Hi All,

We have an ADR for Chefs de France. Now, it's been about 20+ yrs since high school French :rotfl2: Do I have to order in French or should I just resort to pointing?? :lmao:

I tried to pronounce the names in French and our waiter laughed at me and said just point to what you want. It wasnt mean it was super funny

They all speak perfect English, so just tell them the description (which is in English) rather than the dish's name! Thats how we got round it!!!!

Ate there on Tuesday. Our waitress had arrived from France just two weeks ago. Her English was pretty good, but we had to point; It didn't work to say, "the short ribs." We had a great time and the food was excellent.

Ate there in December and DS11 (ten at the time) practiced for weeks before our trip, how to say "hello, my name is Jason" and "how are you?" Our waitress fell in love with him  He got better service than anyone else in the party ;)

My kids take French in school so they did pretty well ordering in French. I, on the other hand, was English only and had no problems, except perhaps choosing between all of the great desserts they have.:rotfl2:

We ate here in July 2008.... Really wonderful meal by the way. We used the pointing method mostly or at least I did.... My teenager wanted to substitute sweet potatoes instead of the augratin potatoes and that went ok. Then she asked the server for cinnamon for her sweet potatoes. The server asked her to say it 3 times so he could go ask the chef if they had any :lmao: She did get some cinnamon for her sweet potatoes.

You don't have to order in French, but you DO have to EAT in French.

Good luck with that . . . ;)

Mmm, it was my favorite meal/place to eat on our last trip. I know enough French to limp along but our server had great English.

Now I want some rolls with awesome butter!! :thumbsup2

Our DD 15, is looking forward to eating here. She has taken French in school a bit and will have lots of fun trying to communicate in little ways, and help us with our order!

Please use French if you can - the waitstaff love it when you do!! My son DS (10) was so proud to speak to our waiter in French and the fellow was so encouraging to him. We also got excellent, excellent service so that may also be a payoff! DS loved it so much he said it was a "must return" on our upcoming trip! Have fun and enjoy! :goodvibes

Yeah...definitely speak French if you can, but it isn't a problem if you can't.

I'll have to dust off my accent soon...if I mess up too badly my family may never forget it :upsidedow

Hi!
We will be eating here in a few weeks...I haven't seen many pictures of the restaurant. Does anyone have any they could post? Thanks!

Don't even worry about it...just enjoy! If you have kids get them a burger and try it...the best ever!

I just love Chefs! We celebrated my DD's 3rd birthday there and it was fantastic. I can't wait to go back!

I love the beautiful atmosphere. Enjoy!:goodvibes
I'll look for pics--but I think all I have is DD blowing out her candles.;)
