Length of DL's Celebrate Street Party Parade?

The parade begins at 7:00pm the day we want to see it (a Monday - park closes at 9:00pm). We will probably sit close to the "Mickey/Walt statue" area. I assume the parade begins in the back of the park (comes from Matterhorn area and heads up Main Street??). How long does the parade run and how long does it take to get to the area I am sitting in. If we have a 7:45pm PS at cafe Orleans that night, should we be OK or should I try to make it 8:00pm? We will ask for outside seating and last year had to wait an additional 30 minutes for that. If you are a bit late for PS do they still honor your '"reservation" or if you aren't there on time you are off the books?

I can give you a partial answer based on seeing it once.

If you're watching from a street party zone, the entire thing will take approximately 20 minutes from start to finish. If you're not in a street party zone, then it will essentially roll on by in 3-5 minutes.

I watched it from the street party zone near Small World and it took 20 minutes. Assuming the parade starts at 7:00pm from Small World, I think a 7:45 dining reservation is cutting it extremely close assuming it doesn't cause you to be late even if you're in the hub and reasonably close to Cafe Orleans. Frankly, an 8:00pm reservation might be cutting it close depending on how long it takes to gather your party and make it through whatever crowds there may be.

Your best bet would actually be to watch it from where it starts that day (check with a CM) and then head to Cafe Orleans after it finishes. If it starts at 7:00pm, the finish will be at 7:20ish and then you'll have 25 minutes to walk to Cafe Orleans, which is plenty of time. Any other place along the route may give you very little, if any, time to make your reservation.

The Street Party will start at the top of Main Street at 7pm. It will be at the Walt & Mickey Statue at 7:15pm and Small World at 7:30pm.

If you watch it at the hub, it will be over shortly before 7:30pm. If you are sitting on the West side of Main Street, you can just turn and walk toward the restaurant. You should make it in time, but...

Why not watch the Street Party from the top of Main Street? Then you can turn and walk just slightly before 7:15pm. You gain 15 minutes. :)

Way, way tooooo long!!! :headache: It is such a nightmare to navigate around and really, not up to DL's usual standards.

dont want to intrude int his thread, just wondering if anyone has a map of the parade route?

^ Celebrate is different. It doesn't pass the Fire Department or Town Square. ;)

Here's a link to a DL map. The "parade" route is shown by the dotted-line (as noted above, the Celebrate non-parade does not go through Town Square):

The 12-minute “show stops” occur at three locations: in front of IASW, around the Central Plaza hub, and along Main Street. You won’t see the show if you wait around Town Square in front of the train station or along Matterhorn Way.

The 3:30pm "parade" usually travels from IASW, to the hub, and to Main Street.

The 6:30pm "parade" usually travels from Main Street, to the hub, and to IASW.

If there's only one "parade" at 7:00pm, I think it would travel from IASW, to the hub, and to Main Street.

Edited to add: The above item, in red, is likely to be incorrect. In the off-season, if there's only one Celebrate...A Street Party showing at 7:00pm, then it is likely to travel from Main Street, to the hub, and to IASW. Disney Dreams observed this last spring.

Hope this helps. :earsboy:

Disneyland parades (and parade like events such as Celebrate) always follow the same route. The first one will start up by Small World and go down through Fantasyland between the monorail and the castle passing by the entrace to Tomorrowland. At Town Square, the parade will turn to pass by the Fire Department and go around Town Square before going backstage. If the parade starts from Main Street, it will begin between the hat store and Disney Clothiers and follow the same route.

Please note that the Disneyland parade route and the MK parade route are completely different and wind through different lands of each park.

Thank you, would it start at Small world or Main St if there was only one parade that day?

I am sure that is some reason not to quote yourself on a message board, so I won't. LOL As I posted above, if there is only a 7pm Street Party it starts at the top of Main Street at 7pm. It will be at the Walt & Mickey Statue at 7:15pm and Small World at 7:30pm.

That's interesting, because when I visited DL in the off-season and watched the 7:00pm parade (on a Monday and Tuesday night in late-Oct. '07), the Parade of Dreams started near IASW and traveled toward Town Square. I'm completely sure because I videotaped the parades.

Like Sleepless Knight mentioned above, it wouldn't hurt to ask a CM where it starts that day.

:goodvibes

Edited to add: See post #7 for updated information about the 7:00pm showing of Celebrate...A Street Party during the off-season.

That was 2 years ago and POD. This is Celebrate! A Street Party which is completely different. This is technically not a parade. It's a Street Party.

We have watched it several times on one show nights (prior to summer) with the Street Party at 7:00pm/7:15pm/7:30pm and it ran exactly as I have posted twice above (otherwise I would not have posted anything).

Of course when you arrive, check the show guide (or ask a CM) to know for sure what THAT day's plan is. :)

I stand corrected. Thanks. :goodvibes
