legoland hotel recommendations

Thinking about taking a trip to Cali during the summer. Where would you recommend to stay. Thinking of staying 1 or 2 nights then heading to DL.

Sheraton Carlsbad Resort - it sits right above Legoland. We stayed there a couple of years ago - very nice hotel. And, best of all, you can walk down the hill to your own private entrance to Legoland. And, it's maybe an hour to DL from there.

We really enjoyed West Inn & Suites, in Carlsbad. They have a free shuttle to Legoland, so you don't have to worry about driving or paying for parking. And they have an excellent free hot breakfast and cookies and milk in the evening. Really pretty hotel, and they are highly rated on tripadvisor as well.

We stayed at the Residence Inn at Carlsbad. It's about 5 minutes from the park. It's in the business district, but it's quiet and the facilities are clean and modern. I loved the free hot breakfast and suites.
