Hello,

I am taking my 8 yr old on the 23rd arriving at 3:30 and staying at the All Star Sports since it is just the 2 of us and we will just be sleeping there. What I need to know is what should we do Fri night? We will be there at 3:30 and want to get what we can in. We only have 2 1/2 days !!!!. My Son loves to swim do you think it will be warm enough? Do they have anything less then a 4 day hopper? We will try to hit 2 parks on Sat. if possible. We really want to see alot. He doesn't like rides so we don't have to waste time online for those and I am 3 months pregnant so I won't be doing any crazy rides. However he would like the water rafting at the Animal Kingdom do you think it would be ok for me to do that? Any advise for us would be great. Thanks.

Nicole

Since you are only going to be there for such a short time, maybe you should immediately go to a park. Our favorite place to go on the day we arrive is Downtown Disney. Disney only sells 4 day Park Hoppers, there is someplace you can buy 3 day Park Hoppers (maybe Alamo?). When we went in January it was way to cold to swim, but there were people in the pool.

You should not ride Kali River Rapids at the Animal Kingdom if you are pregnant :( For lots of good info on being pregnant at Disney World check out Passport's tips , #6 lists the attractions you should avoid.

Hope you have a wonderful trip!!!

Thank for the info and yes someone else told me about the Alamo too so I will check that out and I will check out the tips. Thanks alot.

Hi nhnikki...........Welcome to the Dis:D

Depending on what your son enjoys there are lots of things to do.
Swimming shouldn't be a problem as long as the air temperature isn't too low......I believe I read somewhere that all Disney pools are heated. (BTW he is going to love the AllStars)

Some of it depends on how late you want to keep him up the night before a big day, but there is a lot to do......... minigolf, a petting zoo at Fort Wilderness, the floating electrical water pagent on Seven Seas Lagoon, Downtown Disney, strolling the Boardwalk with icecream and watching the performers and fireworks from EPCOT, it might be a good opportunity to do a character meal at Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary and a ride on the Monorail so you don't have to take time out of your touring day for this. The list goes on and on.

I hope you have a great trip :D

Personally, I do not think I would waste a day on my park hopper for your first day. You arrive at 3:30 pm. It will take you probably until at least 5pm to get to the hotel. You go to your room and drop your stuff off and catch a bus somewhere ... maybe MK. But in January the parks close early. MK is only open until 7 pm. So you would only get a couple hours in at the park. EPCOT future world is only open until 7 pm and World Showcase is open until 9 pm. So that may be your best bet.

I might swim and explore at the resort. Or head over to Fort Wilderness for the movie and campfire at the campground area (free). Or look around at downtown Disney. Or go to Animal Kingdom lodge to see the animals (transportation may be tricky here because AK isn't open late.) Or maybe make a dinner PS at Boma (I guess you could taxi it since it is so close) or some other restaurant (chef mickeys?)

But, since you have such a short time at the parks, maybe you should get in as much park time as possible. It just seems like a lot of money for just a couple hours.

On the other 2 days, make sure you get up early and do the extra magic hour. You will get a lot done in that time.

Edit: I posted about the same time as the other poster. So we have some of the same ideas. Sorry.

Thanks so much. I can't wait to get there. I think I will do Epcot Fri night. He would never be interested in seeing everything there anyways so we will pick out the most important and hit those and maybe get to see the light show or is it fireworks that epcot has? On Sat we will do MK and have dinner at the Animal Lodge to view the animals and Sun we can go to Animal Kingdom and MGM. Does that sound like a plan?

Nicole

Sounds like a great plan to me. We are also going to Animal Kingdom and MGM on Sunday. If you want to see Fantasmic then you might want to get there early to see the show. It is the last day before the show goes into rehab for the week and I think that there may be a lot of people trying to see the show. You don't have to worry about Kali River Rapids because it is in rehab while you are there. I sure hope it is warm enough to swim.

Fantasmic is at MGM studios......
here's a link to some great photo's of it.......

WOW I CAN'T MISS THAT. MY SON WILL LOVE IT BUT I DIDN'T SEE A TIME. I WILL LOOK AGAIN. THANKS

You don't want to miss it. It is a great show. We usually see it a few times while we are there. It starts at 7pm. I think we are going to get there around 6 and have hot dogs for dinner while waiting for the show.

Thanks that sounds like a good plan and now that you said Hot Dog I am craving one :) I am 3 months pregnant. So maybe I will see you there. I am the one with the long blonde hair hanging out with my 8 yr old son :) we are going to have sooooo much fun. I can't wait. I am nervous about the plane ride since I hate plans but I am sure we will be fine. He actually loved it when we fly about 2 yrs ago. I was the baby and he was laughing at me but I had My husband there which helped and he won't be there this time .
