Lego land reviews

I'm planning our first WDW vacation in January/February 2018. My 6yo DS LOVES Legos and I was thinking of fitting in LEGOLAND also. We will be traveling for 7-10days. Is this too much? Should we do LEGOLAND at another time? Can it be done well in just one day?

You can definitely do it in one day! It's not a huge park but the rides tend to be slow loading. The ride queues have Lego areas for the kids to play in but aren't as visually interesting as at Disney so the waits feel longer. And it's not open as long as the Disney parks. We were there over the summer during the week and I think the hours were 9am-7pm. Plan to get there right when it opens and then head right to the back of the park. Do the driving, boating and flying schools first. They are the slowest loading and can take forever if there is a line. Then keep doing rides until lunch or whenever it starts to get crowded. In the early afternoon, visit Miniland (so cool!), do the shows and movies, and go to the build areas and playgrounds. Don't even let the kids see Miniland until you've gone on the rides you want to go on! They'll want to stop for sure and you can be there for hours and not even realize it! Ride lines tend to slow at the end of the day too. If you plan on being there for the entire day, you can see everything you want in just one day. Have a great trip!

I am going in a few weeks based on the recommendation of the other families we are traveling with. (Who went in 2014).

The boys (all but one under 10) are more excited for LEGOLAND than Disney based on what they remember from it 2 1/2 years ago. The parents said it was the perfect park for kids 10 and under. It definitely doesn't have the "Disney" feel, but it makes up for it with kid-friendly rides with relatively short lines.

My son is now 4 1/2 and just getting into Legos and so he is excited just as much for this.

At some of the ticket deals I've seen, it seems like a great deal too and well worth it even if you don't get to "ride" much or don't spend much time there.

We are planning to do legoland for the first time in September! I'm wondering if day of the week matters much for crowds. We will go on Sunday or Monday as they are closed Tuesday and Wednesday when we go. Anyone have thoughts on crowds and how different a Sunday might be from a monday?

We went in Oct 2015 and our kids were at the top end of the range (at the time DD was 12 and DS was 10) and we all had a great time. The rides are fun but not as intense as regular rides as they go at a slower pace so if it gives the littles the impression that they are on "big" rides. My kids road the roller coaster over and over in Adventure section as it was quiet towards the end of the day. There were lines ups for most rides between 1 and 3 pm when we were there but after that it started to thin out. DH and I enjoyed ourselves walking about and seeing all the lego structures and mini lands. The park had a laid back feel and we really enjoyed that. Because there weren't masses and masses of people we left let kids wander ahead without concern. We didn't see any of the shows unfortunately but it was a great day! We have recommended it to everyone we know with younger kids! :)

If you have the chance to stay at the LEGOLAND hotel it is really worth it! It is expensive but we had almost as much of a good time at the hotel as we did in the park! The service was excellent, the theming was amazing all the way through the hotel - not just lobbies and rooms. The free breakfast was great and not over crowded. Even the placemats were cool we thought! The master builder class was well done and you will never experience a better elevator ride than the one at the LEGOLAND hotel - it's quite memorable!

Anyone have experience using the official Legoland $5 round trip shuttle from I Drive?

We're thinking of taking an Uber from our Disney resort over to the shuttle.

There's a picture of the shuttle on Legoland's website, it's a motor coach bus, very similar to Magical Express/Disney Cruise Line.
We have ridden the shuttle from I Drive twice. It was great. You park your car for free in the parking deck and board the bus. Then you enjoy Legoland and catch the bus at park closing. It was super easy. For our family of 4, it was cheaper to do that than drive when you add gas and parking together, and we didn't have to fight any traffic. I highly recommend it.
