Length of Stay or Park Hopper Plus?

We are planning our first DVC trip to the Boardwalk Villas for Summer of 2002 and are wondering which tickets DVC members find to be the best buy. We have always bought packages before that included the Length of Stay passes. Although they are more expensive, are the Park Hopper Plus passes a better buy, for you can use any unused passes on future trips?

The answer depends on what your habits will include during your stay. If you will NOT be going into parks each day, won't use water parks/PI/DQ then the hopper may be more economical for you.

If you will go to Disney parks each day- then figure the relative costs (don't forget the 10% DVC discount on UMP) and make your decision on the financial difference.

Have a great trip!

We usually buy an annual pass and then plan a second trip within the following twelve months. This gives us fourteen-fifteen days for the price of one annual pass. There are even some years when we try to fit a third trip in.

i have never liked the length of stay passes because unless you spend the night before and the night after, you technically loose two days because of travelling. i also feel alot of pressure that i have to be in a park because we have the pass. my vote is for the hopper or an annual pass. i think we are going to do the same.
good luck!

You should do some cost comparisons by looking at the ticket price page on this site. For a DVC member, the length of stay pass can often be the one of choice if you are going to the parks 7 or less days per year because (a) you get a 10% discount, and (b) when you buy the pass at the resort, the resort will allow you to leave off arrival or departure day upon request. The net effect is that the length of stay pass ends up being cheaper than the hopper plusses for the same number of park entries, and that is true even if you can get the Disney Club (formerly MKC) discount on the hoppers.

It depends on how many days throughout the year you vacation at WDW. We usually go 2 weeks in January and 2 weeks in June, so we get Annual Passes. It's nice to be able to pop into one of the parks for dinner after relaxing at the resort or seeing something off-site (Like NASA or Cypress Gardens)and not feel like you've wasted a park hopper day.

We did some research and found that the annual pass is the best buy for the amount of time we will be there. Thanks everyone for the great advice! :D
