Let the Memories Begin--A Mother/Son Adventure of a Lifetime!-update 8/6-17 the end!

Oh Erika! I'm so sorry you've been going through this! I hope you get some answers (and some relief) very, very soon! I love having the DIS here to share things that you can't share with the rest of the real world. Please keep us updated!!

Oh, wow - how scary! I will keep you in my thoughts an prayers - and please do keep us posted!!

Hope those wise doctors find a quick fix for you. Sorry to hear you were hurting during the trip. I know how hard things were before I had my knee surgery. I let it go and let it go until it felt like there was an open boxcutter inside my knee, and every step was so painful. I knew I couldn't let it go any longer.

We are definitely looking forward to seeing trip pictures when you get to those - especially anxious to see the new things you did/ate/saw. :goodvibes

Oh Erika I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. Prayers for you that the doctors will be able to take care of this. Good luck with the therapy. Bad enough you are going through this but to have to do extra at work??? Must be awful!! We are all here for you.

Oh My - I am so sorry about all the issues you have been having. I really hope you can get in to see the neurosurgeon promptly and find out about this mass. I don't blamed you for being concerned. Please keep us posted and let us know how you are feeling and what's been going on. I know the absolute best neurosurgeon and that's a bummer because I know you are too far for him to see.

Have a Happy Mother's Day and feel better soon!

So sorry you have been going through this. I hope they find some answers quickly and help you not be in pain anymore. Praying for you

So sorry to hear about your pain... I'm sure the waiting is so difficult. I'm sending many prayers and piles of pixie dust your way... Let us know what's going on, if and when you can.

Oh Erika! :grouphug: Sending you hugs and positive prayers and thoughts that you are able to see the neuro soon, get answers and start therapy.

I'm so sorry that you are having to deal with all of that Erika! I understand completely the pain you are having in your shoulder and down your arm because I had the same thing, only in my leg, from a disk in my lower back. I had to have surgery, but that was many years ago and I haven't had any problems since. I hope the therapy corrects the problem and I'm sending prayers your way that you are able to see a neurosurgeon soon and that the mass is nothing to worry about

 og Erika, So sorry you yo are in so much pain.

I hope the Doctors get you straightened out soon and you are feeling better.

Anyone heard how she is doing? I usually don't post but I have enjoyed reading her trip reports and hope she has gotten some answers and pain relief.

I hope you all don't mind but I am going to do a mass reply. Thank you all so much for all the well wishes and texts the past few weeks. I am blessed to have some really great Dis friends.

I saw the neurosurgeon Friday. The mass that showed on my MRI is nothing to be concerned about. He said that since I didn't have rheumatoid arthritis it should be of no concern.

However, he thinks that therapy will not help the pinched nerve problem as 2 months has almost gone by. I am having an EMG next week but the surgeon is pretty sure that we are looking at neck surgery. He told me that the longer I let this go the more likely I could start losing use of my arm. To say I was pretty scared was an understatement. I have been a nervous wreck all weekend. The thought of them cutting on my neck has me scared to death! I am a lot calmer this week and am seriously thinking about getting a second opinion. I am going to wait and see what the EMG shows next week. The doctor who does it also specializes in rehab services so I am anxious to see if he thinks rehab is not an option. Please keep me in your prayers. I will keep you posted.

I finally got caught up on all my subscriptions today so I hope to do an update on this report tomorrow. I still need to figure out how to download the pictures off my new camera. Once I do, I promise a new report soon. It will be a good. It was one of our best trips yet!!

So glad to hear that the mass they saw is nothing to worry about!

I'm sorry about your neck though. Getting a 2nd opinion is never a bad idea, just don't let it go too long. I kept putting off my back surgery because I was scared. Finally I realized that I wasn't going to get better without it and the risk of permanently damaging that nerve was growing. They were a bit nervous about the nerve healing at first, but thankfully it did!

Oh Erica... How scary! Neck surgery would scare me too but I know a handful of people who have been through similar surgeries & it helped them a lot. I hope you get more information with the EMG so you can move forward with whatever you are going to do & start feeling better.

Can't wait for the next update!

Okay, it's pathetic when I have to go back and actually read the last update so I know where I left off. It has been too long....

So, we were in DHS, enjoying an afternoon of shopping until our Toy Story FP could be used. I am pretty sure that we hit the Muppets one more time before it was time to get our midway mania fun on. But, I guess it wasn't in the plan for us to play Toy Story this trip. :sad2: We got near the building and I noticed a huge line of people out the door, the Fast Pass Return door. :scared1: The wait was long even for fast pass and we were tired so there would be no Toy Story this trip. It was a bummer since Jeremy and I both like it so much but it is what it is.

We headed to the front gate. It was time for the Pixar parade. I suggested to Jeremy we watch it. I secretly love Disney parades!!! He wasn't in the mood but as we got close to the exit he changed his mind and we found a great spot. So, enjoy a cute Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade with the sun in your eyes!

Pixar has some of my favorite movies. Ratouille is one of them.

(I don't want to lose my posts so you can expect several today. Photobucket is not cooperating for me.)

I love the sock on his back! Too cute.

I love UP!

My all time favorite Pixar movie--Toy Story.

100_0818.jpg

It isn't a very long parade but very cute.

Jeremy and I left DHS and took the boat back to the Boardwalk. Now, I think it must have been too cool for Jeremy to swim because I think we just dropped our stuff off in the room, grabbed Jeremy's ears, and headed to Epcot. We had planned to go to the Osborne Lights but Jeremy had other things in mind.

100_0821.jpg

Have I mentioned how much I  that IG. It is a pure Disney gem. Tom couldn't believe how much easier it was going to Epcot when staying there this spring.

Can you guess what Jeremy wanted to do? (continued in next post)

If you didn't guess from the last picture, that was not a phone in his hand. It was a communicator. The child had the KP fever!!!

Our first mission took us to England.

100_0824.jpg

100_0825.jpg

At some point, he got a golf ball in the mission.

100_0826.jpg

100_0827.jpg

100_0828.jpg

We were doing something in the back of England, when a door opens and guess who comes out!!

100_0831.jpg

100_0829.jpg

100_0830.jpg

This isn't part of the mission but I liked the display.

100_0832.jpg

I think at this point we had completed all the KP missions on that side of the showcase and we making our away around to more missions.

100_0833.jpg

I believe we are now helping KP in Germany.

100_0837.jpg

100_0838.jpg

100_0839.jpg

Can you tell he is really into this?

100_0841.jpg

100_0842.jpg

I just realized that prior to the last 2 pictures in the prior post, we had helped Kim in Germany and she had sent us to Mexico. This was probably my favorite mission, probably because I like the Mexico pavilion.

100_0843.jpg

Okay, now I think this is where I stopped taking pictures. We ate some dinner and then did the missions in China and Norway. By the end of the night, we had completed the mission in every country they have them in. I was wearing down but Jeremy wanted one more ride on Spaceship Earth. So, I obliged.

100_0846.jpg

There we are on the earth!

100_0854.jpg

100_0856.jpg

We left Epcot just as Illuminations was starting. We were tired and ready for bed. We had a Magical Day ahead of us.

So, when I first booked this trip all 3 of us were going and we were doing the regular dining plan. Once Tom wasn't able to go, I cancelled most of the reservations except for a few in case Jeremy and I got bored of the quick service plan. The day before we were to leave, my dad brought Jeremy spending money and gave him extra to take me out to dinner. Well, I let Jeremy choose where he wanted to eat so we kept the Crystal Palace breakfast that way we could be in the MK before it opens.

We got to the bus stop early that morning.

100_0857.jpg

100_0858.jpg

I forgot to get Jeremy's picture in front of this sign the night of the party.

100_0859.jpg

Waiting at Crystal Palace.

100_0860.jpg

We were taken to our seat and the characters were already coming!

100_0861.jpg

100_0862.jpg
.

The food was just okay this morning but I loved how much Jeremy seemed to be enjoying the characters.

100_0864.jpg

Photobucket just froze up on me. If I can get back on, there will be more post to come......

It looks like Pixie Dust is coming my way. Photobucket is back working for me!! Let's keep this streak going.

100_0863.jpg

100_0865.jpg

I think it was starting to get close to park opening so we didn't wait for Tigger. Jeremy was satisfied with his hi-5 the night before from him in Epcot. Jeremy settled the check (yes, it was his money Papaw gave him so I let him take care of it---he was big stuff that morning).

Some pretty topiaries on the way out.

Beautiful castle for a beautiful day!

100_0871.jpg

100_0873.jpg

Looking back towards Main Street. I love the MK decorated for Christmas.

100_0875.jpg

We spent some time looking at the Mosaics.

100_0876.jpg

100_0877.jpg

100_0878.jpg

It was time to fly with Dumbo!

100_0881.jpg

Trying to get some pictures of the expansion.

100_0882.jpg

100_0884.jpg

I can't remember everything we did that morning. I know we did a few rides in Fantasyland and headed to the speedway. They opened up the third row and we were in front. Jeremy took off and my car wouldn't go. I never got any pictures of him in front of me---only of him waiting for me at the end.

100_0893.jpg

We did Monsters, Inc.

100_0894.jpg

Cute snack machine while we waited.

100_0895.jpg

A relaxing ride on the people mover.

100_0897.jpg

Waiting for the Carousel of Progress. I know this rides gets mixed reviews but we love it--a true Disney classic.

100_0901.jpg

100_0904.jpg

Time to defeat the Emperor Zurg.

100_0905.jpg

Jeremy's score.

100_0910.jpg

My score.

100_0911.jpg

100_0912.jpg

We were done with Tomorrowland so we headed toward the Castle. Another one of my favorite parade's was starting so we watched.
100_0914.jpg

100_0916.jpg

100_0917.jpg

100_0918.jpg

100_0919.jpg

We headed to Adventureland.

100_0923.jpg

It was time to try the Tiki Room. The only other time we had done this show was Jeremy's first trip and it scared him to death when the birds started singing. We had to leave rather quickly.

100_0925.jpg

Jeremy and I actually really liked it.

Time for a jungle cruise.

100_0927.jpg

And then on to a family favorite--the Hall of Presidents.

100_0928.jpg

Our day at the MK would not be complete without one last ride on the Disney train.

100_0929.jpg

It was mid-afternoon at this point. We were starting to get hungry and it looked rainy outside. So, we decided to hop on the monorail and eat lunch at the Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary and see the gingerbread displays. We made a wise choice as it started pouring rain once we got on the monorail.

100_0930.jpg

Someone was standing there and offered to take our picture.

100_0932.jpg

100_0933.jpg

100_0934.jpg

After the Contemporary, we headed to the GF.

100_0935.jpg

100_0936.jpg

100_0937.jpg

100_0938.jpg

100_0939.jpg

100_0940.jpg

100_0941.jpg

We headed back to the MK and caught a bus back to the Boardwalk.

Up Next:

A Night full of Lights
Will we find the Black Cat
Our last day
What ride does my child choose who will not ride ToT that has me litteraly scared the whole time we are on it? You will never guess this one!!!! Think outside the box or in a cage.....

You sound just like Tom!!! He wants me to go ahead and get it done. He had back surgery several years ago and told me the relief is amazing once you have the surgery. Glad everything worked out well for you! :thumbsup2

Oh Erica... How scary! Neck surgery would scare me too but I know a handful of people who have been through similar surgeries & it helped them a lot. I hope you get more information with the EMG so you can move forward with whatever you are going to do & start feeling better.

Thanks for the well wishes!!! Mega update is up!!!---FINALLY.

Great days at EPCOT and MK. I enjoy the KP missions and look forward to the new ones. :goodvibes

You got a lot done in MK that day. Always a wise idea when get in the monorail and THEN it starts pouring. :lmao:

Can't wait to hear about the ride. :rotfl2:

Chris won't do ToT either but Loves RnR. :confused3

It's good to have you back on the DIS!

I enjoyed seeing all the pictures this afternoon. Jill and I got Contemporary holiday pins. Glad you gave Tiki Birds another chance. :goodvibes

Is that an official Boardwalk t-shirt, or is it a DISign transfer one that you made? I like resort specific merchandise. I'm glad to see that AoA has some - at least for now.

Holy Mega Update!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

I love Jeremy's candy cane mouse ears. They are so cute and he is just too cute wearing them all over Epcot.

I am going to miss KP. The Germany mission is my fav!

What a great evening in Epcot and a wonderful morning in the MK!

Great update! Your pictures are beautiful.

Jermany really liked those Kim Possible missions. I might have to get my son to try that next time.

What a GREAT Mega update!!! So much to comment on.
You two got so much done:thumbsup2

I'm going to have to add Pixar parade to our to do list. It looks like fun and if it is a shorter parade my kiddos should be able to sit through it.

LOVE all the KP mission pictures and the high five with Tigger.

So great to have such a nice young man pay for your breakfast, and a great lesson for him too. I love when kids pay for things, it makes them so proud.

All the hotels looks so cool decorated for Christmas.

Hope the doctors can help you feel better

I've never watched the Pixar parade at DHS, my family is just not one to sit and watch a parade. :sad2: It looks so cute though! Have you seen where Disney is going to have 4 7 night Pixar cruises sailing out of LA this fall? I would love to take one, but with our cruise next month and WDW in September, funds are low......

No better way to start an MK day than having breakfast with Pooh & Friends :goodvibes

My family doesn't usually want to watch the parades either. I got lucky that day. Jeremy did oblige me one day in the spring for the MK afternoon parade.

I did see those Pixar cruises. I think those would be fun as well.

How did I miss that you were taking a cruise next month? Is it a Disney cruise?

What a GREAT Mega update!!! So much to comment on.

Thanks for the well wishes! I am anxious to get some relief. Yesterday was one of the worst days I have had so I would about do anything now.

Jeremy loved the KP missions. He is even more excited for the Apent P ones that are coming. I am trying to figure out a way to get a few Disney days before the cruise in November. We had originally planned to do that but then Tom wasn't sure he could away from work that long so we extended our spring break trip. It will probably be a last minute decision if we do.

I love Disney at Christmas. It is a truly magical feeling. You must go sometime.

Great mega update!!! :thumbsup2

I love Jeremy's Boardwalk shirt!

Thanks! He liked it but I didn't pay attention to it until we were already in the MK. The size was a little too small for him and he can't wear it now. I felt like I really wasted my money. That particular shirt really runs small compared to others with the same size at Disney.

Great update! Your pictures are beautiful.

Jermany really liked those Kim Possible missions. I might have to get my son to try that next time.

Jeremy loved them that trip. He didn't do any in April but I really think it was because he had done all of them in November. He can hardly wait for Agent P to begin.

Holy Mega Update!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

What a great evening in Epcot and a wonderful morning in the MK!

I couldn't believe he wore those ears as much as he did. He has had several sets of ears in the past and they end up in the closet. He even wore those everywhere we went to celebrate Christmas.

It was a lot of fun that evening helping KP. We did so much fun things that trip and really had some great times together. I would love to do it again with him sometime when Tom couldn't take off work.

It's good to have you back on the DIS!

I enjoyed seeing all the pictures this afternoon. Jill and I got Contemporary holiday pins. Glad you gave Tiki Birds another chance. :goodvibes

It is good to be back. I really enjoy the Dis and hate it when I miss. Hopefully I can keep up this time.

We didn't get into the pins until the end of the November trip so I missed it. I saw your pin the other day on your trip. Very cute!!!

It is official Disney resort merchandise. I always have good intentions to do the DISigns but never follow through. This shirt ran smaller than other Disney shirts. I mentioned above that I really didn't notice it until we were at the MK and then it was too late but Jeremy really needed a bigger size. It is sitting in the back of his closet waiting for me to box it up. :sad2:

Great days at EPCOT and MK. I enjoy the KP missions and look forward to the new ones. :goodvibes

You got a lot done in MK that day. Always a wise idea when get in the monorail and THEN it starts pouring. :lmao:

Can't wait to hear about the ride. :rotfl2:

Yes, we made it on the monorail just in time. It was a great way to avoid the rain plus see pretty Christmas decorations.

Hopefully I will get to the "ride" in the next update. I had some pictures not finish loading I am afraid it could be them.

Chris won't do ToT either but Loves RnR. :confused3

I messed up my reply to you so I am just going to do it over.

It was a good idea to avoid the rain by getting on the monorail. It started pouring buckets. I love the Christmas decorations so it was nice to be out of the rain enjoying lunch and see all the pretty stuff.

Jeremy still hasn't got on ToT nor RnR. I did ToT in Spring. I really think that helped with my neck problem. :confused3 Jeremy loves Primeval Whirl which I think is a horrible ride. I think he rode it like 8 times in a row this spring. Once is enough for me and Tom won't even get near it. With all that said, you won't believe what that child wanted to ride and I can't believe I agreed to it considering I am afraid of heights. I hope to get it up later this afternoon but some of my pictures didn't finish loading last night and it could be them. Stay tuned.........
