Leaving tomorrow, starting to lose it!

So I can't remember this simple Magicband feature. I'm going on a split stay, have customized both Magicbands, and am starting to pack my carry on. Does it matter which band I pack/wear? Do they both work for the entire trip?

Yup! A magicband is just a direct connection to your my disney experience account. You could honestly just bring 1 set and save some packing space

I bring 4 or 5 and use them interchangeably the entire trip. One thing I do every day before I leave is to test the magicband I'm wearing that day before I leave. I have had to trudge back to the front desk after a long day at the parks because my magicband didn't let me in that night.

I bring a few to match with my day's outfit. Not sure I'll do that anymore after our last trip when I left the resort wearing one of my DH's bands. GS at the park was able to get me in somehow though, not sure how. I didn't have a problem with fp either.

All our bands even have our names and dates on the inside!

After many trips which included several split stays, we each have literally dozens of magic bands with multiples in each color. We also usually bring several to switch out, match outfits, etc. Having one or two not work is very common.

Here is a simple trick that has worked every time for us both at the start of the trip and even when a band suddenly stops working in the middle (which happened to me last week when I could not get back into the room): Just go into your MDE account and deactivate the magic band. Wait a few minutes and then re-activate it. It always seems to fix the problem without having to trudge down to the front desk.

I had no idea people used the bands in so many ways! I'd always choose colors and put names inside just so we wouldn't get our bands mixed up, but this time I wanted to mark the year and resort. But in the future, maybe I'll bring all the bands from all the years...

You are starting to lose it way too early. Wait till you get to the airport and you've forgotten your carry on then lose it.

I always put our initials n mos/yr inside our bands too!
