Can anyone tell me if they have ever left the ship with their kids in the Club activities? DH and I would like to go to Atlantis and leave the kids to have fun in the activities. I know that we will have a beeper. Just looking for some input. Thanks in advance! Only 15 DAYS!!!!

We went shopping in St Thomas and left DD7 on the ship- she went shopping with us in St Maarten and that was enough for her. You do have the pager - although they said they did not work off the ship. I just told the couselers in the club we would be leaving the ship and they wanted to know what time we expected to be back. We were gone about 2 hours. DD7 had a much better time in the clubs than if she were shopping.

I think it just depends on how comfortable your kids are in the clubs.

The last cruise I took was Disneys Big Red Boat but when we were on there we left the kids (4 and 2) in plutos playhouse while we went snorkling and shopping in Nassua, then we went back to the ship to get them to take them into Nassua and they would not leave the club to come with us, they were having to much fun. We actually rushed because we felt guilty leaving htem there but they didn't want to hang out with us anyway LOL.

Our 7 year old stayed in the Club while my husband and I went over to Atlantis. We were not sure what the laws were in Nassau regarding legal age in casinos. We spent a little time in the casino and looking in the shops. We were a little hesitant, but he had a much better time in the Club. We had to take a water taxi then walk about a mile.

We left our 8 and 9 year old and took our oldest to St. John's with us and we were gone for quite awhile. I figured they were safer than we were - since we could have missed the boat but at least they would be on it! It was their choice. St. Maarten wore them out. When we got back to the ship, they waved us away. In fact the nine year old didnt' even eat with us that night.

I think you have to think about the possibilty of something going wrong and how you'd react to it. We made it very clear to the kids that they would be on their own in the club and with the counselors and that we couldn't suddenly appeared if they decided they were done playing.
