I know I am not the only one in this boat (unfortunately!!) ... so I think we need to order up a truck load of pixie dust !!!

It sounds like Wilma will hit Florida on Saturday ... right smack dab in the middle of our Honeymoon/Vacation trip :sad1: :sad1:

We went and bought rain ponchos last night ... is there anything else we should bring with us? At what point do they usually close the parks? Is it when the weather gets a certain distance away ... or is it based on how much rain and wind?

Thanks !
Norma

We are leaving tomorrow too!!!!! It figures its been raining here in NY for the past 10 days and now we get to go on vacation and walk around in the rain....Hey, nothing we can do about it....got our ponchos packed and just praying for good weather on the night of the MNSSHP on Thursday!!!

Have a wonderful trip......we'll be the family stomping in the puddles!! :cool1:

We're hearing Sunday night here. Keep watching it though, it may stay pretty far to our south, however, we'd be in for at least strong tropical storm winds now it seems. Now it seems certain to head in our direction (Florida that is), now the important thing is where it makes landfall and at what angle it crosses the state. We're also hearing that it will be a fast mover...like Charley was. If that's the case, and it does hit Sunday night...they may close the parks early and open later depending on damage. But its' purely speculation at this point. We will have a much better idea by Thursday I'd say.....

Have a safe trip!

We've been going to WDW every year since 2000 with the last 2 trips being in late October to correspond to DD's Fall Break. This year we made the (very difficult!) decision not to go to WDW but if we were going we would have been leaving this Saturday. :sad1:

We actually fly out tomorrow for Tampa, followed by a short stop at WDW beginning Friday! I'm checking each update that Noaa gives... and they're toying with me! The 5 am update showed it coming across Florida quite a bit BELOW Tampa, and then the 11 am update moved it North again! STOP THAT! :sad2:

Great to hear from somebody in Orlando. Hopefully you can keep us updated with your local info. Stay safe, we'll be joining you there soon.

and I just unpacked my suitcase so I could put in the ponchos and the umbrellas!

Let's hope it stays away from everyone, but if it has to hit, I am hoping for a late hit on Sunday night as we have an 8:00 p.m. flight out of there! :earseek:

We leave Thursday also - Sunday is our slow day - so I am ok with that - DH flys home on Monday - so here is hoping he can get off on time... and my dad is one of the many that live in one of those trailer homes... so *fingers crossed* it will not be a bad storm so that it will be ok .

have a safe trip all!
