So when is the best month or week to visit DW...based on the least crowds only, please!!

Just my opinion but our family has been 13 times during different times of the year and we feel one of our best trips due to crowd level was the first week of December. The parks were emply. Also, weather was great. Mostly 75 degrees and one day it got up to 85 and we spent the day at typhoon Lagoon. The Christmas decorations were up at the parks and resorts were beautiful. The next best time we visited was middle of September. A bit more rainy but no crowds and warmer weather.

we didn't do a ton of rides...but the few we did, did not have crazy line ups...except for Soarin'...and that was with a fastpass....thankfully, a CM let us in through the backdoor :goodvibes ....not sure if they still do this now that it's not YOAMD....whatever Disney has listed as Value Season is your best bet

We have been many times and based on crowds it seems best to go either just before or just after Thanksgiving. 2nd week of November or the 1st week of December. Decorations are usually up either time for an extra bonus. The weather may be a little chillier, but most people are either getting ready to travel or just traveled for Thanksgiving so there is a drop in crowd levels.

:yay:

I say there are none. Really each year the least crowded times do become more crowded as people catch on to it. Early December used to be an absolute graveyard. it is still quieter, but not as dead quiet as it used to be. Same with Sept .before the free dining promtion, Sept was also absolutely empty, now they are busier. Disney does a great job marketing these previously quieter times of year with special promtions. If I had to pick a time, I would say after Thanksgiving to the week BEFORE Christmas, and After Labor day till Beg October. They will be quieter, just not dead .

We went the week between Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving in November 2006 and had a great time. longest line we saw was about 40 mins one day for Soarin' and 30 mins for Test Track. We could almost walk right on to Mission Space, Space Mtn, etc. Evening EMH at MK we stayed on BTMR 4 times before we had to get off, Kali rode around a couple of times. Space mtn we walked right up. It was great and weather was perfect 80s during the day and Christmas decorations were up. That would be my suggestion.

We have been in July, 1 time, not only was it hot, the the kids who were 8 and 10 at the time, complained about the heat, it was also packed. I think that having to stand in the long lines made the heat worse, I think that if we could have bounced from ride to ride they wouldn't have noticed so much. We started going in October and it's definitely not as crowded or as hot. This year we are going December 12-19, I have never seen the Christmas decorations and I am soooo excited. :goodvibes

Mid January is super quiet. We walked straight on to almost every ride and the few that we had to line up for the wait was less then 5 minutes. We very easily got last minute ADR's and even got a walk-in at Chef Mickey's. The weather was nice, but I live in the cold north so it was warm to me. We only had to wear sweaters in the morning and evening.

I can't wait to go at that time of year again.

Someone mentioned July....we went last year in July because of a convention and it was shoulder to shoulder crowds. The ride lines by 11am were at least 60 minutes and FP's were gone.

The first two weeks after labor day, summer break has ended and convention season hasnt started yet. I have seen AKL drop from 93% booked before Labor day and two days afterwards down to 25% in two days and stay like that for two weeks.

After Columbus day in October to Veterns day in November, avoiding weekends and Halloween.

All of January except MLK week and New Years Week

Last 2 weeks of August

Ive also heard good things about May

To be sure, check out the dates schools have fall/spring break. We were there last October and it was more crowded than in previous visits.

I have been there the last week of January a couple of times and it was pretty quiet...

thepwa.... I hope you are right! I just booked our condo for Jan 23 - 30, 2010. But I agree with PP that early December 2008 was relatively quiet. A few Pop Warner groups and Cheer leaders, but not too disruptive.

i definatly think mid jan. to first week in feb.. The crowds are small.. On rides in no time.. its great

it used to be right after labor day in september. it's still slow then, but not as slow as in years past.

now i'd have to say the last week in january, first week in february. right before presidents weekend. now this is for crowds only, not weather. it can be chilly during this time of year.

this is from 13 years experience working at wdw

We really like the first week in October, our kids get two days off from school that week and the parks are not crowded at all.
