Lesson learned. Need more days in Disney!!! Aug 2010 (NEW 1/20-COMPLETE)

I'm famous!!

I saw your trip report linked to your sig, and saw you were there the same time my family was. Sure enough, I'm the guy standing all the way to the right in the frame, in a green shirt, with my back turned to you and wearing the dark blue backpack. I don't normally slouch that much, I was busy talking to my 8yo son. I'm only up to page 20 or so, I'll catch up on the rest later, and look for more pictures of myself :rotfl:

This is a great TR, one of the best ever. :)

:welcome: and THANKS so much!!!

Wow, what a coincidink!!! So cool that you were in one of my photos!!!

Hey no fair!!! I got yelled at when I tried taking video in the stretching room at HM. :guilty:

I've often wondered if some of the pix we take would be viewed by someone who was in them and Yuki's were !!:banana:That is awesome !!!

Thanks for sharing the videos - I needed a Disney fix today! Good luck with your papers.

Pioneer89 So cool you are in Yuki's pic!:goodvibes I love it when that happens!

Anyone can pull off a beard! I bet you would make an AWESOME pirate!!

Oh, you would be the best skipper. I would ride your cruise over and over again. For some reason, that sounds kind of dirty...

I love making kids smile! It was also nice not to carry the sword around. It was about the size of my arm!

Mmmmm, I totally know what you mean about those turkey legs. And the floats!!!! Andrew LOVED his pineapple float. Said they tasted like pudding.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA That does sound kinda dirty. I love it. :rotfl:

I've always secretly wanted to buy one of those swords, but I don't want to carry it around all day, so I've never bought one. They're huge! I feel like I'd be accidentally stabbing myself with a plastic sword all day and that would be no fun.

I'm not a super huge fan of pineapple, or, I guess I should say I'm not a big fan of straight up pineapple without anything else, but I hear that at Aloha Isle, you can get a pineapple float with orange ice cream which sounds DELICIOUS. It would be so refreshing on a hot, sticky July day. It's definitely going on my list of things to try. :thumbsup2

Okay, caught up again!

I love all your pirate photos - I wish you would have still had it on when we met! :thumbsup2
But I do understand about the make-up being a pain in the heat!

I hope to NOT fall behind again! :goodvibes

Yeah...I knew if I had held onto that sword, I'd be stabbing myself a lot too. And I bruise easily!! Can you imagine me coming home from Disney covered in bruises? :rotfl2:

Oooooh, wow that float DOES sound good! I'll have to see if I can try that. I want to try the orange dole whip anyways. Mmmm, I think a dole whip would be nice ANY day of the year

Yeah, I was really hoping to show up as a pirate! Especially after sending that PM!!! I was so afraid we would have a hard time meeting up. It was just WAY TO HOT to keep it on. The heat just made it really itchy and uncomfortable.

Hi Yuki! On your question about the "fake" monorail at MCO: there is actually a real reason why it is fake (even though I think most people just say fake because it isn't at WDW).

A monorail is a train that only uses one rail instead of two as normal trains do - mono meaning one. At WDW you see the one beam and the monorail goes around it in a U-shape. The one at MCO is actually on two tracks that run paralled to each other and has in the middle the power line which makes it run. I think it actually has normal wheels like a bus, so it would not even be a real train running on rails. If it is a train, the technical term would be elevated train.

I guess most people seem to think monorail equals elevated train, but those are quite different things. You could have a monorail on the ground as well... Wikipedia might do a better job of explaining it than me... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monorail

Well, it was with his camera, so maybe he thought we were taking pictures? Are pictures not allowed too?

I think they allow pictures just no flash photography. I'm not sure why this CM told us to stop recording. I was pretty bummed. There was one time I went on HM and this woman would NOT stop taking pictures with the flash. I think she was Spanish so she didn't understand the narrator dude when he said "No flash pictures, please!"

Evening Yuki!!!

Evening Rosie!!

Ohhh, I had always thought they ran on one rail. Now I can see that they don't. Thanks for explaining that to me Magdalene!!

Or maybe she was PRETENDING she didn't understand. That's one of the advantages to being Chinese in Canada. I can always act like I don't understand! I can use it for English, but also for chinese because there are so many dialects and some Chinese kids here don't even know ANY Chinese!

I got myself a twitter account...

@YukiPhnx

I was working on my papers. Read some Shopaholic as a break, then felt the need to tell someone about it. I've got a blog, but this comment would be too small for a whole blog entry.

My best friend has suggested (more like, insisted) I get a twitter account.

So....in an act of procrastination, I created an account. I don't even have a smartphone!

Oh dear....

Alrights, back to the paper! Which is pretty interesting. I'm writing about how the Oscars is an example of the "I knew it all along" phenomenon. Fascinating stuff. :thumbsup2

I'm subbing! I know I'm super late on this but I'm here! I've seen you around on other TR's that I read. Today I've read your entire TR up to now and have been entertained by it all day. :goodvibes This is what comes of having a sick kiddo....between puki, I read Yuki!!! :thumbsup2 Yes, that was lame, I know. :rolleyes1

Anyhoo, I've enjoyed your TR and can't wait to read more popcorn::

Hey Blue! :welcome:

It's so great to see you here! I think I've been a lurker on your PTR...

Haha, I love lame jokes and statements :thumbsup2 I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself!

I LOVE my water bobble. At this moment....I've misplaced it...but I hope to locate it in one of the homes I stay in...

I saw them in a local store, but they were charging $15 for a bottle! I bought mine for $10! My family really likes the bobble, which means I'll be making another trip down to your neighbourhood soon! Actually, I'm planning on going at the end of April. I want to buy my mom a Coach bag for her birthday.

Hi, Yuki! I'm late to the party, but wanted to let you know that I spent all afternoon reading your delightful TR, and it was so much FUN!

Your enthusiasm and spunk are refreshing, and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading about your adventures....How I found your report is because I was searching for any mention of Japanese anime, and your TR came up. My 11-year old daughter is a HUGE anime fan, and so for an upcoming summer trip, I will be sure to take her to the pavilion in Epcot that has the anime.

I can't wait to read more installments - keep them coming!

Hey Sherri :welcome:  It's never too late to join in!!

Thanks a lot for your compliments. It was my 2nd trip, but I missed so much on the 1st that it feels like I'm discovering everything for the first time! Plus, I just LOOOVE being there of course :lovestruc

It's great to hear your daughter likes anime! Most parents of anime fans don't even really know what it is. I know my mom pretty much nodded and smiled every time I told her I was going to a convention, haha. I'm sure your daughter will really like the exhibit. She'll get to learn about the classics too! There's also a great section in the Mitsukoshi store filled with "How to draw manga" books and artbooks of different anime films such as Totoro and Spirited Away and LOTS of pokemon stuff as well as anime t-shirts!! She's going to go nuts for the stuff, like I was
