Hi - I searched and could not find anything. Does anyone have any details on the new fixed price Appy/Main/Dessert menu at Lecellier? Like price and what items are included.

Thanks! :goodvibes

What is this about....I have heard/read nothing about this. Please fill me in.

Thanks.

I searched and the only thing I could find with Le Cellier and fixed menu was during Candlelight Processional. I found a revew on another site from last year. I don't think they offer a fixed menu the rest of the year. The menu on allearsnet.com is pretty current (May 08)

Are you planning on going during the holidays?

ADDED-I see by your ticker that your trip is in 2 months so that wouldn't be holiday season.

I just read it in someone's trip report from 7/28/08.

See quote below:

"We arrived at Le Cellier about 10 minutes before our ADR time and got a table pretty quickly. They were offering a new special paper menu insert that gave appetizer/entree/dessert all at one set price and it WAS available for the Dining Plan. Super cool!!!!"

Just thought someone else may have heard about it.

Sounds like this may be an additional menu option, in addition to the regular menu. At least I sure hope so!

Bumping for more details.

There is a fixed menu at Chefs (French onion soup, ham & cheese sandwich, and creme brulee) but I read that it was not available on the DDP because the DDP doesn't include appetizers.

That sounds interesting! Pretty cool. Sounds like it's something they are trying out. Hopefully it'll still be offered when you go. :goodvibes

FYI - The OP on the thread posted above says:

The server said it was a brand new menu, and it was printed on paper in a tri-fold type of presentation that seemed to be substantial enough to last quite a long time. I wouldn't guess it's going away anytime soon, but I'm not sure. You have three choices of appetizer... soup, salad, and one other one I can't remember, then 4 entree choices, prime rib, salmon, mushroom ravioli, and I think chicken, then 3 dessert choices, sherbert, creme brulee, and chocolate "moose". $36.99 or one table service credit.

This is the first and only mention of such a thing on this board.

Hard to believe that they're permitting a fixed menu meal with an appetizer on the basic dining plan, but it looks like that is exactly what was offered the person who is reporting.

I just read the whole trip report and was going to post but team weasel beat me to it. Maybe they'll do this at others TS as well? Would be great!

That's what I love about disboards-when something happens at WDW you find it here soon! The disboarder who is posting her live TR had it 2 nights ago! How's that for up to the minute news. :disrocks:

Sounds like a better option than the one at Chef's Du France. They only had one option last year when we were there. It's nice to see some options available for a fixed menu. It sounds like a great deal to me.

That's very interesting, because when we went to Chef's de France in April there were seven of us and only four had the dining plan. When we ordered the "special" which was soup, chicken and dessert, we were told that if we were on the dining plan, we would be charged for the soup. I thought that was really tacky, because the special was cheaper with the appetizer than ordering just a steak and dessert. It turned out that the two people who ordered it were not on the DDP so they weren't charged extra for the soup.

We are getting the DDP again in December, but because of all the downgrades, my husband is really pushing the idea of going offsite for dinners, and since we are going for nine nights, I can't even complain that it will cut into touring time. If they make any more cuts for the 09 plan, I'm afraid he'll get his way, and we may end up just bypassing Disney dining altogether for our February trip.

This could actually be brilliant on WDW's part - there is one beef entree on this price-fix list and it happens to be the cheapest of the beef entrees. The other entrees offered are chicken, salmon and vegetable - not close to the most expensive things on the menu. Three low end appetizer choices, and three low end dessert choices.

Could it be they're experimenting to see if basic dining plan customers will voluntarily give up being able to order the most expensive items on the menu if they can also get an appetizer?

I realize after seeing the last post that there isn't any reason for a guest on the DDP to want to order a fixed price menu made up of items that are also on the regular menu unless they are on the basic plan and they think they could get an appetizer out of it. Otherwise, they could just pick the same items off the menu.
