loved KP. There will be more to come in my report. He is super excited about the changes coming and really wants to try the new game at the MK.

We can't wait for the savanna views again! They are the best on property! :thumbsup2

So excited that you got your cruise documents. I am going to book my 10/2013 cruise as soon as I get one more AAA rebate certificate (from my credit card). I have a Disney visa, but the AAA rewards are better so I figure each time I get a reward I will just mail it to the AAA agent and use it towards the cruise.

What a great time in Epcot. I absolutely love that picture of Jeremy in front of the Christmas tree in the United States. How the heck did you get all of that in one picture? Nice! :worship:

I love the China movie and I am long overdue to see it again.

Yeah for a DIS meet!

Looks like Epcot wasn't very crowded. Nice! You got a lot of great pictures of Jeremy.

OH - and I love the KP missions, but I definitely think they are better after a couple adult beverages. Did you do the one in Germany? My absolute favorite! ;)

I didn't even realize I got the entire tree in the picture until your comment! I am not a great picture taker so no sure how I got so lucky. :confused3

It was a great afternoon in Epcot. Not crowded at all and you could get around nicely.

Yes, we did Germany, UK, Mexico.........................................................:rolleyes1 There is more (A LOT) more to come!!!! Jeremy loved them!!!

The only thing is I'm not going this year, I just haven't taken it out of my sig yet

Hate to hear that! Hopefully you will get back soon!

Great reports. They help us plan for our next trip. Thank you :thumbsup2

Thanks! :) Glad they are helpful.

Yes, dinner was at a favorite of yours! It was a place I always wanted to eat but never made it. One of my favorites now too!

Jeremy is excited about the new Phineas and Ferb missions. I didn't have the heart to point out to him that it would be 2014 before he got to try them out. :sad1: He is excited about the new game in MK. I am sure we will give it a try in 22 days!!! :dance3: Can you tell I am getting excited!

Thanks for the lineup of World Showcase. I was drawing a blank the other day.

Yes, the trip in 2009 was very frustrating. It took years to get him back on Everest and he used to love that ride. The sad thing is I have to minimize time that he is around my mom before our trips or she starts all over again. I think she is just really mad that we love it and keep going and don't ask her to go with us anymore. I love her but I cannot and will not do another trip with her. Very, very sad and upsetting time. :sad2:

So, for April, we arrive on April 6th. We will probably head to Epcot if the room is not ready. If it is, Tom will probably head to bed and Jeremy and I to the pool. It will probably be Epcot that evening.

Are you still there on the 7th? If so, plans are to hit the really early EMH at MK.

What are your plans those days? I would so love to see you.

Sorry you've been so busy at work! Is it related to the tornadoes that came through your area?

Yes, I worked that entire weekend as the crews were restoring power. It was some very long days and then had to work the regular 40 hours as well. I am on salary so luckily my boss did give us 3 days to take off whenever we wanted since we don't get paid for all the time we worked. It was nice so I used one last Friday and of all things, cleaned my house. :sad2: I will use the other 2 for the trip to Disney to save some vacation for later trips! :thumbsup2

I agree about the Eiffel Tower clue. Jeremy and I couldn't figure it out and then finally saw someone else doing it. I still can't remember what it did. Did it light up at the top or something? :confused3

That's great that Jeremy was having a good time doing the KP missions.

I am curious where you ate that you loved so much!!

Hope to have the next update up tomorrow! It was not a table service but a place that gets rave reviews around here that we have missed in all of 7 prior trips! :confused3

I actually enjoyed the KP mission with him. It was a fun way to see the world showcase.

Loved the World Showcase update!!! It's my absolute FAVORITE part of Disney! I could just walk around there day after day & never get sick of it! I truly love it there! My husband likes Epcot as well but he says he needs new scenery & couldn't walk around it that much -- but I disagree! I seriously could just hang out in World Showcase for a month!!! :cloud9:

We ate at the QS in Mexico for the first time this past September too! Honestly I wasn't thrilled with the food :confused3 The tacos my DH got were not good and I got a different kind and they were really dry. I almost got the nachos & wish I would have! However, we all thought that the churros were AMAZING!!! :thumbsup2 I'm planning to give it another try on a future trip though -- since I was pregnant in September, my taste buds weren't the same as they normally are! We did sit in the perfect spot though! We had an amazing view of the water & other pavilions across the lake!!! I also thought they had a really good assortment of condiments -- more than a usual QS since they offered a variety of sauces! We're thinking about trying San Angel next trip since we originally had it scheduled for September but cancelled at the last minute.

Yay for a DIS meet!!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad Jeremy enjoyed the KP missions!!! My oldest son, Matthew, is 10 (will be 11 soon!) and he did them last year. He's already getting into the stage where he's "too old" to do things, so I was glad he still enjoyed so many things at Disney -- and willingly choose to do them!!! I just told him last night about Phineas & Ferb & he's looking forward to it!!! I think Luke will really enjoy it too when we go back summer of 2014 to see the new Fantasyland.

I loved seeing the Christmas decor in your pictures!!!

I can't wait to hear where you ate!! We love sooooo many of the choices at Epcot, it's always really hard to narrow it down to just a couple each trip!

The tacos were a little different there. We got the chicken ones and it was just basicly chicken in a soft tortilla. I actually liked them but they are different. The nachos are really good!

We have eaten San Angel Inn and I really enjoyed the meal there. We ate lunch. The food was good plus I like the atmosphere being next to the ride.

Do you have a date for summer 2014? That is when we return after our trip in April. I am just hoping I can stay away that long....................... Not sure that will happen!

Update coming soon! We didn't eat dinner at Epcot. It was at DTD and a place I can't believe we had never made it to.

Well, we are at 21 days!!! Woo hoo!!! I can hardly wait. In 21 glorious days, I will be back at my happy place!!! I did make one more change to our room reservation this week. :confused3 I know, I need to stop making changes! I had too much time on my hands Tuesday when I lay in bed sick. So, we are now staying 4 night at the Boardwalk (not 5) and 4 nights at Kidani. I was able to snag one more night there. The boys were super excited as Tom cannot wait to see the animals and Jeremy cannot wait to hit the pool!

So, after a wonderful afternoon going around the world and helping Kim on two missions while meeting a great Dis friend, Jeremy and I were ready for a break. We started making our way to the International Gateway.

(Geez, what is the deal! Photobucket just froze up on me again. So, I am going to post this short update and see if I can get it working again.)

There was some more of these pretty trees I likes near the IG.

It was a nice walk back to the room. Jeremy even endulged in taking pictures along the way.

We didn't have any big plans this evening and even though it was late afternoon, I let Jeremy go swimming. I don't think I joined him this day. I think I just watched.

I wonder how many times he climbed the stairs this day! He loved that slide.

100_0707.jpg

My best attempt Jeremy in action on the slide.

Well, photo bucket just froze up again. So, I will have to end there. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I think 4 nights at BWV and 4 nights at Kidani is awesome! Tweak Tweak!

Jeremy looks like he is having a blast in that pool! :thumbsup2 Can't believe I will actually be in that pool this summer! :cool1:

And :woohoo: Woo Hoo to 21 days! That was fast!

Great updates! We always start in Mexico too! Not sure why. ;)
Love the pics of Jeremy with that big smile! That slide looks pretty ool!
Yay for switching your nights and 21 days!! Woohoo!!:)

21 days So Close you can always send me pictures.... :rolleyes1 Wouldn't mind at all. :rolleyes1

I hate when photobucket is being a pain.

Walking out the back of EPCOT is a wonderful feeling. :cloud9:

Believe it or not, we really don't have plans for the week! Touring plans lists every day as a 10 - Ack!! I THINK we'll do parks in the morning and then go to waterparks in the afternoon. But who knows how the day will pan out.

If you go to Epcot on Friday, we could absolutely meet you there. But I am sure the girls will want to go to Hollywood Studios on Saturday as (egads!) Magic Kingdom is their least favorite park.

Maybe we could meet you at the pool at the Boardwalk - or is that too presumptuous of me?!;)

Sorry to hear you were sick :sad2: but glad you got the nights at Kidani & BW. Sounds like a great time!

Great job of getting Jeremy going down the slide. I have heard that is a popular slide!!

Still waiting to hear where you ate that you loved so much.

You are at 21 days & we are right behind you at 31 days (tomorrow).:yay:

While I was busy being presumptuous, I almost forgot to tell you what I read online yesterday!

If you have a card from your doctor that states that you've had bariatric surgery, you can get the child's price at a buffet at Disney! I have heard that it can be hit or miss - but it's worth asking for!

The pool is lots of fun! Probably the best slide so far in my opinion of where we have stayed. You will love it.

It is 19 days today!!! :woohoo:

Great updates! We lays start in Mexico too! Not sure why. ;)

Jeremy was having lots of fun! It was a great trip with just me and him.

The slide is amazing! I can hardly wait.

Of course I will send you pictures!!! I just want some in July too! ;)

Photobucket has been giving me lots of fits at work lately!

I loved the IG. It was so nice and handy. Can't believe we never did that before. :rolleyes1

No, I am sure we will be at the pool! Jeremy can't wait. It will all depend on what time we get there and whether the room is ready or not.

It was not fun being sick but I was lucky in scoring that 4th day. I read in my Mickey Monitor that there is a new Okapi calf on the Pembe savanna. I am hoping we get that view and it will finally be out. That would be neat to see.

Hope to update tomorrow if photobucket cooperates! (and work is not that hectic) :rotfl2:

Thank you!! That is good to know. We no longer due to the regular dining plan as it was just too much food for me. Jeremy and I did quick service our trip and it was too much. We split meals many times. I am going to do quick service again this trip as I think it will be just right for all 3 and we can use some credits for breakfast. With all that said, it is nice to know as Jeremy loves Chef Mickey's and we like Cape May. We ate Crystal Palace in November and I walked away feeling horrible that I has spent so much money on what little I ate. I have the card so I will have to use it. I never had before but that would be a perfect way to start. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
