Let me get this straight (Anna/Elsa)

We waited in line like everyone else. Is this not how things work?

Of course you can just wait in line.

But as a parent, I never promise my kid that they WILL do something on a vacation. I say we HOPE to do it and it would be amazing if we did, but caution them. Managing expectations is really important to happiness.

Exactly. Anything can happen. You can be all set to meet a character when they become ill and have to go immediately. A thunderstorm can send you running. A child or parent can become ill overnight. Anything can happen to prevent things, so it's always best to help the small child temper their expectations.

Is it true that when they move to MK there are two rooms set up and they'll be two sets of Anna/Elsa? (I was thinking one room for FP and one for standby). Or am I making that up?

They would never tell you that. You just might find that some poeple are being sent to one room while others are sent to another. And magically everyone might meet the same people. Amazing how that works. Like at Disneyland in Toontown in Mickey's house...at least two rooms being used at the same time. We met Black and White Mickey while another group met Sorcerer Mickey. Same time! Spooky.

Follow my 3-step plan below and you'll be fine. 1. Show up about 45 minutes before park open on a day without morning EMH. Allow for time to get from parking to MK gates, if driving. 2. Go directly to A&E, do not pass GO, etc. 3. Done.

This is how we met Rapunzel in 2011.

[ Rapunzel?
You remember her...
She's so 2011.]

Wow! All these wait times sound ridiculous. Sorry, but all I can say is I'm happy I have a son who isn't at all interested in meeting the Frozen characters..

We just used this plan with great success at DL on Friday. I talked to two families that waited four hours to meet A&E. Much as my DD loves them, I'd only wait four hours if they were giving out sacks of cash after the meet and greet.

We got to the gates at 8:15 for a 9:00 open. Turnstiles opened at 8:30. We were a few layers back at the actual rope, and I was scoping out the competition. I saw a bunch of teens and figured they were headed to Space or BTMRR. The girls in princess dresses were a much bigger concern, but I figured I had more hustle than they do :) We made good progress and ended up waiting about 20 minutes or so. Much better than 4 hours!

Last night, I went online at midnight and booked my FP+ for A&E for June. There wasn't much available, so I was very excited to get a slot on the same day as our BOG dinner. I will grudgingly list this as an advantage of FP+ over the RD running of the bulls.

Just hoping that both A&E will be there. Elsa was MIA on Friday at DL. I suspect she called in sick. Maybe she was under the weather? :rotfl:

She's been busy wreaking havoc with the weather in Canada :p
