My brother has just got a Olympus E-410 and was wondering if any other Olympus Lenses can be used on this model.
I thought I would ask for expertise from the Disers.
Thanx in Advance

Olympus DSLRs use the Four Thirds standard.. here is a cool app on the Four Thirds page that lists all available lenses and lets you see what they look like on your camera.

If he has any questions, ask away.. I have a 510 and have done loads and loads of research on all the (reasonably priced) lenses.

Olympus (and one or two other companies like Panasonic) came up with a brand-new "system" for their DSLRs, called the "Four Thirds" system. This is a sensor that's a little smaller than the usual DSLR sensor, and is in the 4:3 aspect ratio rather than the usual DSLR 3:2.

What this means is that you can only use 4/3rds lenses on them - so your choices are limited to new Olympus lenses and a couple third-party ones (I think Sigma makes a limited number.) Older Olympus film lenses won't work.

There are, I think, several adapters to use other lenses on the camera, but they wouldn't autofocus or meter (you'd have to set the exposure manually.)

Thank you code for such a quick reply ! He is very grateful for the information.:goodvibes
