I’m a DL local but I haven’t been to the park in about a year. Last month I spent two weeks at WDW and after only being in DL for about an hour so far I have to say the app here is very poor reliability wise compared to Florida.

I was attempting to modify a lightning lane and the thing just crashed on me three times. It went to a nearly blank screen with an error stating it couldn’t load.

I went to pick up a mobile order and just had the screen up with order number. When I got to the counter and opened my phone it took 2 full minutes to access the stupid order info. The CM kept barking “order number. I need a number” at me while I said “I’m working on it”. That was frustrating and unnecessary all around.

There were a few other little instances I didn’t mentally take note of because I chalked it up to the place being busy or whatever but wow, this has been the worst app day I’ve had. Has anyone else experienced issues with Disneyland’s app? As well as not having issues in Florida?
 
I agree. I use the app in the parks several times a week and don't have those problems. There are a couple of spots in the park where I don't have the best cell service but that is a connection issue, not the app crashing.

When was the last time up updated the app? You might uninstall and reinstall it and see if it works better.
 
I reinstalled it a couple of weeks ago since I haven’t been in a while. I just deleted and reinstalled (restarted a bunch of time earlier) and it still seems slow but it’s working.

Are you in the parks today? I would go to one of the customer service kiosks and see if a CM can help.

Are you using Disney wifi? If so, that can really slow things down, especially on a busy day.

Not on the WiFi here today. I may check with a CM but at this point it’s fine. All the LL’s are gone now.

Thanks for all the tips and tech support. I truly miss the phone free times.
 
I experienced many, many app crashes on the iPhone app at WDW two weeks ago. I was really surprised.
Interesting! I was there for 17 days and had zero issues. I also connected to their WiFi and I haven’t been able to find WiFi here today. Save for right now in the GCH lobby.

I’m ok with it for now since I’m just cruising at this point due to the crowds and lack of LL’s left. However, it is frustrating and call me a curmudgeon but I am so tired of being in my phone. I try to put it away in my backpack then I forget what I have on the agenda and have to check. That is a “me thing” but still. I remember coming here and shutting off my phone, sticking it in my backpack and not looking at it until the end of the night. Now I carry a power brick! lol

I’ve been coming to DL since 1982 and live 90 min away so I shouldn’t care about this stuff. Heck, sometimes I visited and didn’t go on any rides. But now that I am not a key holder and on the so cal 3 day ticket, I feel inclined to try and get my money’s worth. I’m scheduled to come tomorrow in the rain which I usually love but I’m considering just heading home and getting some diner breakfast in Silverlake instead.

The WDW version of the app is pretty bad in terms of load times and crashes but I didn't feel like DL's was any worse when I visited last September. However both apps are leagues above Universal Orlando's app. Now THAT is hot garbage.
 
Coach, sorry you had all those problems! I have not had trouble using the app on my iphone at the park but I do not use it for all those things most people do like mobile order and mobile check out. But for all the ride purposes, I have not had any trouble.

Enjoy the rain and be glad you have it.,.it is so DRY here in CO...70 degrees all week...not good...

Can you cancel and use your 3rd day when it is not raining?

I am sure both backend and frontend share some tech between the apps. I wonder if they have some recent bugs added or something. Hopefully it gets fixed. When I used the DL app at our last trip in September, I had very few issues.

I totally understand! I feel like I spend too much time on my phone when I'm in the parks, too. Could you save your last day for another time? If you do go in I bet you'll have fun since the rain keeps people away alot of the time.
 
Can you cancel and use your 3rd day when it is not raining?
Yeah, I’m in magic key mindset re: reservations but I can cancel tomorrow and save that and my 3rd day for another time. I am leaning toward that. I LOVE the parks in the rain but I booked this prior to my massive WDW trip just a few weeks ago and I’ll be honest, I am Disney’d out!

I’ll come back in March or April before it gets too warm. I’m lucky to have the luxury of only living 75 miles away. I really appreciate all of you and the input and tips given today. Thank you.

Despite the crowds and the lack of LL’s I feel like I did well today! I finished out the night on Pirates which was basically a walk on during fireworks/pre-fantasmic. The weather was perfect and the cast members were in good spirits.
