Left side coasters at Space Mountian?

Last week we rode Space Mountian twice on our MK day even though we could have ridden it all day long as it was a walk on pretty much. We rode once on the right side cars and once on the left. I prefer the left side far more. But, in all our trips, we have been handed off to the right side many more times.

So, is there a way to put in a preference if both sides are running? Anyone else prefer the left coasters over the right?

Ask the CM at the point where guests are separated into the two areas.

You’re the same as my DD, except she likes going to the right, and we’re almost always sent to the left. Every time we get close to the part where the line separates, she says, “I hope we get the right side this time!” I tried asking the last time we were there, but they told us we had to go to the left. It was at Thanksgiving and busy, maybe that was why.

I'm glad you agree with my family - the left side is better than the right, even though they're supposed to be mirror images! When both sides are open, depending on how long each line looks and what our plans are for after we ride, I'll ask politely at the split to ride on the left, just like I ask politely to ride in seat #6. All they can do is say no!

BTW we decided the left side was better than the right after riding Space five times in a row at the very end of one of the first E-Ticket nights, way back in the 1990s. I think it was a $10 or $15 add-on for each of us?

In my imagination, I think right side must be better cause I am always sent to the left ...

In normal times it was mostly FP+ goes to the right and SB goes to the left.
Once you come to the point where they direct you you can ask to be on one side or the other but ultimately its based on how busy one side is vs the other.

Supposedly they were designed to mirror each other. However, I doubt that they were precisely constructed in order to match exactly!

Not consider - they are mirror images (other than the the left being 10 ft. longer track to accomodate the tracks crossing but otherwise identical). Remember that any given ride experience can feel different depending on where in the car you sit - the weight distribution of other riders, etc. So the tracks may be identical - but the physics won't be the same from ride to ride.

I just wish there was an express exit to that ride. I cannot stand the long trudge off of it. Only reason we only ride once anymore lol
