I can't believe this is happening to ME! :confused3
I just can't get myself together! I haven't made my checklist, haven't called in my room preferences :earseek:
I haven't even started the customary "Okay you can't wear any of these clothes in this stack because they are for the trip" clothes quarantine.

Come on fellow Dis'er if anyone can help me you can! :worship:

OMG how can you not? I've been packing for weeks, actually made my packing list months ago. Every night I go to the "disney" corner of our bedroom and rearrange all our luggage LOL. I'm losing my mind waiting for the next 2 weeks to go by.

Okay sit down, think about what you are most looking forward to doing on this trip, and write down what you want to wear for that. The rest of the list should flow from there. I leave in a little under 4 days and I'm mostly packed. I can't wait.

Thanks Laura I honestly am trying to get going...it will be a bittersweet trip since the last time we were there was when my Dad found out he had cancer, he has since passed....but I didn't think I would be this Blah!

I'm going to let your excitement get to me by computer osmosis!
Keep up the happy thoughts! :Pinkbounc

That's a good idea! I am going to do that now.
We'll be crossing paths down there!

Do you have the WDW vacation planning video or DVD? Get cozy and watch it tonight. :goodvibes

cstraub - Looking for Video now....Thanks you all...I knew you could perk me up! :flower:

Aww!! :(

My dad is a Disney freak too - I caught the bug from him. I'm sure if he had passed away recently I'd have a hard time getting motivated to go to Disney too. I'm sure your dad would want you to go and have fun though!

I am someone who hates packing, but I like packing for Disney because I buy so much new stuff. Maybe go on a Disney shopping spree - buy some new clothes, etc, then go home and start packing!

I'm very sorry about your dad. It's understandable that you are having some mixed feelings about the trip. :guilty:

I'm sure once you are there the magic will help with some of those feelings. Try and remember the fun you had with your dad there.

I got the Disney bug from Dad too. I know he would want us to have fun. And DH and I need this trip after the horrible last few months.

Hey my In-laws live where you do!

Sometimes it is okay not to over plan every thing. What is the minimum you need to do? Make sure you have your dining reservations made since with that free dining everybody is eating at Table Service restaurants. Clearly you go often enough so that if you miss something, you can do it the next time. Enjoy yourself. Think about what your Dad would have enjoyed and don't be afraid to talk about it.
Don't you have a checklist saved on the computer for your Disney Packing List?

:wave2:
I: turn on radio Disney when I want to get "pumped up" for the Mouse!
Look at photos of the World (past/future trips)
visit this web site
and talk my fool head off to another DVC owner!
Why not call up MS and see if you could bring a photo of your dad to Epcot
and have him immortilized at the entrance on those stone slabs...this way whenever your @ Dis, he's there also!
I also went through this 2 years ago...I'm with you.
Your Dad would want you to enjoy yourself there!
:moped: Got the itch...must see Mouse...outta here in 2/06!

Sometimes this happens to me. I think of all the things I should be doing and it seems like so much that I just can't get motivated. I like the idea of making a list, then you can just cross off one or two things at a time. I also think the idea of bringing a pic of your dad is a fabulous idea. Take it easy, and just remember no matter what, once you're there, you'll know why you keep coming back. :goodvibes

I like the picture idea DVCguy. Who do I call? MS or GS or just bring a picture?

You could take a visit to all the picture threads! That always gets me going!

I'm in the same boat-leaving in a week and a half. I was really excited 2 months ago and dh made me promise NOT to over plan so I haven't. We have no ADR's but we do have tickets to Nouba. We're going for our 25th anniversary and no kids so we're trying to be spontaneous. Of course packing isn't my problem-I'll be throwing stuff in suitcase about 8 hours before. I'm hoping I'll perk up in a couple of days.

I am 30 something days out and I also am having a hard time getting in the Disney mood. I am emotionally and physically drained from hurricanes, work, looking for gas and waiting in long gas lines. I need to call Disney about a few things, but I just can't seem to get on the phone and call them. Instead, I'm on the Dis trying to get in the mood.

I hope you get in the Disney mood soon and I know you will have a great vacation when you are down there.

I think we need to take to everyone's good advice...I did manage to make those phone calls to GS that I had been putting off.

Put on the disney music...I am not cured but listening to
"we are siamese if you please" :cat:
.. did help :)

O2BNWDW - Though I know the reasons aren't comparable (am sorry about your Dad), I feel a bit the same. We're leaving in 18 days, 17 if you count the overnight at an OHare airport hotel.

I've recently changed jobs within the same organization and the timing for a vacation is definitely not good. When I planned this 8 mo. ago, this seemed like an ideal time and I had all the details worked out for my former position. Luckily my new boss said it was ok to take my vacation!

We had a short visit to my hometown over Labor Day and our house/dog sitter somehow broke our just out of full warrenty dishwasher so now I'm nervous about leaving her for 9 days with our "babies" (and the house).

There's also been a few health problems that I'm dealing with - I feel like I spend way too much time at the dr's or at the lab!

Anyway, I really need this vacation so I think, hope, that once I get out of the house on the 25th, I'll relax and put the other things behind me (that is if we resolve the house/dog sitter - a sticky situation since she's our niece.)
