We are staying at the RPR from Nov. 2nd to Nov. 9th (7 nights). We are in a Queen Club room.

I originally booked (a year ago!) at rack rate ($2,483).

When AAA rates came out, I called and switched to that rate which was a nice savings (down to $2,111).

So, I'm continuing to call and check rates regularly, waiting and waiting for a Supersaver Rate.....and lo and behold, Universal reservations mentions "Length of Stay" discount for 7 nights or more.

My original reservation was only for 6 nights and last month I added another night, so we qualify for this discount. Nice reservation girl asked if I'd be interested in a rate reduction. Nah, of course not! I'd much rather pay a higher rate.... Hah! So, I had her adjust our rate to ....... $1,490!!

A $621 savings! Wooooo Hoooooo!!

Is it too early to pack?

Soooo, greedy girl that I am, my question is... what are the chances that an even BETTER rate will come along?

I'm continuing to check (now it's simply a compulsion). And I'm looking at the AP rate also. I'll flip one of my park tickets (that I bought 14 months ago, 7 days/both parks for $82!!!!) to an AP if the rate warrants it.

:goodvibes

:rotfl: Don't you just love it. I love to see my rate drop down and down and down. I joke with my DH and tell him my ultimate goal is to get the room for free :lmao:

Sounds like you've got a good rate but I'd keep checking to see if by chance the rate does drop down. Nice job:thumbsup2

Sounds like you did a great job...I'm the same way. Book early and then keep changing the rate as they go lower. The only bad thing is that every time they have to redo the deposit and that can be a bit annoying but oh well.

We are going in June and our first rate was around $200 and then it went to $172 with the SS (only staying 4 nights) and so I ended up getting the AP and now we have our reservationfor $149 with an upgrade to a waterview room. :worship:

Of course I will be still checking up until the day we leave for a better rate :woohoo:

Hi mjohnson! Thanks! You got a great rate too! Quick question - is your deposit on your credit card? When I change rates, they don't adjust the deposit. My deposit was one night at rack rate which they'll apply against my eventual total. Just curious - why is yours changing? Thanks, E

I could be wrong but if your rate dropped that low and your saving $621 I don't think it will go any lower cause last year we paid over $1000.00 for 3 nights at RPR and this year with super saver we paid $1135.20 for 7 nights for june and checked yesterday and the rates went up to $50 more a night :scared1: but hey saving that much is still a great deal for being able to stay onsite :thumbsup2

I don't know why they had to recharge our credit card each time and refund the old one. The only annoying thing is that since it was so old the original card has been canceled so I had to go through the process of requesting the refund be sent to be via check from the credit card company once it cleared. I don't know if I just got certain people who did not know how to apply funds or what :confused3

That is the only thing I like about Disney better is that we usually like to pay in advance to have the whole thing covered before we actually get there. They make it such a hassle in a way that I just ended up putting the cash in another account to cover it this time :yay:

But hey other than that we are extremely excited about going.

Great deal:thumbsup2

But I just can't understand why you aren't excited about saving $1,000:rotfl:

That would mean you could take me :goodvibes

you can make payments in advance for the UO hotels.
you can set up a monthly payment plan of your choosing.

you go through another department for that.

when i booked this year, i had the TM that set up my ressie email me the document i needed to send in for a payment plan.

most people wait and pay the one night deposit when they book and then pay the rest of the bill at check out time.

i like paying mine off in advance before i go.

if rates drop and you have your ressie modified, they will debit your account if you used a cc for the payments.

Oh well..not complaining I just must have got the 2 people who did not know this. :guilty: Not a problem...I asked about setting up another payment and they gave me a phone number for the accounting department and I left a message. They called back so they could get a fax to send the paperwork to so I could fill out all the forms and then fax back for charges.

Like you said it is just easier to but it aside in another account and pay when we get there

So far the people on the phones have been great! :thumbsup2

No they are for standard room but did call and they offered me club for $60 more a night but club really doesn't interest me but I love RPR so its just great to be able to stay onsite for our entire trip :thumbsup2
