lesbians need not apply

I'm good with that. We must never be tolerant of intolerance.
LOL - Every time I turn around I see you posting something like this. You are being intolerant of intolerance. How are you going to punish yourself? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Or is it just you that decides what intolerances are to be accepted? :rotfl:

There are many legitimate viewpoints to EVERY issue...

I've taught.

If we were speaking of a hetero couple, your accusations would be moot. Since we are speakin' of lesbians...apparently, you find it acceptable to throw out ridiculous accusations such as the one above.

OK, you've read what I've written, you know by now I am a staunch defender of GBLT rights and NOT at all approving of discrimination. Please bear that in mind. ;)

HOWEVER, I just have to speak up in defense of mkingdomlvr and what she is trying to say. Teenagers, any teenagers; gay, straight, male, female, black, white, or purple, are REALLY good at figuring out the most explosive, attrention-calling way of doing something. Its the nature of the beast. Now I am not saying anything for sure, or making any accusation; we can theorize all we would like, we simply don't know the whole story. However, it is not outside the realm of possibility that these girls had an agenda; be it revenge, getting kicked out of a school they really didn't want to be in anyway, or just flying in the face of the establishment, as it were. I am sure at 17 they were well aware of the consequences of breaking the rules.

I went to a very conservative christian school as a child (see earlier post on my upbringing). We were all aware of the rules, and we all knew that if we really didn't want to be in this school (where most of us had been put by well-meaning parents who gave NO thought to the child's opinion) the best way to get tossed out was to break a rule and break it in a BIG and attention -causing way.

Not saying they did or didn't, howver it isn't outside the realm of possibility.

If I choose to not allow someone into my home because they "seem" homosexual... Do you really think that equals hate?

What would you call it if you denied access to someone based on sexual orientation? :confused3 Pick an adjective: hate, ignorance, bigotry, prejudice?

And IMO it is different in many ways... A mexican boy would not be of a real concern when it comes to locker room(showers) situation. But some might be concerned, if a homosexual was taking a shower with their child.

Why? Is there some big gay agenda? Convert the unconverted? Snatch the heteros?

Again, if this girl is truly homosexual, why be part of that school/religion?
Kinda like baptizing a baby if you dont believe in the original sin, there is no point.

Take out the fact that we do not know why these students enrolled in this particular school...

You DO realize that homosexuality and Christianity/religion are not mutually exclusive?

For the record I am just playing DA hear, and the points I am trying to make are just for debating purposes and are not representative of my own personal views on homosexuality.

Why?

If you dont allow someone in your home because seem gay, yes that is hate.

I define Hate as extreme dislike and hostility, there is a big area from that to deciding who I allow in my home. I have DRINKING friends that I choose not to bring around my wife and kids, but I dont hate them.

Honestly, if someone is not as open as we would like... it does not mean they HATE.

As for the shower situation...for goodness sake, gay people have no sick interest in children! Gay does not equal pedophile.
Pedophile????

You miss the point, schools do not allow kids(teens) of opposite sexes to shower together. Again the some PARENTS might be concerned about homosexual teens sharing locker rooms with their own teens.

I am not saying you will think it is an issue, but some parents might... hence this is not the same as a race issue.

We had kids flaunt the rules in our HS, and they got expelled-and they weren't even gay!!! :faint:

If we weren't having the same discussion, would you be making the same accusation? No. You couldn't. Because we would not be having the discussion about a hetero couple.

I've already told ya'...I'm cool with my hypocrisy.

As for my punishment? I don't know...a spankin'? :confused3 (as long as I get to pick the punisher)

There are many legitimate viewpoints to EVERY issue. I'm only claimin' my own. ;)

Men wrote DOWN the Bible. God is the author.

Actually that is a matter of opinion. I see it different, I won't go into details but its men that call homosexuality a sin, not God. Homosexuality would have threatened the early Christian movement, no pro-creation meant less followers. It was man that decided to make it a "sin" and use it to instill fear of God in early followers. The only reason Christians today still believe that is because its been in the teachings for 1000's of years.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make, thank you for saying it in a clearer way. I've seen it as a student and I've seen it as a teacher.

My apologies. I misread what you were saying as far as the pedophile thing. Sorry.

But why would you not allow a gay person in your home? What do you think they are going to do, corrupt your children? I just don't understand this. Gay is not a disease. It isn't contagious.

If you have a teen daughter and you have no problem with her showering or changing in front of a lesbian her own age, that is your choice. I commend you for being so open, but I also understand that other parents should decide what is best for their own kids. And just because I do not agree does not make me right and them wrong.

Apparently this school chooses to make it a standard on which they base attendance.

Homosexuality was also something the early Romans were really good at. It was a very accepted part of their society, as it was in most early civilizations.
The early church wanted to differentiate itself in all ways from the Roman establishment.

Why not? I've seen it happen. Heterosexual kids act out at a Christian school knowing that their actions will get them expelled, then their parents scream about them getting expelled. Then they go to the newspaper and talk about the evil Christian school who expelled their charming children. We had a kid bring the Satanic Bible into school and try and convert his fellow students to Satanism. His parents were shocked when the principal expelled him, and said that he was being discriminated against because of his chosen religion!!

I like kids, don't get me wrong-but I'm under no illusions about the innocence of their motives, especially not at that age.

As a lesbian, I can tell you in high school I was NOT watching anyone shower and change. In fact, even though no one knew I was a lesbian, I was afraid they would THINK I was looking. Just because I am gay does not mean I am attracted to every woman I see.

You are incorrect.

Leviticus 18

Unlawful Sexual Relations

1 The LORD said to Moses...

Do you believe Moses made everything up?

No apology needed.

I do allow gays in my home, just trying to point out that if I chose not to... that is not equal to hate.

Homosexuality was also something the early Romans were really good at.

Were they really good or just plain good? Alas, I think they could have been great! Is there a standardized point system? I think the Greeks would score higher.

It's not about being "open". It's about reality.

Yes, I actually do, but like I said that is my opinion so therefore its just as wrong as your is (the one you have that God authored the bible). Since no proof is out there either way, opinions are allwe have on this matter and I will not debate it here :flower3:
