I had asked about public transportation options to/from Legoland so figured I would give an update in case anyone else was in the same boat.

After a late night at the MK the night before our Legoland day, we slept in a little later than originally planned and took an uber there. It was $47 plus tip. The first uber driver that showed up said he couldn't do it as an uberx and asked me to cancel and rebook as an uberxl, I told him to cancel it since it was going to charge me a fee and I just got a second driver instead. Ride to Legoland was just about an hour I believe.

I had booked the shuttle bus beforehand, originally thinking we'd take that to/from Legoland. Even though we had taken an uber there, we were able to find the shuttle bus in the parking lot and take it home. The driver had our names on the reservation list and let us on no problem. That was $5/pp round trip which I thought was still a good deal even though we only took it home. The shuttle was a nice charter bus which showed a kids movie. We got stuck in traffic and the ride home was longer than expected, about 1 hour 40 minutes. From the drop off location we took uber to the POP resort which was $18 plus tip.

All in all, a worthwhile day, the kid was very excited to finally get there. I wouldn't necessarily rush back there on our next Disney trip, but certainly was fun to see this time.

Thanks for this. We are staying at a Disney resort for Spring Break this year but not doing any Disney parks... doing things like Legoland, Sea World, etc instead.

I haven’t fully looked into the Legoland bus you mention - any chance you can provide some more info? Times / pick-up location / etc?

Thanks!

Sure, this is from the Legoland site -

  • Pick-up location: I-Drive 360, 8401 International Drive, Orlando, Florida 32819. Please park on the bottom floor of the I-Drive 360 parking deck located between International Drive and Universal Boulevard. Parking in the garage is FREE. The shuttle pick up is outside the parking deck near the back entrance of the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye on the Universal Boulevard side of the property.
  • Price: $5 per person (plus tax)
  • Pick up time: 9:00 a.m.; please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure
  • Leaves to return at park closing. Check operating schedule for the latest times.
It's only the one shuttle each way and they recommend to pre-register (which I did). Our bus home was half empty but I guess they could book up in busier times.

There's also a water park area in Legoland but it doesn't open till sometime in March so we missed out on that.

Also the bus leaves 30 minutes after park closing, the bus waited the full 30 minutes then promptly took off. That gave us enough time to get on a ride right before closing, stop at the restroom, and walk out to the parking lot to the bus and still had about 10 minutes to spare.
