We're paying OOP for short trip next week, happy to get ADRs last minute for lunch @ LeCellier & 50's, all recommendations are welcome.

LeCellier:
I must have the cheese soup & breadsticks:banana:, DH will order one of the steaks, probably the strip.

I'm not a fan of their open steak sandwich, was thinking of ordering either the hamburger or steak salad to go with my cup of soup

50's

we've always skipped it for one of the fantasmic pkgs, our 1st time there:

Pot Roast, mr is picky, but luvs his pot roast;)

Fried Chicken, looks good from the pics ive seen, seems to be quite a bargin @ $15 or so OOP

I had a grilled chicken sandwich at LeCellier that was pretty good! My dh and ds love the fried chicken at 50's PT, I had a chicken sandwich there also that was good!:rotfl:

DW loves the Pot Roast at 50's. She gets it every time!

I had the Fried Chicken last time, and it was very good. I should've asked for green beans though as my veggie. It normally comes with collard greens, which is a little too close to spinach for my liking.

As far as for LeCellier, well, we always get steaks. Sorry, no help here on that one.

We were at both last December. Food was excellent at both locations.

Service was great at LC, though we did feel rushed at times. We both had the filet with mashed potatoes...and of course the soup & breadsticks!

50s was a whole other story! We went for the atmosphere and ended up stuck in the farthest back corner with a waitress who didn't seem interested in playing the storyline. I've mentioned this elsewhere, but we sometimes feel, as a childless couple, we don't always get the same "performance" from CMs at these types of places that a larger family would. Anyway, we ordered the fried chicken and meatloaf, splitting both so we could each try them. Both were excellent, but a little heavy if you plan to continue heavy touring after your meal.

I love both places! Le Cellier is so amazing to me though, that filet was good I would pay OOP for it. I am not doing the dining plan in Nov and that is one of the places I am willing to pay whatever because I enjoyed it so much in May.

thanx for the opins:thumbsup2good idea re sharing meals @ 50's, didn't even know they had fish on the menu, will have to revisit it.

Loved the steak salad at Le Cellier. At 50's Prime Time we order the meat loaf...very good!

Your hubby will love the strip at LC. It was one of the most tender steaks I've ever eaten.

I love the meatloaf at Prime Time...it's so good !

The chicken at the 50's diner is amazing, but the lunch portions are huge! We've always had fantastic servers at the diner. My parents always go there for lunch and have even more fun with the servers than when we go with the big group. I think there you have to be a bit of a smart.....aleck to get them going.:lmao:

We love LeCellier best! It's a must everytime we go. The food and service are always great!:cheer2:

going to go find pic on food pic site, wonder if it's big enough to share, considering i'll want dessert;)

We love everything at '50's. I love the chicken ( I do ask them to leave off the greens) DS21 ALWAYS gets meat loaf. Hubby gets pot roast or chicken everytime. Little guy gets the kids menu so he doesn't count in food opinions.

It is a crap shoot as to the interaction with the wait staff. I think if you egg them on they will be more likely to play a long. I think this time DS GF and I will be splitting lots of meals and this will be one of them because it is a ton of food.

We love 50's. We have gone every time. DH always gets the fish sand., I always get the pot roast and the kids both get the stacked sand. The food is always been good. I think I'm going to get the chicken this time though. We have been once to LeCellier. It was really good, too. We all had the New York Strip. We had lunch reservations at both. We are going back to both at the end of Sept. (). I hope you enjoy them as much as we have.

I couldn't get reservations for dinner either :( Does Le Cellier still serve their Mushroom Filet Mignon at lunch time? Is it a smaller portion or any less tasty than the one they serve at dinner?

We have not been to Le Cellier yet, but we were at 50's for lunch yesterday. We have been to WDW many times (and now we have APs!) but had not tried 50's before this trip.

Anyway, I loved this place. I thought the acting would be annoying, but it wasn't - it was fun. Our server even made our oldest set the table. The wedge salad was excellent, and I also shared the chicken pot pie with our oldest - it was great. The restaurant is really well-themed, too. Two of our boys ordered kids' meals and really enjoyed the mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and soup. So I highly recommend 50's.

The only negative is that we really love talking with our boys during meals at WDW, and the TVs were a little distracting to them. It's not like at Sci Fi where you are in the cars and expect that you won't be able to talk. The TVs are there, but not right in front of you, so we were sometimes in the middle of a conversation and one of the boys would drop off. Other than that, great restaurant and great choice for lunch!

they do, and imo, the lunch steaks (early Dec '09) seemed to be much smaller than the ones we had @ dinner (end of July '09):confused3. One of the main reasons im going to skip the steak and do bowl of soup/pretzel bread & salad or 'burger there. Mr won't give up his strip steak. BTW, don't give up, i've found lunch ADRs @ LeC open up even a few days before our trip...just keep on trying:wizard:

pigletforever - im laughing re comment re child on dining plan & his opinion, believe i've said the same thing:laughing:
