Legacy discount link

So everyone who is a legacy passholder really has to contact Disney to get a code/link even though they said it would be automatic? Come on Disney. I tried to link my passes to my account again (they disappeared a while back) and it says they are linked but nothing shows up and no merchandise code either 🤷‍♀️
Not in theory, but based on this thread apparently some are having issues. My passes expired last summer and the discount barcode is just there when I click on Tickets and Passes. I'm sorry so many are having to call. Ihope everyone gets this resolved soon with Disney!

Mine linked automatically the first day it was announced. Didn't have to contact anyone about it.

My mom's has taken a first request with a 25 hour wait time (and was marked resolved when it was not resolved because they got back to me while I was driving and I couldn't respond :rotfl: ). And now a second request that took 65 hours before someone got back to me. HOWEVER! This time they just linked it. Didn't need any additional input from me (I was messaging from the account the pass has been linked to previously).

So in true Disney fashion: some did, some didn't have it automatically added. I didn't even get the email about it nor did my mom (which is strange; usually at least one of us gets an email about some new announcement). Only knew about it from it getting shared across various social media platforms.
 
Hrm. Also interesting:

I can't delete mine, but my mom's shows as being able to be deleted from her account. She also doesn't have the "Legacy Passholder" designation under memberships. She does have Visa cardholder which I'm missing from mine. We both are showing our correct residency (California).

But she has the discount code finally and that's all that matters at this point :confused3 . I've got screenshots too just in case something goes sideways and I'll deal with the missing membership thing if I need to later.
 
Mine are in the app, which is great. But I am frustrated that as an out of state AP Legacy, the only way to use this discount is to travel to California, which the state of California has explicitly said I should not do to visit a theme park! I do not think they would honor this via a phone order to DTD stores, nor does it get honored on www.shopdisney.com (the WDW AP discount was honored there for a time). I paid the same for my AP, but I am not able to take advantage of the discount unless I break the “travel rules” of the state of California. Maybe someone knows how I can use this discount from Texas that I am unaware of?

They did send out a personalized one time use discount code for shopDisney to some Legacy (not all; I didn't get one nor did my mom) a little bit ago.

I sent in my constructive criticism when they didn't allow DLR APs to use their discounts like they did WDW APs on shopDisney and requested it be given as even just a short term offering as a good will gesture for those who do not live local. I got a canned response :confused3 . I haven't tried anything beyond that.

Mine expired in Sept 2020 but isn't in the app. I had mine and my one friend's passes in my phone. I try to scan mine and it says "The annual passport you are trying to link is no longer valid." but my friend who doesn't have the legacy code yet either says his is already linked when he scans it. I've been waiting for a response since Friday morning (3/19). It's frustrating.
 
I got an email a few minutes ago from Disney with a discount passcode - mine matches the "ticket" that was already in the app for me. (It's custom, not generic.) They say to use that code to link the "ticket" to your account.

(I'm assuming this is their workaround for the existing problems.)

So if you don't get that email within a day or two, it might be worth calling to see if they can give it to you over the phone so you can add it manually.

My husband got an emailed code, but I didn’t. I don’t usually get the emails, though. We’ll see.

I just got the email this morning. It worked. My friend didn't get his yet, so I checked his email preferences and he was unsubscribed to everything. I guess he will have to use the chat or call to get his.

I got a response 48 hours after I initiated the chat that they had resolved my issue and when I looked, all 4 AP discount barcodes were in there properly.

I put in the one from the second email and it has my name in the legacy pass in the app. I had my friend's pass in my phone. Is this one for his pass? Also it says Discount A.. anyone know what that A is or are they different based on the type of AP?
 
Just to update. I got two emails with two codes. I did one and it was my pass with my name. The other one I entered but it said invalid. Tried it on my friend's phone and it put his pass in. I'm not sure why they sent it to my email. I know I had both of our AP's in the app for backup purposes, but I would have thought they'd send his code to his email linked to his account. Strange. Oh well.. both are there now.
 
They had already put our passes in the app. Then I got emails today for two of our four passes only?? In any case, the “code” in the emails were the same as the pass number showing on two of our passes in the app already (each pass has a unique code/pass number). If you have a screen shot of your old pass, you can try using that as your code to enter in the app, even if you didn’t get the emailed code. Hopefully that works for some and saves a call or chat.

I see you already resolved the thing with your friend! But just wanted to say I saw some on Facebook say they got a pop up that basically was "this code is for X; are you X?". Interesting it came up as invalid for you! I mean, I know this is classic Disney, but it's still interesting to hear how it's affecting everyone differently.


As for the Discount A versus Discount B (I think you've already figured this out too, but for those that haven't):

Discount A: Premier, Sig+, and Sig
Discount B: Deluxe, Flex, SoCal, SoCal Select
 
Both DH and I received the emails today with the codes. Didn't really matter since a CM on the phone had already added the Discount Tickets to our apps.
Our experience at shops: CMs ask to see the physical AP, the Discount Ticket on the app, and photo ID. At restaurants, just the physical AP has been fine. At Ghirardelli, the CM asked to see only the physical AP and asked which level it was.
