We are leaving in less than 2 weeks for our Magic cruise. Our younger child is 3, so this is a perfect time to try our first cruise. We are going with three other families.

I want to sincerely thank the great people on this board. Thanks to Cindy, we got a postcard for a $50 credit for one family in our group. Thanks to several posters, I advised one familiy in our group to switch their booking to AAA and get free soft drink mugs for that family. Thanks to Kathi, I learned about snuba and now will get to be with my son while he has his first underwater experience. Thanks to Kathi's experience (she and husband are divers) she gave me the idea to rent dive equipment for me and my husband to dive with our son while he and his grandfather do snuba. We have even talked some non-diving friends into going snuba-ing too, and I know they will like it.

Thanks to other posters, I know I may be offered an onboard booking credit, so I have done some homework in pricing trips for next year and will be able to compare the prices I get onboard to see if it's worth it.

Thanks to you, I knew to call the airlines to get good seating assignments 30 days before the trip, and to come a day early to spend the night at the Hyatt.

Again, thanks to the good people of this board, I did not book any excursions through Disney (I hate group herding activities) but will be able to get around St. Martin (or Sint Maarten, isn't that what Dave wants us to call it?), St. Thomas and St. John very well by following the excellent ferry, taxi, etc. tips I gleaned from this board.

I have benefitted from much good advice from many experienced and good-hearted people who give of their time to help those of us who have never been on a Disney cruise. Barb and Tony, I have seen your photos and have enjoyed and appreciated the information and opinions you have shared. Dave, if I go again I will use your travel tips and will not book Disney transfers. To the webmasters, thank you for hosting this site. It must take an enormous amount of time but even if you don't hear it all the time, we appreciate it.

As a newbie, I have only one tip for my fellow travelers -- to those of you who are going to try snorkeling for the first time, and I hope you love it, it's "masks and fins", not "goggles and flippers". ;)

Everyone, thank you so much for all of the excellent information. Now all I'm going to do is relax, not worry about anything, even about Palo reservations, and enjoy the time with my family and our friends.

Wishing you all the best,

Liza

My family and I want to wish you the best time
of your life! Our cruise doesn't happen until
Aug. 17th, but reading these boards everyday
helps us with the LONG wait. We were on the
3-day Wonder 2 yrs. ago - the cruise went by
so quickly - my advice to you (and me!) - take
it slow, day by day - don't rush the time.

Liza,

What a great post! This forum is indeed a wonderful, rich community in its people and information - I can't imagine planning a trip to Disney without it!

Kudos and thanks to all those who post and share - it is the community that makes this board so amazing!

Liza,

You say you are cruising in less two weeks, are you cruising on the 16th?

Michele

Liza,

I can't remember reading anything about snuba? Can you fill me in or direct me to a thread?

I have twin DD's age 5 and I want them to experience snorkeling or scuba.

I love this thread!!! I have thought those same thoughts and you put it so eloquiently (sp)!!

Have a great time and I can't wait to hear back from you!!

Becki

Liza,

We are also cruising on the 16th. we are planning a dis meet for Sunday at 12:30 at the promenade lounge. Come join us on our thread, roll call for March 16th.

Hope to see you there!

Michele

Becki, for snuba info. go to www.visnuba.com. Your daughters are too young, however, as the minimum age is 8. Hope they enjoy snorkeling. Also, I saw something on the Coral World site about sea walking (can't remember exactly what it's called) -- I didn't really look into it, but I think it's an underwater experience with helmets instead of regulators. Perhaps the minimum age for that is younger. Good luck.

Michelle, I'll try to stop by Sunday. Thanks for the invitation.
