Legitimate Work from Home Companies?

Doesn't it concern anyone that logging on to CloudCrowd thru Facebook allows it access to your profile information, your photos, your friends' info and "other content that it requires to work"? You pretty much give them access to all of this when you click on "allow".

Maybe y'all set up separate Facebook accounts for this stuff and you have no sensiitive information in your bogus account. I don't have one. I know that my friends would not be happy if they knew I'd "shared" their info with a stranger.

I hope that my misgivings about this company are unfounded. But those of you who choose to sign up should be aware that you're giving a lot of information up when you join this company. Keep your eyes wide open and don't be blinded by the idea of easy money.

This is why I haven't signed up yet. There are plenty of posters here saying they have payments pending, but has anyone actually fully received their money yet? If so, then I was planning on making a new FB account without my friends and family attached to it and see how it works. (I'll also be using my old computer to prevent any potential viruses from infecting my current desktop or laptop)

This is basically the same thing as Mechanical Turk (www.mturk.com) that is run by Amazon. The difference is that Cloud Crowd pays in paypal and Mturk pays in Amazon "money". I would rather the cash personally.

Appreciate the info! I looked at one to edit and the English was so bad I couldn't even understand what they were trying to say.......... have you come across that?

EVERY facebook application says this.......

Which begs the question, "Why would you agree to any Facebook Ap?" You're leaving yourself wide open. I would never give any unknown entity permission to access my profile or my list of friends.

I set up an entirely new facebook account to try this out. It is connected to my junk e-mail account and has no friends/etc associated with it. I never allow apps on facebook to access my real information, I'm to worried about things like that.

I also signed up for a different paypal account that is not linked to anything (bank account/credit card/etc) I figured if I make enough money they can send me a check or I can get it put on the debit card thing.

Yep been there! I guessed. I havent been paid yet but some of my money is now pending. Theres no work for editing right now

They just posted this on their facebook discussion board:

So all of us that found it last night should probably receive payment tomorrow.

I read they went from 100 to 600 members rather quickly. I don't think they anticipated such a fast growth and need to make major modifications to weed out the idiot scammers.

I got one like that too! I did edit one and it says pending. I hope it goes through. What exactly do you do for the other ones?

I just got paid by Cloud Crowd again! This time for all the stuff I did about ten hours ago.

I wanted to add this is the message they sent with my payment:

Thank you for your work. We will be changing our payment policy to the following: work approved by 5pm PST will be paid by midnight of the next business day. We're giving ourselves a little more buffer in case of delays. We like paying same day, but next business day is probably what we're going to be limited to as we move forward. Tasks will be light this week, as we are focusing on implementing learnings from last week. We apologize if there's not as much work as you'd like. There will be plenty of work in the future!

So....it looks like it may be a little slow this week, but then they will have a bunch of projects again.

Whoo hoo, I just received payment as well!

I'm really hoping they get the bugs worked out.

I also read some of the problem was members submitting things too fast, like 7 in 15 seconds or something like that. Now, true, there could be the user that really just reads fast, but a good chunk of that you know they are just submitting withouth really reviewing (this was for the one's where you submit links or grades, not the edit paragraphs ones.).

But I tend to work quickly, because I've been editing websites for 12 years, I'm just used to it. So I'm going to make sure I take some breaks inbetween. I'd hate to get flagged for just being an efficient and quick worker

I think the slow and steady (well, sort of slow, you have to make it worthwhile) will win out in the end here. Right now I think they are only doing sites from China. If/when they expand to other countries, well the possiblities could offer alot of work for those truly wanting to work, and not just get rich quick.

ETA: wanted to mention that there were no fees attached. I received what I earned. Some pp were wondering about that last night. As far as I know there is no fee to transfer to your checking account. But if you upgrade to a Debit Card/Premier then you will get fees.

And paypal did not charge me any fees!!!!
