Less than TEN days to go; I can do this! *Updated 12/2*

I'm just so tickled with the Cinderella dress, I have to post one more picture.

Wait till you see the Snow White. The fabrics I got are soooo pretty. I'm going to be hunting the web for the Swarovski hot-fix crystals I want to affix to the hem. I'd love to find little red apples, but not sure that exists. Lol.

Well, just when things were looking up....

I've made it through 4 out of 5 days a week for the last couple weeks back at work. I get so fatigued still that I have to stay home and rest some.

It's a good thing I did today, because, as my husband and daughter were getting ready to leave this morning, I glanced at the dog and noticed her right eye looked a little like a red cauliflower. Ugh.

I had her in the vet's office as soon as they opened at 8. From 6:30am to 8am, there was no appreciable change in her eye - the "white" was red and swollen over the edges of the iris. We've had foreign body issues with her eyes before, so I was fairly certain that's what this was again. I get her into the office and look at the eye again, and it's vastly improved. Still red, but nowhere near as swollen. The vet sees her, does the flourescent dye check for lacerations/ulcerations, and says she thinks it was maybe an insect sting or a foreign body that came out in the car ride. No ulcerations or anything visible in/on her eye. Steroid drops dispensed for 7days, call if there's another problem. All's well.

In the meantime, while dealing with my cancer, we'd fallen behind on Miss Moo's vaccines, and I was almost out of heartworm meds, etc. Even though we were "walk-ins," the vet found time to get us all current. Apparently, my generic fipronil flea drops aren't doing a great job, as Miss Moo has picked up tapeworms. So, that gets treated, and we get to find new flea meds soon. *sigh*

In addition, there is another lump on her leg that they check out. For those who don't remember, at the end of last year, Minnie had a mast cell tumor removed from her chest.

So, they biopsied her leg lump, and it's baaaaAAAAaaack.

2-3 more weeks for me to save up some $$, and we'll have that removed. There goes $450+, after todays visit of $350. Ouch.

Then I when it get home, I notice another lump, on her ear this time. I just can't win. Will call the vet and give them a head's up. I suppose I can run her back in today if I have to. *sigh*

But, as the cherry on top of my morning, we get back in the car, I take a deep breath, and turn it on.... And realize the A/C isn't blowing. Not a single wheeze. In 85-degree-at-10am weather.

:lmao:

Can't a gal catch a break?!?!

Ok. Enough. Whining.

168 days 'till Disney!!!!
I'm still stalking an 8pm Cali grill 12/10, an 11-12:30-ish F! at H&V 12/11, and a 6:30 garden grill 12/17. Otherwise, everything is in the dreaded "planning doldrums."

I'm off to try and get some sleep now, if I can. :)

Well, the vet agreed to get us back in right away to look at the ear, and did another aspiration.

It's positive.

And the base of the ear is a bad spot for the lump to be in.

So, surgery costs just about doubled. Instead of being a quick excision in the side of her leg under mild sedation with local anesthetic, it's now a full-on total anesthesia proposition. They are going to do the best they can, and see if they can do a "single layer" excision on the ear - which will leave her with an open site (no tissue left to suture) that can take weeks to heal. Barring that, they will try a full-thickness "wedge" cut out of her ear. That would likely heal faster, but they risk damaging the main artery that feeds the ear. That would result in non-healing and loss of the ear entirely. The final option is to completely amputate the ear. My poor doggie!

They'll snip out the lump in her leg at the same time, but are obviously more concerned about the procedure on the ear.

After talking with the vet, and being reassured that, even though this is round two, she can still have a normal lifespan, we've scheduled her surgery for July 14th. I've decided to forgo the pathology study afterwards, because that was another $330 or so, and these things are apparently going to keep popping up every now and again no matter what "stage" the tumor is. Her last one was "stage1," or "low grade," and I just don't feel like the staging info is that important at this point. They also wanted the biopsy/pathology to confirm adequate margins, but if the darn things are just going to keep coming back, I don't see the point.

Anyhow, i'm overwhelmed at this point, and just so tired of dealing with *stuff*. December can't come fast enough. I need a break!

Almost forgot to report the good news, though - on the way home, my A/C started blowing again. LOL. I guess it just needed a break, too. :rolleyes2

Hugs to you and your fur baby (and whole family)

So sorry to hear about your fur baby! Hope the surgery goes well.

Hope you are feeling well too, and that AC keeps chugging along!

Cinderella dress is amazing! I love it! Also your ADRs look great hopefully a little stalking will better your times :)

Thank you for the kind words. :)

I'm staying home again in the hopes of actually resting. I'm going to try calling my GP to see if I can get an appointment to go over my increasing sleep problems. There's got to be something I can do to feel rested.

That I can't feel rested feeling is the worst! I say call the doctor worst case they have no tips or suggestions (which I doubt!).

Good luck!

Well, in disney "news" for me today, my stalking has resulted in getting my F! H&V moved from 1:50 to 12:45, which is a vast improvement. :) I can relax on stalking that one a little bit.

In "doctor news," the visit was somewhat productive. She doesn't think I need to change my sleep meds, just to take them more regularly for a while, instead of off-and-on, and has also put me on a maintenance med for depression and anxiety. I've managed to go for over 10 years without those kinds of meds, but I suppose I've gotta do what I've gotta do. Will see how I feel after the initial "side-effects" phase passes in a couple of weeks and things taper off.

I hope everything's going well for all y'all!

Just got our DME luggage tags today, much earlier than I expected, but YAY!

And they sent us two sets. We're flying southwest, so we get two free checked bags each, and it's nice to not have to worry about requesting any extras. :)

You poor thing! When it rains, it pours, as they say. Hug and kiss your sweet puppy for me, please!

Hey, that's something! :thumbsup2

Wow, that is FAST! I've never gotten a client's DME tags this early. How awesome!!! :hyper:

I'm having to resist the urge to put them on my as-yet unpacked luggage. LOL.

I honestly haven't even decided if we're going to let them take our bags, or grab them ourselves, but I'm just so darn excited to have the tags!

It's been a while since I've had a chance to post, so I just wanted to let folks know I'm still alive and kicking.

I unexpectedly received a promotion at work, and have been swamped and exhausted. LOL. I've never been any kind of supervisor before, and it's so much more work than I expected. I'm loving that I can help my colleagues a little more now, though, and am grateful for the opportunity and the confidence my boss has in me.

There's nothing really new on the disney front here - I've not even had time to properly stalk ressies lately!

I hope this finds everyone doing well!

Almost forgot - Minnie Pearl came through her surgery with flying colors. And she still has both ears! They managed to just take a wedge out, so her left ear stands up a little more than the right, but it's great they didn't have to take the whole thing off!

Hopefully no more recurrences. She and I are now tied. Lol.

Managed to snag my 20% room-only discount this morning! Am tickled silly. It's a great way to start a Monday. But that also means it's all downhill from here. Lol.

No other real Disney news this morning. Got tired of stalking the Cali grill for an 8pm, and switched to Yachtsman - it's just our backup for Morimoto's, and DH was intrigued by the charcuterie. Moved the kids club ressie from the wilderness lodge one to the sandcastle club at YC/BC, which is where we were going to put her for Morimoto's anyway. It's all coming together!

141 days!

If it makes you feel better, I've already sorta started packing.

I feel like I should offer both congratulations and condolences!

I can understand that. I would love a supervisor/managers paycheck, but lord knows I have zero interest in actually supervising or managing people. I am happiest when I can just show up, be left alone to do my work, and go home. :goodvibes

I'm in a desperate lull of little planning to be done! It's driving me craaaaazy! :scared:

Congratulations!!! :woohoo: I didn't even bother, since I know the Little Mermaid rooms are never included on discounts, so I missed out on that excitement.

I think Yachtsman looks AMAZING. It's totally on my list for 2017 when I'll be splurging on the DxDP for the first time! ::yes::

I'll be sure to post details of our yachtsman visit. :)

I finally got working on the Snow White dress, and once I sat down, it came together pretty quickly. I've still got to put the zipper in it and tidy up a few threads here and there, but it's just about done. I'd like some kind of red sparkly embellishment at the bottom, but that's a low priority at the moment. Lol.
image.jpg image.jpg

I also found some ADORABLE pink corduroy with disney cupcakes all over it and bought a yard - gotta figure out what to make with it now, but I just couldn't pass it up.
image.jpg

I'm leaning towards a jumper, but haven't had any success in getting little monster to wear jumpers, so I'm pondering....

Not exactly disney-related, but I had another sewing project today.
image.jpg
Two weeks ago, I bought a new car. I hadn't planned on it till after the disney trip, but when DH's Hyundai blew a head gasket, it was kindof decided for us. So, now, I have a beautiful 2015 honda crv, with nice light tan interior. Little monster can't grasp the concept of "keep your filthy sneakers off the back of my seat," so I had an emergency sewing session today and made a seat-back cover with pockets. :) it's made of outdoor canvas fabric, so should be able to take a beating. For having no pattern or anything, I'm really pleased with it.
