Any deals?

I need 2, 1 boy, 1 girl.

Previous years calendars are OK since we just started doing these last year.

TIA!

I bought new ones (City and Friends) at Target last week and used my 5% red card discount.

I don't know any deals, but be sure to buy soon. OUr Lego Store was completely out of them two days ago; as was Target. I bought online at the lego store. I have a rewards card with them so when you spend $100 you get a $5 credit.

The people at the store told me to buy asap b/c they expect them to be sold out on line Black Friday.

The first year the girl calendar was available we saw them in the Orlando Lego store for $30. We didn't buy b/c we didn't want to carry it home. THEN, they were completely unavailable except through Ebay - some German people had a bunch and we paid $60 or maybe more for it. Lesson Learned - buy early!!!

The Lego Friends was sold out at Target.com a couple of weeks ago but I was able to find one in the store. I agree...get them while they are hot or you won't be getting a deal for sure.

I bought the Lego friends for my daughter about 3 weeks ago. There were only 3 on the shelf. They had a few more for the boys. I haven't seen them get more in. If you find one, get it then and there. Haven't seen them any where else.

We got ours several weeks ago at the Lego store, but DH went back to buy a Star Wars one last weekend and got the last one. They do sell out quickly!

I don't know that most places do any type of deals on them because they almost always sell out before December 1. I always feel like we are lucky if we find them at the store.

I don't think you will have much luck finding previous years calendars unless you are paying a premium for them on EBAY. They seem to sell out every year. The older year ones I have seen on EBAY usually go for a higher price than the store price of the current ones.

Thanks everyone.

Last year I got a good deal at Barnes and Noble, buy 1 get 1 1/2 off. I don't even see them online at B & N at regular price so I guess that deal is probably not going to happen again.

I'll probably buy them at Target online and get my 5% discount with the red card. Seems to be the best deal I could find right now.

Can someone tell me exactly what you get with the calendar? Are there mini-figures? How many? We have never done this and might give it a shot if we can find one.

There are a few mini figs, but mostly mini builds. IMHO, I would never pay that price for a set of Legos if it contained just the pieces it comes with, but the experience of the surprise each day is really what you're paying for. We have 2 sets, and being the frugal mom, we re-use them alternate years. We were just v careful opening the doors initially. At the end of the year, I refill the sections.

I just ordered them through ToysRus today - store pick up wasn't even an option - it showed no stock at any store remotely within 30 miles.
