Lesli's Changing Life at 40 Journal

Yesterday didn't get better. I was tired all day and just couldn't shake it. After talking to a few people, I think it was the drastic change in weather because there were a number of people that had the same problem. I just couldn't get warm and it just set the mood for the day. Warm weather can't get here soon enough. Today is supposed to be in the 50's, but I am doubting that it gets there.:sad1:

I didn't do too much on my desk, did take a nap and that still didn't help much (I was so tired, that I fell asleep before I could finish reading the first 3 paragraphs of an into to a new book, how sad is that?). Althought the kids and I dug out a puzzle and started working on it. Just something different to do and engage them a little more since this week, I decided that we would take a break from computer and video games. DS6 was so funny, he went and grabbed a bunch a plastic eggs and hid them around the house to find later. Of course, he was invisible and it was "amazing" that eggs just kept showing up in strange places.;) Sometimes, I guess you just have to stop and enjoy the kids.

Food yesterday hit a few snags. Lunch was a hot dog and doritos. Later, I had more doritos. I had 4/5 bite size snickers......that might actually be a whole candy bar.:confused3 A few jelly beans. Here's the thing, I actually thought the candy was too sweet, guess it doesn't matter when you are tired. Something to think about. Supper was ham, little corn pudding, little baked beans, and a roll. After 9pm, DH made popcorn and I ate a small bowl of that. It's that tired thing again, since I have really been doing well with not eating late at night. Water was not great.

On to a new day.
Food today:
Breakfast - 1 egg omelet w/gr pepper, onion & cheese, fresh pineapple, 1 c milk, 1/2 c grapefruit juice
AM snack - banana
Lunch - HC chicken noodle soup & 4 crackers w/butter
PM snack - veggies w/ little dip
Supper - ??? Panera if out, maybe an LC dinner if at home

Goals today:
1. Some bookwork
2. Some work on the family project
3. Get to bed early

Weight is up a bit today. My guess is because I haven't really been eating well in the last few days and water has really been off. Of course, exercise would help. Not sure what to do in that area.

I need to make a plan for when I will work on certain things so that I can get some of these one time things done, such as the family project and tackling that laundry/bath area. Somehow there just isn't enough time in the day.

Better get going. Lot's of work to do. Everyone have a great day!

Hi Lesli,

I hear you about this weather. Our kids are off for Spring Break this week and the weather has been cloudy, rainy, and just plain yucky. I find it's hard to get motivated when the weather doesn't cooperate.

I like how you have assessed your progress and how you reward yourself once you reach those mini goals. You are doing a great job!:cheer2:

I hope you have a wonderful day ahead!

Thanks for the encouragement, Tracy.

Yesterday was not very good. The weather was still bad, I felt like I was having a "cloudy day hangover", just couldn't get the energy and again I had a hard time getting warm. Thankfully, today is a sunny day.:goodvibes

Food for the most part was as planned, but I did eat Doritos (too many) before lunch and during the afternoon. Also, I had a few too many nibbles of jelly beans. Too sweet, so I am done with those. Supper was a hot dog, some doritos :rolleyes1 (I am not even going to let DH bring home any more chips, the small bags that we can split over 1 meal are fine from time to time). Also had part of a wine cooler and 2 thin mints w/ glass of milk later. I know that part of the problem was that I was tired and trying to compensate for that, which you would think I would know by now that it doesn't work. Also, I was feeling overwhelmed, but I think that is related to being tired. Water not so good.

I did manage to get a few things planned for the summer and set up, did some bookwork, and worked on the family project. I just have to keep moving forward.

Needless to say, the weight is up a bit, but I think much of it is water related along with some of the unneccessary snacking. Time to change that now before it gets out of hand.

Food today:
Breakfast - 1 fried egg, fresh pineapple, 2 strips bacon, 1 c milk, 1/2 c grapefruit juice
AM snack - small banana
Lunch - panera
PM snack - cheese, veggies
Supper - chicken, pasta, gr beans

Goals today:
1. no mindless snacking
2. plenty of water

Gotta go. I am off for the consult with the eye surgeon, then we will run errands.

Have a great day!

Glad you are getting back on track, Lesli! I hear you about Doritos....there are 5 HUGE bags of them in my pantry & I keep going and staring at them.

Hope you're having a good day today & that the weather is a bit better.

Try to get some rest...I know that when I'm tired, food is a much bigger challenge!

I hear you about the Doritos, Lesli...Those have always been a favorite snack of mine. :lovestruc

I hope the weather improves out your way soon. We're expecting sun and 60 today. I'm glad because I almost forgot what the sun looked like. ;)

Have a wonderful day ahead, my friend.

It's so nice to know that doritos is a problem for others as well.;) Thanks, ladies.

Yesterday was pretty good with a few slips, but at least water was 80oz which really helped so I was able to drop a few of thos weekend lbs. Just a bit more and I will be back to where my ticker is. Then it is all downhill for the rest of the month.

I stuck with the plan through lunch. At Panera, I had 1/2 ceaser salad, 1/2 turkey artichoke sandwich, an apple & water. The cashier kept trying to offer more fat than I needed. First she asked which baguette I wanted with my meal rather than asking which side (apple, chips OR baguette). I love the bread but figured I had that with my sandwich. Then she asked if I wanted to add chicken to my 1/2 salad. Ok, don't I have meat on the sandwich I just ordered? Why do I want to eat more? Then it was do you want a cookie with the meal. Jeez! Can't we just have one question to slightly increase the total of the ticket? I just politely said that I was trying to make my meal healthy. Briefly, before leaving I thought about getting some bread to take home, but I have decided that unless I can use it ASAP with our supper meal then I will skip otherwise we will just snack on bread.

We ate lunch late, so I missed the PM snack, although, I did have a couple almonds and a sm piece of dark chocolate later. For supper, we had leftovers. I had a little bit of ham and a little bit of corn pudding. Later, I finished off the very very small piece of cheesecake left.:rolleyes1 A much better day than I had been having lately.

I met with the eye surgeon and I can do the surgery, so that is coming up in a couple of weeks. We went over the particular risks for me, but as it turns out, I already have those risks even without the surgery. I learned quite a bit about eyes yesterday and all the equipment they have to measure things is very interesting. As it turns out, I am not an ideal candidate for the Lasik, but I can do the PRK which is just a different method and means a bit more healing. I am so excited.

Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 egg omelet w/gr peppers & portobellos, little cheese, 1/2 c grapefruit juice, 1 c milk, fresh pineapple
AM snack - few almonds
Lunch - 1/2 roast beef sandwich w/spinach, gr peppers, pear
PM snack - veggies
Supper - pizza night & 6 oz pop

Today's goals:
1. family project
2. clean laundry/bath area & hopefully start mudding
3. family walk this evening

Today should be a fairly quiet day, so I am going to get as much of the family project done as possible. At least get my program to spit out the rough draft so that we can start editing and adding pictures. This afternoon, I really need to get a start on that laundry area. So much to do!

Everyone have a great day!

You are doing a great job, Lesli! Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

That's great that you are able to have the PRK surgery. :goodvibes What is the healing time versus the Lasik procedure?

I hope you have a wonderful, sunny and warm weekend ahead!:cool2:

Thursday.....
I stayed for the most part on plan with food. I think the PM snack was some almonds, a little too much pizza for supper, but not bad and I know there were a couple of jelly beans and maybe 2 bite size snickers.

Most of the day was spent on that family project, which got alot done. However, that means there are still plenty of things that I need to get done. We didn't get in our walk, but all in all a good day.

Yesterday....
Food was pretty good and water was great at 96+ oz. Breakfast was 1 egg omelet w/portobello & little cheese, 1 c grapefruit juice, 2 strips bacon. AM snack was a few almonds. Lunch was a chicken salad sandwich and some potato chips. My mom stopped by and it was fun to talk with her over lunch. PM snack, ??? not sure, I may have missed it, but I know I had a couple of jelly beans. Waiting for supper, I had a few almonds. I thought DH and the kids were going to be back soon as they went out to hit a few golf balls.........no one told me they left town.:confused3 Supper was 1/2 roast beef sandwich on 7 grain and a few chips. Afterwards, I had 2 bite size snickers. Water was 96+ oz.

Most of the morning was spent working on my family project. I got the reports to print out a good rough draft, but it was only in PDF so I couldn't get it to transfer to a word program well without losing much content and formating.pirate: So that took up much time. The afternoon was spent trying to figure out how I was going to get the reports so that I can edit them without wasting too much time worrying about formating. Bottome line, I think I need to get an Adobe program. Fortunately, my DBIL nows alot about computers has the program that I can try it before I purchase. He is pretty sure that it is is the way I want to go. Someday's writing everything by hand is much faster.:rolleyes1

Another plus for the day, I have one FAFSA down, one to go.

The other thing that I did yesterday was learn to relax productively. Ok, I used to do this, but have allowed life to get too busy and have "forgotten". The kids and I set up a small puzzle the other day and I worked on it off and on while dealing with the computer programing situation. At the end of the day, I remembered /realized how important it was to have something else on the side that can be calming. Not once while dealing with the frustrations did I get too stressed and overeat or snack mindlessly. If fact, I wasn't stressed at all, just looked at the problem as something I have to deal with. The puzzle really helped keep my mind in a focused state and not stressing about the little details.:woohoo: Later in the evening, before bed, I picked up a book to read for a bit. It was amazing how relaxed it made me feel to have a different routine than normal. I think I will continue this. It's all about balance.

Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 fried egg, mushrooms & gr peppers lightly tossed in the pan, 1 c grapefruit juice.
AM snack - probably miss (early lunch)
Lunch - butterfly porkchop on bun
PM snack - a snack bar
Supper - spaghetti if at the camping resort or we may go somewhere else

Today's goals:
1. clean the laundry area (I really need this done)

We are off to check out opening day activities at the camping resort. Unfortunately, we are going to get some rain today, but hopefully, we will get a few activities in. The great thing is that they have all kinds of activities through the summer and we don't have to be camping there to participate in them.

Hope that you all have a great weekend!

Hi Lesli,

Sounds like you have had a super busy weekend so far. I'm glad you were able to work on the puzzle and relax a bit. :goodvibes

I hope you have a nice Sunday!

Saturday...
Food was pretty much as planned. At the camp resort, I ate just over 1 snack bar. (I was trying the Oatmeal to Go bars and didn't really care for them, so went with something else later.) Supper was at PH. We were there in time for buffet, but I tried to make fairly wise choices considering. I had some ceasar salad (yes, regular would have been better), cottage cheese, broccolli, 4 sm pieces of pizza (fortunately, they cut them smaller on the buffet) and what equated to maybe 1 cinnamon breadstick. Oh, yes, pop. I did get plenty of water in during the day though.

We enjoyed being outdoors and the kids think they will really enjoy being at the camp resort this summer. We played mini golf, checked out where the pool is, checked out the cardio room and then they did some coloring while discussing with the activities director some ideas that she might try, and played on the playground equipment. Of course, there is much more to do, but we just didn't have time. DD11 hurt her foot, not bad, but it was a warning that she needed proper shoes since mom's warning just wasn't enough.:rolleyes1 Then her day became worse when she accidentally poured hot soup on part of her hand at PH when she was getting a bowl of soup. Fortunately, it was ok and we managed to get the burn cooled quickly. It's always something. But the kids had a good time and DS6 is looking forward to being outdoors and camping. I realized how relaxed I was feeling and started looking at this summer a bit differently. This will definitely give me a chance to refocus alot of things which I am really looking forward to. Also, DH and I decided that we are going to hold off on the treadmill for home since there is one at the camp resort. We will be camping an average of 14 days a month, so we will use the equipment there during those times and then do other exercising here at home. This fall, we can then look at getting one for home so that we can continue through the winter. Just a way to even out the finances and "use what is available".

Yesterday....
I was very tired. The day started out fine and church was an hour later since they were doing a youth service. It was cute. Afterwards we had a brunch potluck, which I managed to get through fine. But then in the afternoon, I ended up taking a nap. It's called staying up too late the night before and searching the real estate market in FL. Yes, this weahter is getting to me. The rain in the morning was warm here, but then it seemed later to turn a bit cold and damp. The other thing weighing me down is the fact that I spent part of the morning and early afternoon figuring out computer programs. The one that DBIL thought would work, probably wont. Then I found that the program I am generating from has some bugs and they have been having this issue since last summer.:scared1: So needless to say the reason why the reports are losing formating and content is because to the database program I am using.pirate: Which means I go back to the one I was using before. Which means I have a bit more editing, but what do you do.:confused3 Also, I am getting behind in everything again. Somehow, I just can't seem to get a good routine........I guess that happens when you keep putting things off to do what others need done.

Food was ok, but definitely not great. Ok, I will say that it was portioned, but water wasn't good. Breakfast was 1 c milk and 1/2 c grapefruit juice. AM snack/Brunch was 1 biscuit w/gravy (very thin gravy and not much if that makes a difference), fruit, little bit of egg & sausage casserole, a piece of blueberry coffee cake & a piece of breakfast bread (each about the size of 2 bites). Lunch was 1/2 roast beef sandwich on 7 grain w/ some chips (crumbs). I had 2 snickers bites and 1 sm piece of dark choc. Supper was a porkchop sandwich, 6 tater rounds & 3 fries (both baked). Needless to say, I didn't do much of the things I really needed to do. Up late again talking to DD21 and searching real estate (I can always dream;)).

Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 egg omelet w/gr pepper, little cheese & mushrooms, 1 c milk, 1/2 c pomegranite juice.
AM snack - banana
Lunch - tuna rollup & veggies
PM snack - yogurt
Supper - chicken broccolli ring & salad. I have all the ingredients and I will make this and freeze whatever anyone doesn't eat.

Today's goals:
1. bookwork - have a deadline
2. bills
3. the laundry room, no excuses since I am on a time crunch
4. work on family project, but that will be later

Lots to do today and I am trying to stay positive that I can get it all done or at least a good portion.

Hope that everyone has a good day!

Hi Lesli,

I'm glad that you had a good time at the campsite on Saturday. I think that holding off on the purchase of the treadmill is a good idea since you will have access to a fitness room when you go camping.:goodvibes

Sending some :wizard::wizard:your way to help you get done with the family project and the other things on your list today. I hope you have a great day!

Thanks for the encouragement Tracy.

Yesterday was a mixed bag of sorts. My food plan was not followed.:sad2: However, water was at least 64oz, but for weight loss, a bit more is better. I think I had a banana for the AM snack, but I can't remember. Lunch was a pork chop sandwich, just didn't feel like making tuna since it was a little late. I had 2 snickers bites and a few jelly beans. Late PM I had a tbsp of pb. That wasn't doing it, so I had some almonds. Supper was a bowl of frosted shredde wheat, too large of a bowl. Then I had some chips that I begged DH for, knowing he would bring a large bag and I didn't ask for a small.:rolleyes1 Then there was 2 thin mints. I think there was something else, but I don't remember. The result in the evening? I felt miserable! I wouldn't call it mindless munching since I was very much aware, but I would say that it was from lack of structure. I waited too long to eat, didn't know what to eat (everyone was off to baseball practices, which of course threw their dinners off as well), and I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. At any rate, it wasn't good and I can easily see how I could cross the line, so today, I need to rein things in.

I did, however, get at least a small portion of all of my goals done. Most of the laundry room is cleaned out and ready to mud although as of today, we may be making some changes to the duct work. That may be a few weeks off, depends on when it can get done if we do it. Trying to address the problem of my office being cold. So, I will talk to DH and let him know what the heating and air guy said. Of course, that is good news as far as less obstructions while putting in the ceiling of that area, but a delay as that means DH will have to change some of the dry wall where he cut a smaller portion, he will need to replace it with a larger portion. So that may change when I mud and paint or maybe I will do most of it and just leave that small section. Who knows, it is always something.:confused3

Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 egg omelet w/gr peppers, little cheese & mushrooms, 1/2 c pomegranite juice, 1 c milk
AM snack - missed (breakfast was late & I knew lunch was going to be heavier)
Lunch - pork chop sandwich & some chips (maybe just over a serving) (Just ate a jelly bean:rolleyes1)
PM snack - banana
Supper - panera if I am out, maybe an HC fresh start pasta if I am in or HC soup

Today's goals:
1. Stay positive (just take things one step at a time)
2. Stick with the food plan to keep from eating poorly (isn't it amazing how we still have to remind ourselves?)
3. Tackle the family project
4. Begin mudding the laundry area

So far, I am doing well today and I feel pretty good, although warm weather would definitely hlep! He had the furnace guy here for awhile to fix a minor problem that was becoming major. Check that off the list.;) I then decided to do a bit of cleaning. I tackled most of the kitchen (still an area to finish), my office (mainly vacuuming and straightening what I could), and vaccumed all the other rooms. It is amazing how much better I feel, not just because it looks better, but also because I was up moving around more. Also, I think it helped to do something other than the norm. At any rate, I am feeling better and not as overwhelmed.

Quite a few other things to get to today, so time to go. Everyone have a wonderful (and hopefully warm) day.

Hi! :yay:

I'm always amazed at the hive of activity you manage. It's so interesting to listen to all of your plans and projects. I hope the laundry room project goes well--home improvement is so stressful, but ultimately worth it.

I think you did a good job pin-pointing what went wrong the other day. Sometimes if the schedule is thrown off and an obvious meal idea is not right in front of you, it gets hard to make a good choice. I'm glad to hear you picked yourself up, dusted yourself off, and got right back to it. Good for you!

I hope you get a chance to enjoy the sunshine and gorgeous weather we've got going here. Have a fantastic day! :)

Hi Lesli,

I wanted to stop by and WISH you a wonderful day today! How is your family project coming along?

It's great to see you guys! Things are soooooooo busy here, which isn't all bad.

Really quick....
Tuesday I did manage to stay positive and water was pretty good. DMom came over for lunch and everything was right on plan. Then DH brought home some salsa to try and it was delish, so I had a few chips and salsa therefore I skipped my PM snack. Then DD21 called and I talked to her for hours, lost track of time, and by the time I decided to get supper I really wasn't hungry and didn't know what I wanted so I did a few chips and a half pb sandwich. There may have been something else, but I don't know what. Needless to say, I didn't get to all of my task, but I was productive since I was helping DD21 plan a wedding!:bride:

She and her boyfriend of a couple of years have decided that they are going to marry and it is so exciting. Fortunately, they have things planned out pretty well around schooling and his training, so we have plenty of time to plan and finalize details. Although, I do know that 2 years can go quickly.

So now I have a very good reason to lose the weight. I refuse to be a mother-of-the-bride in a frumpy dress just because I didn't change my weight when I could have. There are some absolutely gorgeous MOTB dresses that won't make me look 80 years old and I am looking forward to trying them all on once I take off this weight. DD21 already has her dress picked out. Actually, they already have quite a few things planned that can be pulled off at little or no cost and still have a very elegant wedding because they know the right people . Did I say I was excited?!:goodvibes

Yesterday......
I had planned to get to that mudding, but then I went shopping with DH for some much needed items and he took me to lunch which is always nice. I know I worked on something, but I can't remember what. Got some more wedding ideas. Went with DD11 to a church dinner. Spent the rest of the night lining up a coach for DS6's soccer team and calling everyone on the list to make sure we all know what we are doing. The game is Saturday and we still didn't have a coach. When was someone going to tell us? So, I guess by default we have stepped in to help organize things. Oh well.

Food yesterday was pretty good and water was great! Breakfast was 1 fried egg, ham, 1/2 7 grain toast w/jelly, 1 c milk, & 1/2 c pomegranite juice. AM snack was skipped. Lunch was a small ceasar salad & a sm bowl of french onion soup at Applebees. The soup was warm, almost cold and the bread in the bowl had nearly soaked up the broth. It tasted fine, but it would have been great had they not waited so long to deliver it to our table. PM snack was missed since I knew I was going to eat cookout food at the church dinner. There I had a hamburger, some baked beans, a few chips, and 1 choc chip cookie. I think I had a snicker bite. Later, I had a few chips and salsa. Actually a pretty good day.

I am soooooo close to having that last bit back off to meet my ticker. Probably would have it off I had enough sleep last night (too busy with wedding plans:rolleyes1).

Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 fried egg, 1 c milk, ham, 1/2 7 grain toast w/jelly, 1/2 c grapefruit juice
AM snack - missed, just extremely busy and didn't stop
Lunch - large salad w/craisins, real turkey, & a bit of dressing for moisture (finished off the Doritos, fortunately not many left, enough of the chip incident lately, at least it is not near as bad as in the "before" but might as well quit while I am ahead so to speak.)
PM snack - probably miss since I am not hungry and supper is heavy
Supper - pizza night & 6 oz pop (I will not go overboard on pizza)

Today's goals:
1. Get plenty of water - hard to do when you are busy
2. Work on family project

So far, today has been a whirlwind of activity, but I must I really like the fact that things are getting done. Not only am I dealing with things that are coming in the door ASAP, but I am dealing with things that have been hanging around.

After taking the kids to school, I stopped to pick up the stuff for soccer, went to the store to talk with DH, came back home for breakfast and put together all the info for the soccer parents to hand out tonight, talked to a friend for a few minutes, went to the flooring store to discuss options for our bath/laundry area since the stick tiles probably won't stick long to cold cement (guess I will take them back), stopped at the store to show DH the floor sample I picked up and give him the info, talked to my mom for about quite a few things, went back to the flooring store to place the order and return the sample, came home to eat lunch, talked with DD21 for a few minutes, picked up the kids from school, came here...........:faint:. Is it bedtime, yet?;)

I had planned things a bit differently, but oh well. I still need to get kids to soccer practice and start mudding that bath area, which I will get done tonight. Hopefully, late tonight, I can also work on the family project since there is much I need to do before Monday.

.....And that is just the start to my weekend. Good news is that I will have my new washer and dryer next week. The floor may not be down, but I will have the walls done, painted, and all the dust cleaned up. If we have to move the washer and dryer for a few days while they do the floor, we can do it. Not idea, but at least I won't have that fine dust in my new machines and it will be done so that the family can FINALLY use the space.

I will talk to you all later. Everyone have a great day!

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! :cool1:

Sorry, I have less than no time for a "real" message, but I'm so happy for your DD and your family!!!!!!!!

Congrats to her and her intended! I hope you all have tons of fun planning the big day!!!

:woohoo::yay::banana::goodvibes

:dance3: (try not to do this at the reception)

Thanks, Pearlieq!:goodvibes I am sure we will have tons of fun planning.

Well, last night kind of fizzled as far as energy goes. I think I did skip the PM snack and I ate just 2 bites more than 1/2 a pizza for supper. Which is really good. Water was at least 64 oz, but it may have been more. All in all a good food day. We did the soccer practice and I think we have everyone set to go for Saturday. Then DH volunteers us to take over and head up the soccer league in town. If it comes to fruition, I know we can do it and we will be fine, but it is just another reason why I really need to get things caught up so they can stay that way. I did not get to the mudding. I was so tired that about 9pm I was practically falling asleep on my desk.

This morning, I was just tenths of a lb away from my ticker so I am hoping that I can get under that or meet it tomorrow.

Food today:
Breakfast - 1 fried egg, ham, 1 c milk, 1/2 c grapefruit juice, 1/2 slice 7 grain w/jelly
AM snack - banana
Lunch - large salad w/turkey, craisins, grapenuts for crunch & little dressing
PM snack - cheese & crackers
Supper - ?????, maybe BLT's and potato salad
Later, but not too late - maybe a small piece of desert, but only if there is a good one

Goals today:
1. mudding the bath area
2. plenty of water

I have not done too much today. Just did some work on the family project, but there is lots more to do. Also, I have been putting off doing the basement. After yesterday, I am still dragging and the other problem is just that things feel a bit overwhelming, so kind of out of sight out of mind. Although, I know that is not the answer. However, the good news is that I haven't resorted to mindless munching due to "trying" to put things off.:thumbsup2 A step at a time, right?;)

Well, I now have to go do the mudding (actually, physically do it this time and not go over it in my head) and then I need to get cleaned up to go to a GS event this evening. DD11 is moving up a level. After that, I will tackle some paperwork of some sort.

I hope that everyone has a nice, warm weekend.:wizard:

Congratulations to your DD and her fiance!!!!! That is so exciting!! I hope everyone has a lot of fun planning for their special day! :bride: :groom:

Have a wonderful weekend, Lesli!!! I hope it's sunny and warm out your way too!:cool2:

Well, the good news is that I am back on the losing side. I am officially down another .2 lbs. Not much, but at I am back on track with my ticker and working further down.

Friday, everything was on track until the PM snack. For that, I just went with some cheese & turkey (the turkey was really good and lots of protein). Then I went down to mud the laundry area so I missed supper, which was fine since I wasn't hungry. Cleaned up and went to the GS event, of which I was asked to speak at. There I had 1 baby eclair (about 2 bites worth) and a sliver of apple pie. Actually, I think I did great considering that it was a dessert buffet. Back home, I had an HC Fresh Start pasta & meat sauce. It was just after 8, but I figured if I didn't have something a bit more substantial then I would eat anything I could find. At 300 cal for a meal, you can't go too wrong. Water was 80+ oz.

I tried to do all the mudding I could that night, but then DH wasn't home to move the washer and dryer so I couldn't get to that area.

Yesterday....
We were up early to get ready for the soccer games. For breakfast, I had scrambled eggs w/ little cheese, 1/2 slice toast, ham, 1 c milk, 1/2 c grapefruit juice. Dropped off DD11 for her game, took DS6 to fill in for another game since the team was so short. After both games, we had some time to kill until DS6's "real" game, so we just hung out and I brought along some healthy snacks. I had some cheese, crackers & summer sausage. Then DS6 played his game and I officially became a "soccer mom" since I went down to the goals to help the kids know what they are supposed to do in certain situations. I never in my life thought that I would be helping to teach a sport, but I did and it was fun. Of course, it helps that I understand soccer a bit better, but I am not a sports person.

By the time we came home after visiting with DH at the store a bit, I was exhuasted. Did anyone ever tell you that you shouldn't sit down on a busy day? Well, I did.......mistake....after that it was hard to get going with much energy on other things. Lunch was a pork chop sandwich and some Doritos (probably about 2 servings:rolleyes1). I think there may have been something else, but I don't remember. Then I went back to finish mudding the areas that I didn't get to the night before, but that didn't last long as I had zero energy. I still have the section around the shower area, but that is a smaller area and won't stir up as much dust if I can't get fully sanded before the new equipment comes. The problem with being busy sometimes is not having enough dedicated time all at once to work on something. I guess I should really just learn to deal with do some of these projects a few hours at a time even if it takes me weeks, then they will finally be done. But I tend to wait until I have lots of time and that just isn't happening.

Supper was 1/2 a pizza and 12 oz pop. Everyone was dragging by the time we ate, which was late, so we went the supper easy route. Water was at least 64 oz, I think. Did some planning with DD21 and then later in the evening, DD19 and I did some planning so that we could have a few surprises of our own. This is so much fun!:goodvibes

Today's food:
Breakfast - 1 c milk, 1/2 c grapefruit juice
AM snack - Pancakes & sausage (Fireman's pancake breakfast)
Lunch - large salad w/turkey, grapenuts, craisins & little dressing (just love this salad and it is so filling since it is mainly lettuce)
PM snack - banana
Supper - ??? not sure (I am really horrible lately with planning supper, something to work on)

Today's goals:
1. Finish mudding the laundry area, should go much quicker on the second go around.
2. Clean and organize my office.
3. Work on family project.

Not much going on today, so I should definitely be able to tackle my goals without much problem. Just keep reminding myself that a little at a time will get them done and many of these things are one time only projects that once finished will free up some of my time.

Everyone have a great and wonderful Sunday!

Yesterday started out according to plan, but didn't stay that way. I think the wedding planning is starting to take too much time from other areas.;) It is kind of hard not to sit at the computer and just research and look for various things for the wedding and get ideas and such. So much fun! It's all about balance and today, I am really trying to work towards that.

Food yesterday could have been better, but it could have been worse as well. At the pancake breakfast, I had about 1 1/2 pancakes, less than 2 sausage patties, and some scrambled eggs. There was definitely plenty of food left on my plate, but I just couldn't eat it all. Then of course, I was so full, that I wasn't hungry for lunch, so that went later and I had turkey and cheese. Later, a few Doritos (they are gone so I don't have to worry about the temptation). For supper, I had a pork chop sandwich and some pasta salad, followed by 2 thin mints. Oh yeah, I did eat about 10 jelly beans and 4 snickers bites (thankfully, they are gone). Water was great, at least 80+ oz.

I did manage to contact family members to continue progress on the family book, so a good chunk of info should be flowing in soon. Also, I tackled part of my office to begin organizing it. I even went so far as taking a tote and stickers so that I could label and put aside anything for the garage sale in a month. I don't usually do garage sales, but it has been awhile and I am mainly using it as an deadline excuse to get rid of all things unnecessary. Hopefully, it will be a good turnout since it is town wide. If it doesn't go then, I will donate what is left over. Then the following week is the town cleanup so we can junk anything that is not appropriate for garage saling. I figure that if we really simplify than we can organize much better.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish mudding. The corners are taking awhile to dry since it is the basement and quite cool down there. Kind of forgot it would take longer. So I put the portable heater down there to help and it is working. Hopefully this afternoon or evening it will be dry enough for me to finish. The flooring people come on Thurs to begin the prep work, but I don't know if they will finish that day or not. It will be close, but I will be done and ready for them. DH then had to move the delivery of the washer and dryer. Oh well, what is another week? The entire room, will be done almost at once with the exception of haning the ceiling, but that is ok.

Food today:
Breakfast - 1 fried egg, ham, 1 c milk, 1/2 c grapefruit juice
AM snack - banana
Lunch - tuna rollup, carrots
PM snack - yogurt
Supper - lg salad of some type

Goals today:
1. Excercise - according to Jillian
2. Organize office - 1/2 hour
3. Mud laundry - 2-3 hours tops (estimate w/ break, could be less)
4. Bookwork - 1-2 hour
5. Family Project - 2 hours

Of course, the times are all estimates to allow leeway, but my main thing is to try scheduling in a specific amount of time to accomplish things of priority right now. Maybe then I won't think that I only have to work on just one thing until it is done. Also, it allows me to tackle the various things in small increments. We'll see how it works.

Today, I signed up with Jillian's online program. Mainly, I need to work on my exercise and need help knowing which are the best exercises for me to do, as well as having "someone" explain different exercises. I figured that I could stick it out for 13 weeks and if I don't like it then I can cancel. Right now, it is worth paying a few $ to have some guidance in this area and have a daily routine planned for me. Especially on days when I don't have access to equipment.

I am off to begin tackling my goals for the day! Everyone have a wonderful week!
