Assuming Disney's ROFR is refused, when should I look to be able to make my first reservation? What is the current timeline for the process. The contract was submitted on October 26th through my agent.

It's really sped up lately in terms of ROFR. You should hear back within two weeks now, then the major holdup is the estoppel processing and preparing of closing documents by the closing companies- that is still running at about four to five weeks. Assuming no issues with closing, about a week for that, then about two weeks for the transfer to complete and your membership to be created (if you are a new member) or loaded into your account if you are an existing member. So, it's basically ten weeks or so in total, a bit shorter than in the past few months. Good luck :)!

We submitted for ROFR on 9/15 got my member number on 11/6 and was able to use membership

I would count on 2 months from passing ROFr to making a reservation.

It is likely you will be booking in January if ROFr is waived.

If you head over to the purchasing DVC board they have a closing thread where a lot of people post their timeline from initial offer acceptance through when they receive member numbers. It's really helpful. My current resale is taking a lot longer than I anticipated. We are well past the 2 month mark and still haven't gotten closing docs.

Since DVD is increasing their ROFR take backs, I wonder if they have speeded up their ROFR process?

Ha! We can assume it would be to their own benefit, not for the resale buyers' benefits- I think you are likely right :).

Though they tend to increase around this time of year anyway, they really have ramped up their buy backs over the past two months and yes, that would certainly require more staffing.

Maybe not more staffing, just process them as you can and don't sit on them for 28 days to add delays to the resale process.
