We are planning an impromptu trip from 6/8-6/13. We're driving from Utah, and will arrive around 2:00 pm on the 8. We have a 10 year old boy, a 6 year old girl, and a 2 year old girl. We've been told many times that Legoland is a half day park. Honestly, we aren't really that interested in Legoland to begin with, but my 10 year old is DYING to go. We usually spend our first day in town at Disney as a half day welcome to Cali, but I'm thinking I'd rather devote a half day to Legoland, and a full day at Disney. We're doing City Passes, so we'll have 3 days to Disney, a day at Legoland and a day at SeaWorld. The question is, should we plan on Legoland or Sea World for our first, half day.

Right now, I'm thinking the following:
6/8: Legoland (Half Day)
6/9: Disney
6/10: Sea World
6/11: Disney
6/12: Disney
6/13: Drive Home

But, now I'm looking at park hours and it looks like Legoland is only open 10-6, so I'm questioning whether our kids will be disappointed.

So, tell me about Legoland, is it really a half day park for kids the same age as mine? Or are we undershooting. What about Sea World? My kids don't like roller coasters at all, and I won't be able to ride them this trip, so we don't have to worry about any of the lines for coasters if that helps.

If you don't get there until 2 and LL closes at 6 you won't really have time to enjoy the park. When my son was LL ages we would spend a full day in the park.
I would spend the first day or 2 at DL. Then drive to SeaWorld, stay in that area for the night and do LL the next day and move back to Anaheim for the night to go to DL the last day. This way I would only have to drive once. It's a long drive back to Anaheim if you go to SeaWorld and then another longish drive ( approx 45 to 60 minutes) to go back down the same highway to go to LL.
Or another option would be to stay in San Diego the first night, depending on how late SW is open then hit LL for the day on the way to Anaheim.

Really for me both SW and LL are full day parks especially with 3 kids.
Tough to choose where to spend your ,partial day.

The rides at LL are really tame even the 2 yr old will be able to go on most of them.

We went to Sea World and LEGOLAND last year. I think around the same time. We found SeaWorld pretty empty. Found ourselves bored by late afternoon. My daughter, 10, loved LEGOLAND. The rides are geared more for much younger kids but I knew once we hit the water park area, the rides were over. She could spend all day there. If I had to do it over, I'd spend less time at SeaWorld. We did spend the entire day at LEGOLAND, most of it at the water park.

We have a 4 y/o son and a 2 y/o daughter. We took 10 day San Diego Vacation last December. 4 nights at Legoland Hotel and 5 nights in San Diego. We spent 4 days at Legoland (the Water Park was closed because it was December), then went to San Diego. Spent a couple days doing the zoo and other usual SD stuff, but the kiddos asked if they could go back to Legoland. We bought annual passes anyway, so sure why not. The last 2 days were spent at Legoland, so we spent 6 days there altogether, though they still nap in the afternoon so we only spent maybe 3-4 hours there per day. Even now he still asks when we can go back to Legoland.

It is definitely possible to spend a lot of time at Legoland if your kids are interested. I don't think my son is typical, though, because he LOVES Legos and he also doesn't get tired of things easily (he likes to do the same things over and over again). He also doesn't like rides as much (not just at Legoland, but just in general), but he spends a lot of time looking at Miniland, playing in the playgrounds. There's an area where you build boats and send them down a small stream of water and an area where you build cars and race them, which he also likes. I think your younger kids will like it. The 10 y/o is kind of bordering on too old, but it seems like she is the one most interested in going, so it seems like spending a whole day there seems reasonable.

If you've ever seen the Lego Movie, one of the sets from the movie is also there, which I thought was cool.
