Lego Surprise Minifigure rant

I never order from them because of the shipping, but I am getting closer and closer to doing it and prob will if they put out another series of mini figures.

I just bought a bunch of these for DS yesterdy at TRU for $4.99 each. I had no idea they were ever cheaper there, or available cheaper some where else!

Thanks for the tip - I didn't even know about these. I purchased mine at the Lego store today and the salesperson looked through the bar code for me so that the 5 I bought are all different. I really wanted the witch and vampire so I'll keep my fingers crossed that I picked "good".

I would send a letter to Lego as well. Sometimes toy companies have contracts stating what stores can sell items for.

My DS son loves these. He brought one at Walmart last week for $1.98. I know Target had them for $1.99 last month. I think i will have to go grab a few for Xmas, before the prices go up!

Toys R Us has also raised the price over the past few weeks on Monster High dolls, squinkies and Lalaloopsy dolls. Once something starts selling well, they jack the price up.

Thank you so much LuvMy3! I ended up not getting any of the ones that I really wanted. I am going to print off the checklist and go back to the Lego store tomorrow to look for the witch & vampire. The mime & mexican hombre also look interesting too.

I have a toy shop near mebrought 2 boxes of figures 60 in each for $160 a box $2.66 each figure series 2 now will have to do ebay to get series 1.

I always seem to miss the release date at our local Lego store, but recently found them at our local Borders Book Store but for......$3.99. Luckily, they were hidden and we got a great selection.

We jsut came back from Disney, but the day before we left I found them at Borders, I was so excited and picked them up and paid $3.99. I then went to Target and found them for $2.99, so I picked up more there (the plan in to return the ones back to Borders!). I had already gotten some from TRU from this series for 2.99.

Down in DTD at the LEgo store they had bunches of them, so I pciked them up, for $1.99 (the 'real' price!). They also had both Advent calendars!


I went to TRY today and they had them for $4.99!!!!!!!!!! No way in heck would I pay that much for 1 lego guy. For 4.99 you can buy the farmer AND the pig!

I fear that the next series will be jsut as CRAZY! I will pay the shipping and order them from SR (for a % back) and use my lego.com VIP card to get some points on Lego's website. It will work out cheaper!

I also find the price difference amazing. . . I've seen them for $3.99 at Borders and thought that was crazy . . . didn't know there were as high as $5 anywhere except ebay! I have found you always need to price-check TRU. Sometimes their full price compares to lego.com and other times it's several dollars more.

I ordered 8 mystery minifigs from lego.com along with some other Christmas gifts when they had a free shipping code. I received 3 duplicates out of the 8. Fortunately we live near a Lego store, so we were able to exchange the duplicates and find all of them we wanted (using the bar code cheat sheet) there for $1.99 each.

Thanks for posting the info about Series 3 - Lego obviously understands the gold mine that this is!

I just ordered DS the halloween set , bat, ghost and pumpkin as a little halloween treat and the lego calender for xmas. I paid shipping, but my nearest Target and Toysrus are quite a drive just to check if they have what I want, so I figure shipping was less than the gas I would use in my big Expedition. . I most likely will order the next set for him online , and hope I don't get to many repeats.

If you find them in stores and have some patients, each of the 16 minifigures has a unique barcode on the back so you can tell which one you are getting.

Tis the Christmas season for Toys R Us to jack up the prices on everything. They did the same thing last year, especially with the legos. One day I went in for a Lego Star Wars set, know just 2 days earlier when I was looking at it, it was $12.99, when I went back to get it they had raised the price to $16.99!!! After Christmas was over they lowered the price right back down. What a bunch of crooks in my opinion. This is also one reason why their sale prices are never that good because they raise the price before the sale to make it look like they are giving a bigger percentage off.

My kiddos found them on the top shelf of the Lego aisle at Walmart. They had quite a bunch there, too.
