I have a lunch ps at LeCellier but just read in "Walt Disney World With Kids" that it's suitability for kids is low while Coral Reef rated high. Anybody taken kids to LeCellier? Did they have a good time? I like the menu much better than Coral Reef, but maybe I should try to change my ps? What would you do?

BTW, dd's are 7&8 and are very well behaved.

Le Cellier is a great restaurant and my children who were 4 & 7 at the time (and I'm sorry to say have never been terribly well behaved) really enjoyed themselves. If your children are steak eaters, they'll really enjoy that as an addition to the more usual children's fare. DH and I loved the food, but there isn't a gimmick of any kind for the kids - just good food.

Coral Reef is a lots of fun, but unless you're sitting fairly close to the aquarium, it's a pretty frustrating experience for children. Please don't believe anybody who tries to tell you that every seat has a good view of the tank - those people are either highly imaginative or else they've always been close to the aquarium. I may even have thought that after my first few visits where we were in row 1 and row 2, but being seated in the very last row and having a giant "wave" in front of us to totally block the view changed my mind in a hurry.

Yes, definitely take your kids to Le Cellier ! It's Disneyworld !! They are very friendly there. My Grandson,6 yrs, loved the huge bread sticks . They have a kids menu. It's a wonderful place to relax and our favorite resturant in Epcot. The Cheddar Cheese soup is great and my favorite thing is the prime rib sandwich ! The Coral Reef is great too.My Grandson loved the HUGE aquarium.

Thank you CindyAnn for sharing your experience, that is exactly what I was looking for. I think we'll keep LeCellier and hope for the best.

Btw - I didn't mean that my children are always well behaved just that I can usually count on them to keep it together while in a restaurant!!

Thank you too magic cruiser (you posted when I was submitting!)

Some of the guidebooks can be extremely critical. It helps so much to have the opinions of regular people!!

I just ate there with my 3 year old ds last week. I never felt like kids don't belong there. They had crayons and kids menus like most everywhere else. He loved it - esp the pretzel bread. We had a late lunch but I would not hesitate to go back there for dinner with him. It was one of the best meals we had during our trip!

DD8 and DS5 loved LeCellier - DD said they had the best hotdogs in all of WDW! (she's a very picky eater!)
Enjoy!

Can someone describe the interior of Le Cellier? I'm almost sure that's where DH and I will have our adults only dinner this trip. I'd love to hear all about it.

We ate there last week (sans kids) but there were a lot of children there for dinner and they looked like they were having a great time! Le Cellier also has the light up ice cubes that are a bit hit with kids.

My kids request Le Cellier every trip. It is darker inside, think wine celler, and a great place for a late lunch.

Your daughters will be fine! Go for it, they have very good food there. I think the Coral Reef might get a higher rating for the entertainment value that the aquarium setting provides.

We have eaten their with our Kids and they like it. Like the one soup they have a lot. Now cant think of it but its been mentioned on this board a lot. Anyway, dont be afraid to take your family there. In fact in comparing it to the C-reef I would go to Le Cellier. The Reef is way over pirced in my humble view.

currycook,
Are you thinking of the Cheddar Cheese Soup at Le Cellier? (yum!)

We went their last year with our 2 DD's ages 8 and 4 and they did fine. My biggest problem was the facination with going to the bathroom every 10 minutes.

They both enjoyed the breadsticks and I shared my soup with them because we had been grazing around the world that day during the Food & Wine Festival and I wanted them to eat their dinner. But they went nuts over the desert-Chocolate Moose of course. We got a comment from the couple sitting right next to us as they left "your children are so well behaved." Well they didn't see my older one throughout the park that day complaining how hot it was, and my feet hurt, or the bickering between the 2 of them. But at least they were good when it really counted.

Don't worry and go and have a great meal. I know we are looking forward to ours in December.

Is there any 'dress code' for Le Cellier? My DH prefers wearing his jeans shorts in the parks and I know he won't want to dress up at all. I made a PS for there on Sept. 9 (our 25th anniversary). Is it a good choice for our anniversary dinner? Thanks to all on this board......I don't know how I could have planned this trip without all the good information I've found here!:D
