DH and I will be there on Saturday :cool1: , we are planning to go to MK for the night parade and wishes. We have Fantasmic on Monday night. Does it get crowded leaving after the nightly shows?

yes .depending on how busy it is you maight need to wait for a second bus so imo we take our time gettting out ( instead of mowing people down) and just get on the bus that usually comes about when we get there( like 1/2 hr or so after the park closes.) we do go in off season but the buses run for at least an hr after closing so don't kill yourself running to stand in line and wait. i would guess MK would be packed but i think many are locals so the buses may not be any worse than usual

Yes, but we never mind that because we take our time browsing through the shops for a while til the crowds die down. The buses run for quite a while after the evening shows are over so it's not as if you need to hurry or you'll miss one... Just enjoy more of the magic of Disney til things aren't so crowded!!

If it is just you and your DH, no kids, I would agree on waiting. I am a solo traveler, and I even wait till almost the last bus, but then I don't have to rely on others who may have less patience. Especially if you do not like standing for a long time. I have sat at the most for about an hour. Another thing too is to find a place inside the park, and sit for a while, least you can enjoy the night sights, while sitting. There is very limited seating at the bus area.

Yup, it is busy. I am a solo traveler and I will walk through the shops a bit, then sit on a bench and people watch. I also find I will also chat with fellow guests that are also waiting.

OH, YES! A fun thing to do after Wishes is to sit and watch the old Mickey Mouse movies that they show. The theatre is in the last building on the left before the exit. We sat and watched the whole loop - 3 or 4 movies. They are laugh out loud funny.

We found a GREAT spot for Wishes on the platform of the MK train station. Got there about an hour before SpectroMagic. Bided our time people watching; periodically someone in our party (there were four of us) would take a break and go browse the shops for a few minutes. The time passed quickly. And after the fireworks, we were among the first out the front entrance.

Result?

We left the MK at 10:15, hopped on the first bus to the Board Walk, and were striding up the sidewalk to the lobby of our hotel at 10:45. :cool1:

In June we watched Wishes along the side of the castle. After that we sat on a bench facing the castle and just did some people watching. Amazing site seeing everyone head to the park exits. After a while we headed over to our bus and it was very quiet. As we walked towards the turnstiles to exit I heard Mickey thanking everyone for coming. I just assumed it was a recording but for some reason I turned around and Mickey was on the train platform waving goodbye to everyone. What a nice touch! :wave2:
A great way to end a Disney day! :earsboy:

Just to repeat what everyone has already said, "Yep...it's a madhouse"! For Fantasmic, we sat in our seats for about 20 minutes after the show ended and just watched the masses go by. Then, we took our time strolling out of the theater and through MGM. We even stopped to talk for a while to a CM who filled us in on all kinds of "hauntings" at the TOT! By the time we got out to the bus stop, the sea of humanity has already departed and we got right on the next bus with only about 20 other people. It was a nice, relaxing way to end the day instead of pushing/shoving/stepping on toes trying to rush out.

I always said that at the end of Fantasmic, a person could die and still be carried out to the front gate with the mass of people- no one would know! It is very claustrophobic in all places that have a "grand finale" show.

How cool! I didn't know about this. I can't seem to picture exactly where your talking about though. Is it over close to Tony's or directly on Main Street?

The theater is in the the building with Tony's, go through to the back.

Many years ago that theater was in the middle of Main St.

It can get very congested at the transportation to get out of the park. It's best to either get out immediately after the parade, or linger around MK and leisurely check out the stores. Chances are if you don't get out right away or don't take your time getting out, that you will be standing when you board a bus or monorail back to the resort. Lines at the trams can get long too.

Watch out for backpacks when leaving. Some people either forget or do not care that they have these on and don't mind using them to muscle their way thru the crowds.

I found out a secret way out of Epcot lol...doing the same thing. Walk over to Boardwalk and right on to a bus for DTD, then right on to PC bus. I was back at the hotel in less than an hour(took me about 10 mins to get to the bus, then it left quite quickly, then DTD, switched to Pop Century bus), where as if I had gone out the reg way, would still be waiting for the crowd to thin out
