From the looks of it, a day trip to Legoland FL looks to be much lower key than a busy day at the World - true?

1. Is there a long line at turnstiles before opening, or can we arrive shortly before the stated opening time and be fine?

2. Are there any headlining attractions that we should rush to first?

3. Are any days of the week better than others - I assume no and will use the Easywdw recommendations for our Disney days and will let the Legoland day fall out wherever. We'll be at POR the week of 8/11/13.

4. Any other tips? Thanks!

we are doind a day at legoland the day we arrive. I have found a few sites where you can get kids tickets free with the purchace of an adult ticket.

We went last March at spring break time. We drove from Disney for the day and were back by 6pm. It was a very busy time. The line to buy tickets was not long at park opening. It seemed to get really busy after lunch. Most everything had really long lines in the afternoon. It was an hour wait to ride most stuff. Check the height and age restrictions before you go, there were some rides that you couldn't ride if you were over a certain age or under a certain height.

We walked around the "lego city exhibits" right before we left. It was really hot there and we went in March, there is not much shade and not alot of places where you can escape the heat like Disney.

There are coupons for buy an adult get a child free on the back of some smaller lego packs. These are the ones that you find at the checkouts at Target. Check the exp. dates on them, some expire 3/31/13, while others are 12/31/13.

Not really...get there 15 minutes or so before opening. Parking and walking up won't take long.

2. Are there any headlining attractions that we should rush to first?

Head to whatever is most important to you. Either the Kingdom area (lines for 2 roller coasters around there, especially the wooden one, can get long in the PM. Same with the Ford Driving School and boating school. DS saw the Lego dragon coaster and wanted to ride it, so we started there.

3. Are any days of the week better than others - I assume no and will use the Easywdw recommendations for our Disney days and will let the Legoland day fall out wherever. We'll be at POR the week of 8/11/13.

I would avoid Saturdays. Check with FL kids are headed back to school...might be better to go later in your stay, if the locals are already in school

WDW ride logic applies to LLF...the magical ride hours are immediately after rope drop, so try not to waste those with eating, less popular attractions, etc. The 'eye in the sky' ride seemed to take a long time, and was really hot and not that exciting for me/DS5. The pirate/water skiing show is great. You can pick up lunch nearby and bring the food into the theater, trays and all. Eat while you wait/watch the show. The water park wasn't open when we were there. We wouldn't have had time to do both in one day. There aren't any great hotel options nearyby.

We spent a day at Legoland right before Christmas, and it was PACKED! Of course I'm sure it's not as bad at other times of the year, but within about an hour of opening just about every ride had at least a 40 min wait. Not having any sort of FP system makes it hard.

Definitely get there early and make use of that early-morning time to hit the "big" rides. Save wandering around the Lego-City area for the afternoon. We were let in the gate about 15 min before the official opening, and it looked as though people had been going in for a bit before that as well, so definitely get there early.

Overall, we thought it was a great park with a lot of cool stuff, just wish we had gotten to do more. Between the crowds and short hours, we only managed to get in about 6 attractions the whole day.

We were at Legoland on a Monday in October, so I'm sure that is a slower time of year then when you will be there - but here is our experience.

The drive was easier then we thought so were there 30 minutes before opening and were second in line at the turnstiles. There was a very short opening show on the other side that we could see through the turnstiles.

We headed straight to the back of the park to do the driving school, boating school and flying school. These are all fun, but like most things at Legoland are very slow loading so we did them first. We then made our way over to the other coasters and the waits were still pretty short - although it always amazed us how inefficient the workers were at loading ride vehicles. We waited until after lunch to do the water ski show, walk around mini-land take pictures with statues and characters etc. We also did some of the smaller attractions after lunch - like the kid powered ones. THe kids wanted to ride a few more of the big coasters again and the waits were pretty long after lunch. Again, its not that you will feel crowded with the number of people, so much as the lines move slowly.

We did almost every single ride in the park, except the aquazone wave racers, and left by around 3:00.

We too started all the way in the back at the "schools" and worked our way front. With our age of kids, we did skip a few things. We went first week of December and it was flat out DEAD, very few people. So that was a plus. Mini land has no shade so we didn't stick there too long. We were there at opening and left at 3. The favorite was the pirate show

Probably an odd question, but anyone used the kennel there? We are bringing our little dog on vacation, and while she'll be fine crated in the villa for 4-5 hrs when we go to Orlando attractions, Legoland will be a full day away so we thought we'd bring her.

We went in Sept and it was pretty much dead. Heck we even rode several of the roller coasters in a row without getting off. I must say the staff was wonderful with our kids when there although a bit slow with loading.

I am hoping May is not to bad on a weekday.

We also picked a day that did not have the water park open (hoping that a lot of people would prefer to go on a day it was open) and went during a weekday.

Don't forget to have some of Granny's Fries they are fantastic.

Great information. We are planning to go to Legoland this trip, but cannot decide if we should also do the waterpark. Has anyone done the park and waterpark in the same day? If so, was it enough time?

We didn't eat dinner at Legoland as it was only open until 6 and we had rode all the rides several times and were done by about 5:30. We ate lunch at the panini place and the panini's were very tasty and the portions were large.
We really enjoyed our day at Legoland as it was much more low key than some of the other parks.
