First what is going on with pirates nigh? Special dinner? Party?
Second...we have always arrived on the DCL bus and this time we are driving...how do we do luggage? Is there a drop off point and they will deliver it to our room? :confused3
Thanks in advance for the help. :cool1:

There is a Pirate Night Deck Party...buffet with nice desserts

As for driving, dropping off.....you pull car up to terminal in a designated area, unload your passengers and luggage....the porters are there to handle the luggage (tip them accordingly...for 4-5 bags, I give $10),which will magically appear at your stateroom door by 2pm usually.... then you can drive a short distance to the parking lot....the attendant will charge you $10.00 per day....you then park the car, with a short walk back to terminal...

Word of caution: Do not leave ANY food items in your car.....you will have ant infestation of epic proportions....

Yes, you'll be guided to a place to drop of luggage (and give it to the guys who load it on the ship - you'll need tip money for them - at least $1 per bag - probably a minimum of $5) and then you can go and park the car. My wife and daughter just waited with our carry-ons - I walked back and then went through security and up the escalator to check-in. (when you leave - the stevedores are also available to help with bags - but don't fall for the "it's my birthday today" gag - as it happened, the same guy who helped us with luggage last summer helped us this time on disembarking - last summer he told us that it was his birthday that day - so, I gave him a bigger tip - I recognized him this time and had my wife ask him when his birthday was - he said "today" - and when we "called" him on it "nicely of course" - he asked the stevedore next to him when his birthday was -"today" he said. But they will take all your bags all the way to your car in the parking lot. If it is raining they will have small vans that will take your luggage to a tent in the parking lot (that's what happened for us last summer anyway). You don't need that on arrival as you drop off right at the terminal building. Of course you have your luggage tags in your documents to put on the bags you "check".

The pirate party was on nassau day. There's dancing, etc. at the mid-ship pool area - where the sailaway party is. The music was too loud for my daughter (and me) so we left - my wife stayed a bit longer. We watched the fireworks from the deck 7 aft deck - with a glass of wine and a chocolate milk. Good location to see them. The buffet set up for after the party looked very nice - appetizers and desserts. I think there is some short "show" with the Disney characters fighting off captain Hook. Which my daughter would have enjoyed but the music to lead into it...loud. I think it is hard to gauge when it all happens as it depends on when all the diners are out of the restaurants. we were told the fireworks would be between 10:15 and 10:30 but they weren't until 10:45 - but the second seating dinner got started late because of some "techincal difficulties" at the early show of Disney Dreams which delayed its start - so everything was then set back about 10 minutes.
