How long does Spectromagic usually last & what is a good viewing place if you're planning on leaving right at the end of Spectromagic? Thanks!

SpectroMagic is about 1/2 hour. The best place we have found if you are planning on leaving right after the parade is at the beginning of Main Street on the circle by the flag pole near the Emporium. Depending on what time of year you go (we go the last week of Feb/first week of Mar) if you show up 1/2 hour before the parade you should be able to stake out a decent spot. The parade comes directly by there and it is a really good place to view it and then you can scoot right out the entrance before all the other people have a chance to make it up Main Street to do the same. Hope this helps. Maybe someone else will have some ideas also but this is our favorite spot so far.

SpectroMagic is 17 minutes from beginning to end.
If you count the opening announcement by Jiminy Cricket through his "goodbye" at the end.

It comes into Main Street between the Fire Station and the Barbershop, circles counter-clockwise around the flagpole "island" and then goes on up Main Street toward the castle/hub.

If Spectro starts at 8pm, and you can find a viewing spot near the train station (as was suggested) you can be out the front gates and gone by about 8:20pm.

BTW, if you exit EXACTLY when you FIRST catch a glimpse of MINNIE MOUSE (she's the last "big star" in the parade) you'll beat a few hundred people to the exit.
Alternately, if you WAIT until her float has PASSED BY, you'll probably be in the THICK of folks exiting.
(I know the timing of Spectro very well.)

LASTLY, I would not wait until just a "half-hour before" to try to find a good spot up near the train station.
It fills pretty fast at the front end of the park because SO MANY folks have the exact same idea as you described.
;)

17 miutes? Darn!

Last May I used my digital camera to film Spectro Magic. I got just a tad over 15 minutes of it before my memory stick filled up.

Thanks Robo - We haven't seen Spectro since 1997 - and we saw it as we were leaving because my then 3 year old was spent by 8pm. So I really would like to get another chance. So then, I'll plan on being there at 7 and starting to move out when Minnie appears, about 15 minutes in maybe? Looks like maybe we'll make it back to the room before 9. :thumbsup2

Depending on WHERE your room is... sounds like a good plan.
