We're leaving for WDW tomorrow and I've been scouring these boards for tips, reviews, and information... it's an amazing resource. I think we're ready except for trying to figure out one detail on the last day of our trip.

As of now, I have reservations to take my DD (she'll turn 5 in May) to the Perfectly Princess Tea while DH takes my DS (2.5) to Chef Mickey's on our last day at WDW. Although I would love to do the princess tea with DD, who LOVES Aurora, I'm starting to feel as though I'll be missing out on Chef Mickey's with the boys and that we might have more fun being together as a family on our last day. Should we stick together and do Chef Mickey's as a family, or is the Princess Tea worth missing out on that one breakfast?

(By the way, we will be doing the Crystal Palace breakfast, which we've done before, but we haven't done Chef Mickey's in the past.)

Thanks for any last-minute advice!!

I don't have advice for you, but I just wanted to say have a magical trip! I'm only a tad bit jealous that you're leaving TOMORROW!!!!! But, I'm really excited for you... Have a wonderful time!

That is hard! We have done both. Chef Mickey's is fun...but the tea is a once in a lifetime thing! I brought my DD last April (turned 5 in May) and she LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to know more details, I will tell you all about it.

In my opinion, you can do CM anytime...go with the Princess Tea...especially if Aurora is a favorite...

LIGrumpy Girl,
If you don't mind, would you tell me a little more about the tea? I've read different reviews - some say there's not enough character interaction to be worthwhile and some say there's not enough food to make it a "meal" ... but then many other reviews just rave about how great it is. I'm sure its greatness has more to do with seeing your DD's face light up than the food itself ... what was your take on it???? Thanks so much!

I would vote for the Princess tea. I did that with my DD this trip. We had SUCH a great time. CM will always be there, but your DD won't always be a little girl in love with a Princess.

I think some people feel misled because Princess Aurora is NOT there for the whole tea. Each girl is introduced and given a tiara. There is a Disney Doll dressed as Aurora waiting at each girl's chair. It is about an hour/hour and fifteen minutes of Rose Petal, another Princess, leading the event, singing songs and telling stories. The meal is very light, with tea sandwiches, grapes and a slice of cake. You are definitely not paying for a big meal. Then, Aurora comes in for the last 30 mins or so. She leads the girl in a parade around the room and then visits each girl individually and gives her a rose.

I don't know, it's not for everyone, but when they put the tiara on my DD's head and sprinkled her with rose petals, I got a little teary eyed. It's the kind of thing I always wanted to do as a little girl but never did, so it was so fun to do it with my DD.
