Leaving In 3 Days, Is Pirates Open For Easter?

I am leaving in a few days and heard the rumor that Pirates might be opening for the easter holiday crowds. Just wanted to know if anyone is down there right now and has seen or heard anything to that affect.

I just checked the WDW calendar and Pirates was not listed as being closed for refurbishment on the April calendar anymore. It was on the May calendar. We are SOOOO crossing our fingers it will be open when we get there next week!

Yes, it will be open for easter. Here is the refurb info as it was given to the CM's at MK:

Pirates of the Caribbean will be reopening Saturday, April 8 through Sunday, April 30. The attraction will close again for continued refurbishment Monday, May 1, through Friday, June 30, reopening Saturday, July 1, 2006.

Will it have the new refurbished stuff in it, or will it be the old PoC? I'd love to see some of the new stuff, even if it isn't completely finished.

My DH will be so happy! He was really bummed it was going to be closed.
I don't know if I should tell him or just let him find out when we get there...

We'll be there the end of June into July and we thought we would miss it..
so glad it will be open on July 1st!

Right there with you June 25th - July 2nd Might have to do MK on the 1st & 2nd just for a quick ride.

Volvo Ocean Race hits me next week I can't wait to get some pics of that boat as well.

No it will not have any of the new stuff in it yet. They split the rehab so that they could have it open for the easter crowds. The first part of the rehab was just the normal refurbishment things like, flumes, boats, que area, basic ride items. When they close again on May 1 for the second half of the rehab they will begin making the additions to the ride. So, no...for the few weeks in April that it is open, it will not look any different (maybe just a little cleaner).

Just to let you know, you've made my family EXTREMELY happy with the comment it would be open on July 1. We will be there until the 5th and were horribly disappointed when we found out it would be closing. Yes, I know there are always refurbishments, but not on my time, please!!!
