Leaving in 20 days....started packing :)

I can't believe I am leaving in 20 days and I have already started packing. One dd is completely packed. Her suitcase is in the bottom of her closet!

Has anyone else ever packed this early?? Please tell me I am not totally ALONE

LOL, I am sure you are not totally alone. When we booked our repo cruise, a year ago..we started a drawer..so kind of like packing of things to take with. Everytime we buy new shorts/tops, whatever to wear on the trip, it all goes in the drawer. Now, we leave in 8 weeks, I am just waiting to clear the easter baskets from the bed in spare room and then I will set up the suitcases and start loading them up.

I refuse to unpack my suitcase from our cruise last April!! No, I am joking . I, too am an early packer. And I still overpack and all ways forget something

I am on the same cruise! So excited can hardly stand it - I do have my suitcase out and have a pile of stuff sitting and ready to go in the suitcase - Was going to do that today actually -

I am out of control...Comes with the Obsessive planning disorder...

I am on the same cruise and I have also started packing. It's just my DH and I but I'm so excited. I ordered new clothes for my DH and self even matching Disney Tiki outfits. I CAN"T WAIT. This is going to be the longest 20 days.

I pack way to early.....on our last cruise I started the kids suitcase about 3mths before and my husband has still not stopped teasing me. In my defense kids tear up there clothes so fast, I was protecting them from rips and grass stains LOL .

Yep, I'm crazy too. Starting putting stuff away in a box last year for our cruise this coming June! Got a few more things this week to put in it!

So glad to know that I am not alone. I understand about packing the kids clothes before they get ruined!! That is exactly why I packed my youngest dd's clothes. They are new and if she wore them to school they would be ruined five minutes after putting them on. She can't help it, she is just messy. Watch her eat a . It will be all over her (she's almost 9)

I feel better now, I am going to go continue packing!

I'm with you Heathercat. We leave a week from today for the Cape. I have a little pile of things I MUST NOT FORGET. Otherwise, I haven't even gone looking for the suitcases. I think it's going to be a crazy week.

Join the club.... The obsessive planner disorder club.... Our cruise is April 14- but we are leaving the 11th and my dd's stuff is in a drawer ready to go.....
I have to fly down to Fla. Monday for a few days for my nieces bday- but as soon as i come back- I will pack at least all the summer clothes for everyone.
I have page after page of notes and lists - I am so afraid Ill forget something!

You definately are not alone--when I get home from one cruise I am ready to go again, so I do up the laundry and put it back in the suitcase. then when it is time to go again--I just add to it and away we go---I never want to be late for a cruise--so I am ready to go!

Other than my "cruise box" with important stuff, I didn't actually start packing 20 days out - but I did at around 10 days out. The weekend before - even DH got serious about it and we had all the bags packed except for stuff that had to be "last minute".

This year, we'll be doing the same thing - it actually took us HOURS to get everything sorted, selected, into the suitcases (and organized so each of us had basic stuff in each suitcase) so we were very grateful we weren't trying to do it right before we left and staying up all night before our vacation.

The big concern this year is that we are taking my parents with us and convincing them they need to start packing early is going to be difficult!

I'm all packed and ready and we don't leave until 4/28/05 I needed a whole new wardrobe since my summer clothes from last year are WAY to big for me now So now I'm sitting here ready to go and I don't even have my documents yet

Wow, that is an incredible weight loss. You should be so proud of yourself...My DH saw our family picture back in Feb 04, and went on a diet/exercise program, he has now lost 125 lbs...I decided to shed a few also, and started last august for our sept cruise, and now am starting to look at my summer clothes, and can not believe it... Guess I had more to lose than I thought....

I know I really went off topic, but good for you..I know how hard it was/is for me...

Your definitely not alone. We don't leave for just over 6 weeks, but my youngest DD actually "packed" her suitcase about a month ago until I went through and pulled out half the stuff in there. I do have a pile going, but nothing will go into my suitcase until we get down to the last two weeks. We'll do all our last minute shopping when kids are on spring break next week and then go from there. It's not like I'll be wearing any of my clothes before them
