Length of stay passes vs normal passes?

I have a dilema... We will be at WDW 9 days/8 nights including travel days. We won't go to the parks the day we leave, we have 1 day of cheering competition, and 1 day scheduled for DQ/DTD. This leaves us 6 definate park days. I was thinking of getting 7 day passes in case the cheer competition doesn't last all day, or the kids get bored at DQ (which I doubt).

Now the dilema... I can get 7 day LOS passes which include 1 day at DQ for about $250 cheaper than 7 day park hopped pluses and DQ tickets. BUT if we only use 6 days of the LOS passes we're out of luck, but the PHP passes we can hold onto the other day.

SO...WWYD? I still have time to decide as we aren't going until late Feb. Thanks

Im not sure about your math. A 6 night UPH is $317. A 7 day park hopper plus is $307. Are you getting a discount?

We always buy park hoppers. With the plus days, and a little planning you get way more for your money. That 7 day PHP is actually up to 11 days of activities.

If it were me, I would probably buy 5 day hoppers. You can get into DQ for not all that much more. And if you realize that you do have an extra day you can always juice up your passes while you are there. This could also be good incase not everyone wants to go into a park that extra day. Then those who want more can get more and those who dont, dont have to pay.

I would go with the UPHP. You will be able to do Disney Quest, Pleasure Island, and the water parks as often as you like.

On our trip we had 5 day park hopper passes. My friend and her family had UPHP. They had the freedom to come and go as they pleased without worrying about wasting a park day. I on the other hand had to keep thinking if I was getting the most out of my tickets. (There were a few times I just wanted to go to MK or MGM to watch the parades or fireworks) This drove me nuts.

On our last day DS and I "wasted" a day on our passes to ride Test Track. We were not even in the park for 2 hours but we
had a blast.

In the future I plan to purchase PAP or UPHP, no more park hoppers for us.

The passes aren't UPHPs, they are thru the cheering event we are attending, therefore LOS. The passes are good for 7 days prior to the event starting and 7 days after the event ends. They don't offer 7 day passes, so we are thinking of buying 3 & 4 day passes to equal the 7 days I think we need, I already called and can do this. The 4 day includes 1 "plus" and DQ is one of the options. The cost is $250 for the 3 day & 4 day pass together, including tax.

We don't plan on going to the water parks, just the normal parks and 1 day at DQ. My biggest concern is getting only 6 day passes, and then having to spend the $$$ for a one day/one park pass. I think I would rather have extra days available (even if I don't use them), then not enough!
