I’ve always thought the way the Yankees are put together is like if a group of kids was picking teams in the playground and one team gets the first three picks, then a second team gets a pick, and then first team picks the next four, then a third team picks a player, then the first team picks two more, etc… and they proceed like that until the first team is complete and the other teams divide the scraps.

I’d feel bad for the teams that had to compete against team 1 because they have such an obvious competitive advantage, but I also feel bad for the players on team 1, because it seems like it would hard to enjoy your success knowing that it was achieved on a playing field tilted so dramatically in their favor.
