Leftover pictures

I've been scrapping for about a year now and now I have a huge pile of pictures that didn't make it into the scrapbook. There are some events that have 2 or so pictures and other events that still have about 30. It seems like keeping the photo albums and scrapbooks for everything seems a bit much. I have all the pictures on my laptop and backed up on a CD, so would it be blasphemous (sp) to throw out some of them? What do you do with your leftover pictures?

give them away to people who might like them.

Maybe at the end of every year, sort out the ones you think someone else would like, send them a new years card complete with photos and start the next year off uncluttered!:flower3:

If I have extra photos I split them between my kids (5) and my mom... each child has their own photo box. Now I need to find some way to store all their cards thru the years. I got an accordian folder to hold all their certficates/sports calendars/report cards from school. My DH says I'm over organized.. we'll, I can find everything so I'm not wasting days and days and days searching!
I too have them backed up onto CDs so if for some reason I need a photo, I know where to find it... My DH and kids laugh at me and said the other day they were going to have to build a new room for my CDs of photos! and the problem is? these are beautiful memories...

I'm one of those that takes a zillion pics - I print only the ones I "think" I'm going to use, then once I'm finished scrapping the left over ones I put them in a "photofile" box by date (yes, I have both scrapbooks & photos not scrapped-since I am NOT a chronological scrapper), I also have a portable drive that I back up all my photos once a month.

The first time that I backed them up it took (not kidding) 3 hours :scared1:

The extra photos are used for some school project by my DDs, in their scrapbooks or just to send to my Dad when he asks for a particular event (like a ballet or cheer competition)

I have tons of pictures that have not made it into any scrapbooks but I hope to go back and work on some of those.

As for leftovers, I have seen some really creative ideas using pictures - like cutting them down into thin strips which will use several pictures. I think I might have to try this with some of the numerous extra photos.

I hold onto my leftover pictures as well. I may use them for a calendar or an art or school project.

Thanks for all of your ideas. I think I'm going to take them to mom and see what she wants and whatever she doesn't want, she can toss or give to my sister. I have them all on CD and my laptop so if I really want a copy of something, I can print it out in the future.
