This will be our first stay at the Nick Hotel (followed by 9 nights at POR)........anyone have any advice on the attractions/shows at the hotel? How early do they usually let you in the room? (we have an 11mo baby).

Any tips/advice is appreciated.

They typically let you in at about 3:00 pm. There will be a ton of screaming kids there, so be prepared for that. Your older child will want to get slimed, so make sure you get him out to the lagoon pool every day before 3:30 so he can get picked to play the game show out there. If he doesn't get picked, he can get underneath the big bucket at the lagoon pool at 4:45 and the fill it with slime and dump it. Have you made reservations to the character breakfast? You should, it was a load of fun. You can make ressies when you get there. There is usually an assortment of characters there, these are the possibilities: Spongebob, Patrick, Dora, Diego, Cosmo and Wanda, Tommy Chuckie and Angelica, and Blue. Characters also appear in the Mall at random times, so check for that too. If you want, you should try to get tickets to the Studio Nick shows (Specifically Nickelodeon Live), they are free and very fun. If you want, there is parties that you can go to, but they cost some $$. If you decide to go to one, Try to go to the Slime one or the Spongebob one. They will be just the right amount of fun and messyness for your son.

Have a great trip! (Say Hi to Spongebob for me!)

thank you........I took notes on your reply!!!....we won't be pulling into Nick until around lunchtime Thursday, so we'll miss the character breakfast.

Are there any nice, sit-down type places to eat there? If not, we'll probably go off-site for dinner.

Thanks again...

There are not any nice places to eat in the hotel, so I suggest going outside the hotel for eats.

riu girl, these are the shows

Dora and Boot's Singalong Adventure

A singalong show with Dora and Boots. This is the only daytime show.

Nickelodeon Live!

It's a game show where the winning team gets slimed. If you want to be a a part of it, go to guest relations and ask for a sign up card. If you can only see one show, then make it this one. It is all around fun, and you may get picked out of the audience to play.

Who Knows Best?

A Newlywed Show-type game, but with parents and their kids.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

Thanks for this useful thread! I'm thinking of a summer vacation to Nick Hotel instead of Disney this year. All my son wants to do is play inthe pool at the hotel anyway.

But...I don't like the dinng options. How far are we from restaurants? We won't have a car so we'll need to cab it I suppose or walk?? Is there a website where I can figure out what's nearby?

Thanks a million!

Beth :)

there are many dining options near the hotel, off the freeway. If you can rough it, I suggest you try getting into Emeril's at Citywalk. I has some great fod and the service is top notch.
