Have a LOT of ham left. It was a precooked spiral from Costco. I just peeled some slices off to serve and stuck the rest of the ham back in the fridge. Now what? It is wrapped in foil, never been reheated, not left out for more than a few minutes, on the bone. Can I deal with it tomorrow or do I need to get it off the bone and put in a ziploc bag? Freeze it? Not sure what I'm gonna do with it, but don't want it to go to waste......

Just cover it good with foil. We keep our in the fridge for several days and use for another diner, ham salad, ham and eggs etc.

It's fine! Don't worry about dividing it up until tomorrow. :)

I like to make ham, steamed broccoli, and swiss cheese pockets. I buy the Rhode's frozen bread dough, divide one of the rolls into 4, then roll each quarter out flat and put the filling inside before closing them up and putting them in the oven for about 20-30 minutes at whatever temperature the bread dough states for cooking. You of course could make your own dough, too! For the filling I use cottage cheese, diced ham, steamed broccoli cut up, and top with a slice of Swiss cheese (you could use any cheese) before sealing it up. Make sure and make a couple of slices on the tops of the pockets to let steam out.

They are SO delicious, SO simple, and SO healthy!

The other night, we made the spiral ham for dinner. Afterwards, it got portioned into little baggies. A couple stayed in the fridge for immediate use, the others went into the freezer. The hambone went into it's own bag with a bit of the meat/fat still on the bone. In the next couple of days, we'll make bean soup.

Ham bones make a really good flavor for a lot of beans. Once it's cooked, just pull the bone out, and take the rest of the meat off and put it in the soup.

I use a bone in ham but I always make split pea soup, scallopped potatoes, Denver omelets. And I freeze off smaller portions that I can pull out of the freezer and defrost. The ham bone I wrap in tin foil and freeze right away. We also have ham sandwiches for a few days.

we had a spiral ham yesterday and now I'm looking forward to the leftovers! Am planning to do black beans/rice and ham and also ham sandwiches and ham and cheese omelettes. That will probably take care of most of the leftovers, but am looking forward to hearing what everyone else is doing with their leftover ham!

I would love to hear more recipes too! Would like to try something besides my usual split pea soup.

Squishy's sandwiches sound yummy - thanks for the specifics!

I officially killed the ham this year. My Dad bought the ham since I was at Disneyland - so great by the way. But it was a Hormel spiral, and it said it was pre-cooked, but to "warm" put in oven at 325 for 25 min per pound, and add glaze at the end. Which I did - bad move. That baby looked like it had been nuked big time! All curled up and overcooked. :(

I would like to try the Costco Ham at Easter - do you all warm it at all?

We did the Costco spiral ham with glaze. Mine said to heat at 275 for 15 minutes per pound. Then put glaze on and heat for 10 minutes more at 425. Only the first 2 pieces got overcooked. rest was really good.

I love making little ham sandwiches on leftover potato rolls the next day.

Love the hot pocket idea. Might have to try that.

Ham, Macaroni and cheese is good.Either with home-made or Boxed
Mac& Cheese.

Scrambled with eggs and served with toast is soooo quick and easy.

We like the bone cooked with a pot of elbow noodles. YUMMY.

Leftover Ham makes me want Quiche!

and of course nothings better than frying up some of that leftover ham for breakfast!

had our second x-mas today and i used a good chunck of the leftover hame for potato, ham and cheese soup. Everyone LOVED it and my inlaws are kinda picky about what they will eat. served it with leftover heated lazagna and some other snacks thrown in there and it was a HUGE hit!

Warmed some of our Smithield spiral tonight made scalloped potatoes with it and warmed up some sweet potato soufflee. Three teenaged girls devoured most of it at dinner, there is still enough ham for maybe five or six sandwiches.
