We are doing a last minute (somewhat) trip from 8/30 - 9/3 (Free Dining). I called a couple of days ago and was very surprised to actually get any ADR's. I booked four, one for each day. One is Sci Fi for early lunch (11:30), one is Tepan Edo for late supper (8:45), one is LTT for late supper (8:35) and one is ealy breakfast at Crystal Palace (8:10). I was most excited about CP!!! Anyway, we are a family of three with a DD who will be 6 on the trip. I'm not sure how the two late suppers will work out with her. How long does it take to do the meals? Is it an hour, two hours? I should mention that although we've been several times, we have always done CS - no TS, so this is new and different territory for us. I also got to thinking that if Illuminations is at 9:00, will we have a great view of it if dining at Tepan Edo at 8:45? Will it be very loud inside the restaurant? We have also skipped fireworks for the most part in the past as well because DD didn't like the noise, but she's finally CURED! :cool1: So we are going to try to see some this trip too.

Sorry for the rambling - does anyone have any input? THANKS!

Well, I don't think you will make it for Illuminations with an 8:45 dinner. I don't know if you can see from inside the resturaunt or not, I am thinking that you can't.

Also, plan on spending some time in there, as the cooking is somewhat of a show in itself.......

Plan on spending at least an hour in the TS resturaunts, if not longer.

We eat at Japan every trip but early like 6/ 6:30 . It takes between 1hr to 1 11/2. You will have a great time.

It's usually about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs. for a TS, depending upon how many courses you eat. The CP buffet will depend upon how quickly the characters come around, but the eating part goes as short or long as you want. There also may be waits for your seating. Early ADRs usually get seated close to your assigned time. Teppan Edo tends to be a bit slow, so show up early for your ADR and hope you get seated in time for Illuminations. Chances are the diners who had 7:30/45 ADRs are already in the prime Illuminations viewing seats, but you may luck out. If you can swing it, try to take a break during the afternoon so your DD can rest, unless she's used to late nights. Late mealtimes can get a bit challenging for kids at Disney with all the excitement. :thumbsup2

We've finished eating and seeing all the characters at LTT in 45 minutes before. 45 minutes - 1 hour is pretty typical if you aren't at a place like Teppan Edo where the food is a show.
